I hope this is the right thread but I was wondering, is it a sin that I wear trousers and sometimes men's tops? I just read Deuteronomy 22:5.

I think it's sin BUT trousers are made for women these days so you'll probably be ok. As long as it's got the "women" label on it you're fine.

But men's tops? No. Think about it the opposite way, if I wore a crop top or something, that wouldn't be ok, that would be sinning, and it's the same the opposite way around too.

Clothing are really unisex these days, women can wear pretty much anything. As long as they have the label "womens" on them, then you're fine. Probably noone could tell the difference if you wore male clothes or not, but to be safe from sinning, I'd just keep to the clothes which are made for women or clothes that have "women" on the label.

Yes your trousers and tops will spontaneously combust in a massive fireball that could be seen from space via satellite lol....:p

No im kidding, I think it's fine as long as your not wearing these clothes to be the "opposite gender" or transgender....clothing whether men's or womens is just cloth meant to cover nakedness. The MOTIVE behind what you wear really determines if it's sin or not, for example if you wear dude tops to try to be a guy well that's sin....but if it's just b/c they are comfortable I don't see a problem with that.....it matters more what's in the heart b/c your outward actions/appearance will mostly be reflected by what's inside of you....

I only wear male tops sometimes because I prefer the shape of them better. Men's clothing is normally baggier and less clinging see. I don't wear them because I want to be a boy. I asked this question because I thought that me wearing a label with 'men' in doesn't matter because it's just a clothing item.

Thank you for the replies, I'll see what other people say before I throw out some of my clothes.

I think it is more if you are trying to look like a guy or a guy is trying to look like a woman.

Yeah, that's how I feel with some womens clothing too and I'm struggling with it. I'm REALLY skinny for a male, not sure if I'm underweight to be honest. The lowest waist size they make for male super skinny jeans are too big for me, but womens jeans fit my body much better and is MUCH more comfortable. Also with underwear, panties/knickers are just wayyyy more comfortable than boxers. But I'm just afraid with wearing them cos I'm afraid of sinning. Like, I love them because of the comfort and because they fit me better than the male versions do, but I'm afraid to wear them in case I sin and that's why I don't.

Being faithful to God is just more important to me than wearing comfortable clothes or clothes that fit. I'm not sure if it is sin, but just in case. I wish it wasn't sin, but I don't know for certain if it is.

So you actually taught yourself how to read and write without anyone's help? That's kewl.

According to 1 Tim 2:12 it would depend upon whether you were married are not.

I'm 22, I'm not gonna wear kids clothes
I'm talking about teenage clothes. Some of them are identical to adult just different sizes. So in your mind women's underwear and clothes are a better solution to you? I guess I'm just not following.

No, they just fit better and are more comfortable. Like the author of this post says that she wears MENS tops, and like how shineyourlight said she has MENS hoodies, they're just more comfortable and fit better.

My understanding is Deuteronomy was written thousands of years ago. Doubt they had skinny jeans, boot cut denim, panties, tank tops, etc. Men and women clothing were much different then. Reminds me of a pants thread...

I have asked the same questions and I have heard the same answers that as long as your not trying to live like a Man by wearing men's clothing you are okay. I do not think God cares so much as to what you wear as long as you keep your self modest. I was told in the old biblical days guys wore togas which would be considered a woman type dress and it was fine so as long as your not defining yourself as a man I think your good. I agree I wear men's T shirts at times also they do fit better as I have broad shoulders lol and girly shirts are made for small framed shoulders and what not.
