I try to read the Bible for an hour each day though somedays I forget to or I'm really busy. I always make sure to read my Bible for 30 mins a day if I don't have an hour to read.

Everyday. There is a bible app I use that sends a new bible verse or verses each day. That's how I'm able to at least read something each day.

Definitely not as much as I should be. And that bothers me. I just get distracted and bored while reading it, because my mind is on a dozen other things and I can't focus on reading for very long. :(

Since I was saved in 1980, God told me to read the Bible every day. When I was really sick with RA in the early 2000's, I didn't read once in 2 years, till God prompted me daily to read 5 Psalms every day for a long time. I finally obeyed, and the Psalms ministered to be in every way. I caught up when I went to seminary. When I did NT and OT survey, I read through each book in a number of translations completely through every day. It was a really good way to get the total context for each book.

For years I read 3 chapters of the OT and 1 of the NT daily. It took me a long time I the beginning! A few years back, our pastor was promoting the importance of reading the Bible and we did a chronological read through the Bible, which I am going to do again next year. This year, I am reading 3 OT, 1 Psalm and 3 NT daily. The 3 NT chapters a day, gets you through the NT 3 times in a year, plus it shows the context better. I've really enjoyed that.

I am pretty serious about Koine Greek, and I usually translate a half a chapter daily, which can take a short while, or a long while, depending upon the author who wrote the words down. Luke/Acts are really challenging, 1,2 & 3 John, I can read through straight.

I cannot emphasis enough how important it is for a Christian to read their Bible daily. And hopefully more than just a few verses. If you are too busy, ask yourself why God's Word is not your priority and then cut something out that is less important.

If reading is a challenge, then get a simpler version, and challenge yourself to look up words you do not know. The way people learn to read is by reading, and even someone with a learning disability will improve if they commit to read.

God has ministered to me, taught me, and helped me group through his revealed word - the Bible. It has given me a sound doctrinal foundation, so I am not led astray too often! And if I do fall for something, God is easily able to correct it, because his Word is also written on my heart.

I just want to add a plug for Bible memorization. Even at my old age, I am still working on memory verses. Younger is better, but it is not impossible even for old people, it just takes a bit longer. Having life verses which God has given you hidden in your heart and mind is an incredible blessing because it means the Word of God is always with you!

Doing this is a pleasure, it refreshes the Spirit, it renews the mind and brings God into our lives in a real way. He talks to us through his word, He refreshes us through His word and when we need a patch to cover a tear satan would give us to throw us of course we have a new one to cover the newness of our Spirit Jesus gives us so the damage is contained and not made worse.

Praise His Holy name! JESUS!

I'm nearing the end of my third complete reading. All that is left is the last 48 Psalms. I read out loud to my wife during our daily devotion. When this reading is complete we will immediately begin our forth reading. This time it is my wife's turn to read out loud. She wants to start at in the beginning and read each book consecutively ending with Revelation.

There are 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour which equals 1,440 minutes in a day.

Bible reading for the year for an average reader:

1 per year = 10 minutes
2 per year = 20 minutes
3 per year = 30 minutes
4 per year = 40 minutes
5 per year = 50 minutes
6 per year = 60 minutes

I strive for 60 minutes a day or 1/24th of my day devoted to reading God's word. Sometimes it's 40 minutes and sometimes it's 90 minutes, but I crave it. I need it to renew my mind so I may live for the Lord Jesus Christ the other minutes of my day.

I read the Bible everyday. I usually read 5 or 6 chapters. If I didn't have all these responsibilities, I would be able to spend more time in the Word. I'm pursuing the ministry and knowing what the Bible says is very important to me. Here is 3 things that every Christian should do everyday. Prayer, Reading&Studying the Bible, and worship. These three things are very helpful for your growth and relationship with God. Study these verses on prayer. Isaiah30:29 &Isaiah65:24 these verses are great and I hope they encourage you. Worshipping the Lord is a good thing. Deutoronomy6:4-5 talks about giving him your all. Youcan't serve God halfway. You got be 100% committed. I go hard in the paint I'm not playing no games. Everywhere I go I'm lifting up Jesus name. Just a little sample of some rap lyrics I'm working on.I also write poetry and I love to pray. Praying and writing poetry is part of the Anointing that God has given me. God also called me to preach, but I'm a Evangelist not a Pastor. God called me to the Street Ministry, but I'm waiting for God because if go out their before God is ready to send me I won't be very successful. So when the time is right good things will happen. I at least read a verse a day due to a Bible app that sends me one each morning.

But honestly i am more worried about how much i live to glorify God. Do i live each day, each minute to glorify God? I could read the Bible 24/7 but it wouldnt matter if i am not glorifying God. My goal is to glorify God!

I do not read the Bible everyday.

I study the Scriptures everyday!

Reading is not enough. We also need to study the Word, find out what the Scriptures are saying.

Too many people try to read through the Bible in one year. How can one understand what is said if you are just reading? We also need to study and understand what the Scriptures say.

I was waiting for the first person to make a comment about studying versus reading. I figured this thread would have made it to page two before that happened. Glad I didn't bet money.
