Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
If we intend to fulfill The Lord’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves, we must realize that even though there are things we may personally feel the liberty to do, for the sake of others who may be stumbled or grieved by them, we will not do them. Pleasing Christ and dying to self for His Name’s sake are the ultimate displays of godly, holy love. The basis of our fellowship in the body of Christ is the salvation we enjoy in Christ, and anything that causes a wedge in fellowship between saints on non-salvation, non-sin issues is either selfishness or pride or both!
On non-sin, non-salvation issues, we all have convictions from the word and conscience that we hold dear. However, none of us are given the green light from God to force our personal convictions on others. Differing convictions on non-sin, non-salvation issues are divine opportunities for the love of God to grow and mature in my life and within our church family. The older that I get in The Lord, the more I realize that the love of Christ causes me to live with more restraint than even my own convictions demand.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
Whether we like it or not, these verses tell us that every single Christian lives their life under a microscope. Our life is the theatre that displays our precious Lord Jesus Christ to the world and to one another in the body. The Christian life is not about me; as Paul said, “…not I, but Christ liveth in me” (Galatians 2:20). In order to win others to Christ or help a fellow saint grow in Christ, I will, by the grace of God, remove anything in my life that will be a snare or cause of offense. And as a body of believers claiming to be followers of The Lord Jesus Christ, we have been saved and sealed by The Spirit of God, not to please ourselves, but in order that we might live a life of total surrender before The Lord Jesus in whatever we eat, drink, or do.

My pastor and I agree....your thoughts?

I agree, it is true our lives are on display to the believer and unbeliever as well ..... salt and light!

This is why I use the phrase " you may be the only gospel people may ever read".
I keep this close to my heart each day with my walk, and fellowship with others. My humor gets the best of me sometimes and well I tend to push buttons here and there. I've learned to laugh at myself quit a bit over the years.
But all in all the Lord has shown me how to humble myself and others for that matter. I used to be dogmatic and stern like a ol time Baptist minister but as the Lord said present yourself friendly.

Yes. I always say that how we live our lives is one of the greatest ways we can "witness" to unbelievers.

Sometimes, sadly, that "witness" is not what it SHOULD BE. :(

Everyone watches a Christian. They want to see if we slip up, act in a worldly, sinful way.........if we do, then they can justify their sinful, unGodly lives by pointing to us and saying........"well, look at that Christian......look what they said/did..."

If we live Christ-like though, it CAN be a blessing to other believers, and a strong witness to unbelievers.

Easier said than done - I struggle with this and judging by some of the harsh words here on CC believe I'm not alone.

Our lives are to be transparent to others. We are a living testimony as to what God has done for us.
Think of it as THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MADPARROTWOMEN OR P_REHBEIN now that's a humbling thought.

We are to be others oriented, it's not about us it's about jesus. Most of what we are called to do or act are contrary to the world point of view and rightly so for we are a new creation. Many believers get confused on certain matters such as judgment. That I think is the biggest one. Here's how I see it...we are called to imitate Jesus not God. Some say they are one of the same but scripture shows us the Jesus never did anything on his own but what th he father had revealed to him. Jesus always maintained a servants status even though he was God in the flesh. That is what are goal should be. As a child of God we have the best retirement package Jesus blood could buy. And rewards that are far greater than the world could offer. Keeping the servants status we keep in the will of God. Anything outside the will of God the wages change and the retirement package is ..well....heated up.

well put Pr,

but sadly, when you live your life day to day, for Jesus Christ, you soon begin to realize that not only will
you lose old friends, but also family members that you love and adore very much,..
