this is alway a tough read :) no where in the bible will you see the context of remarry other than it is adultery and it is not allowed . no where in scripture will you find the statement ' you are to remarry". That being said there are many thing we do that God said NOT to do , and are forgiven for.

So much scripture about divorce and remarriage So in not so many words the bible is saying woman can not remarry unless their husband is dead. Romans 7:3 - So then if, while [her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

that if she does she is an adulteress please enlighten me on this how are so many Christians divorcing and remarrying? are they going to be considered damned or sinners?
Luke 16:18 - Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from [her] husband committeth adultery.

so if a woman is cheated on gets divorced and then gets remarried her new husband is considered to have committed adultery also very confusing
Read the scriptures for your self sister, Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you, ask Jesus to show you. Jesus said that when someone commits adultery, their partner is then free to re-marry, this is because the covenant (which is what marriage is) has been broken;

[SUP]31 [/SUP]“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’[SUP][f][/SUP] [SUP]32 [/SUP]But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
(These words can also mean a husband who cheated as well, will make the wife free to re marry)

This is the only scriptural passage that mentions this act of re-marriage with the offence of adultery removed. Please sister listen to the living word, Jesus. If everyone was to commit murder would that make it right? If everyone was to divorce and remarry dose that make it right?

Read about the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem with Nehemiah, remarriage was not the problem but joining with an outsider was, they had to be "put away" and that included the Children. Gods law of love (not the mosaic law) is a law of just that, "LOVE". To God first, before all, through Jesus. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and strenghth"

Jesus said;
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

This is a hard thing, Jesus tells us to count the cost of knowing Him, if we do not understand the cost we will not be able to pay the price. Think about the parable of the treasure hidden in a field or the pearl. They cost everything, those who bought them had no money to feed themselves or their families, just a reliance on God.

It is the same for us, Jesus is our all, our everything, all the time no matter what the cost because He paid the most awful cost for us, He brought us with His blood and His death. Our price for His salvation can only be obtained through our all for Him.

Many are called but few are chosen, these words are important, and are not there for our entertainment for an hour on Sunday mornings. No words the Lord has spoken will return to Him empty. From your question you already know the answer. Hold strong and do not be deceived.
God bless

Jesus teaches us it is wrong to break any law or commandment that is not a product of justice, faith and mercy. If we know the teachings of Jesus Christ, we know divorce is wrong, and we also know that we are taught to forgive such things.

Reading the Old Testament in the Prophets we discover immediately that bigamists and divorced people are not encoursged yet they are not condemned.

People, any who are children of the Most High God by the Blood of His only begotten Son know to always extend mercy, yet do our best to obey what we know is God's desire (His will). Grace only is license, law only is being under the law, but grace with theinfilling of the wisdom of understanding the teaching of God in both Testaments is the only way, law understanding grace will give even a fool the knowledge and wisdom of true obedience for it is written on your hearts, and we now know what to obey and when to forgive..........mercy, justice and faith....amen.
