When the Children of Israel were disobedient in the wilderness, God swore He would not allow them to enter into His rest. His rest here is in reference to entering into the promised land.

Our rest will be when we enter into the Promised Land to come. We know and believe Jesus, thus we are on our way, but not yet perfected until HIs day.
