Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said,
"How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God."
Luke 18:24-25 (ESV2011, MBM)

If you are reading this, apparently you are on the internet with some device, which also means you are rich.
Poor people think differently than WE do.
Be warned. It is easy to say, "I am a believer", or "I have faith".

I will post one of many links to income stats.
The average HOUSEHOLD income worldwide is less than $10,000
Most of us have a lot more than that. We are rich.
Be warned. Examine yourself. I am not trying to judge anyone in this area, but this is for your consideration.

Worldwide, Median Household Income About $10,000

what are you saying here?

and what are you doing about what you are saying here?

that verse is not applicable to people who work for a living...I doubt you work as hard as my husband does...he does not even have the time to be on this site..nor the inclination, but that's another story

who was Jesus talking to? your average income earner? or a Jew who professed to keep the law as YOU profess to keep the law?

are you now a communist also?

the shocker appears to be your belief that what you have posted here, applies to believers on this site

you don't even believe the things most of us here believe and you go to extraordinary lengths to stretch, take out of context, twist and misapply most scriptures

That awkward moment when you yourself posted this from an electronic device... And actually, you can go to the library and use their computers. So someone that uses this site isn't automatically "rich". Nice trap setting, though. Give you points for creativity.

It really isn't a matter of how much wealth a person has, but rather whether that person thinks wealth and riches can save him/her (as opposed to God). And whether material possessions are idols to that person.

It is the love of money that leads to all evil not money in itself..

1 Timothy 6:KJV
10 For the love of moneyis the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

I know people who are on welfare and are not rich as in earning a living but still manage to work the system and have the latest TV smoke drink and yes have a computer. The Computer I am using at present was bought in 2009, making it seven years old and quite elderly by IT standards. I am not in the least rich. I am pensioner but my needs are not great. As long as I can pay my bills I am happy. Apart from my Pension I have no other income.

To be blunt I am quite fed up with these Holier than thou sanctimonious threads. Only God is my Judge.

most of us live in comfortable homes, with plenty of food, plenty of clothes,
and yes, let's be honest, plenty of non-necessities.

is that loving money?

a lot of you claim that you are not rich,
when the stats clearly show we ARE rich by comparison to the rest of the world.

WE are living far more comfortable than the rich young ruler. fact.

Again disciplemike you show your hate for your Brothers in Christ.

Just remember every finger you point at us you also have fingers pointing back at you.

If you hate money so much disciplemike you need then to give everything away you have, including your computer.

Can you not see the hate in your Heart????????

I'm on a fixed income. I barely have enough money to pay for anything, and yet you condemn me for having what little money i have!!!!!!!!!

Get thee behind me Satan!!!

that is an attempt to comfort us rich folks.
by taking that statement to the far extreme, you find refuge in the silliness of your statement.

Yes, many of us have more money than so many people. But guess what some of us do with that.
Give it to others. And the people who can't. Well some of us go to soup kitchens every weekend or go give blankets to this less fortunate. Are you seriously trying to say that the people who gave their lives to Christ volunteering their time to service and other wonderful things that they won't get into life with Christ because they have some money? Ridiculous. Straight up ridiculous.

You do realize that there are way more poor people who love money and think that if they only had more they would be safe, then there are comfortable and content people who love money right?

well, not sure about that.
I was trying to read what Jesus said, in context, and in comparison to our culture today.
for consideration.

I have seen people who depend on faith for their next meal.
I have seen people who have to have faith that the rains won't wash away their 1-room shack.
I am just saying it is different than what we see in the west.
by the way, most of these poor people I have seen are happy people.
