or dont understand what has changed.

faith in a god is a simple equation, you either believe in him or you don t believe in him. ( god)

why do you need a bible , if the rhema word of god, speaks direct to a personal believer.
that would be out side of what you can read in the bible. ie given you a personal direction in your own life.
and give you a personal direct line to god.

I THINK you are saying that you really should be using your bible in context rather than throwing it out and relying on personal experience, but I am not sure..

Can you clarify?

Can't tell if your being sarcastic but I'd like to answer the question if you are asking; why does God give us the Bible if He is going to give us personal revelation and a direct line to God?

For some reason, God has worked it out that we are to have His Word the Bible. He kept His Word safe alllll these years for us. He wanted us to have the Bible to go to and read and hold and meditate on. And He also has given us the Holy Spirit to teach us about the Bible and the truth in it. How to understand it supernaturally via our new man and the Holy Spirit witnessing to our spirits that we ARE NOW the sons of God. We are loved dearly and graciously. We will be learning about this love for the rest of our lives. Jesus is going to be carrying the marks of what He did for us for all eternity for reasons that are important to the Godhead. Jesus didn't have to do this but He will be doing it to show us how much He loves us.

We have the righteousness of Christ given to us by Him as a gift. We are now new creations IN Christ and are to begin this amazing Christian walk. The Holy Spirit ministers to us in a zillion ways through the Bible and we each get personal revelations about Jesus and the truth of God's love for us IN Christ. Each day we are seeing more and more of Jesus and grace and truth. He is being magnified by the Holy Spirit and in the Bible. We are learning about grace and how it works. (The love of God IN Christ.)
In John 7:38-39
[SUP]38 [/SUP]He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

The Holy Spirit works with those who believe in Jesus (believers) and the more we see Jesus revealed, the more rivers of living water come flowing in and out of us. Living water that keeps us satisfied and these are continual waters. This water never runs stagnant because it is living. We have found the water of life and we can drink it in daily. The Holy Spirit works hand in hand with the Word and it all comes out beautifully the way the Godhead has planned it from the beginning.

We do get tons of personal revelation on how to walk out our personal daily walk from the Holy Spirit as we read and hear the Bible preached and taught. He directs us on how to use our lives. We begin to live out the fruits of the Spirit., how to use the blessings to BE a blessing. How to reconcile people to Christ by giving out the Gospel.

We have inherited eternal life along with all the promises. We are adopted sons and daughters who are legally allowed to call God our Abba Father. Many of us don't know who we are in Christ. The Word reveals all this and more and more so much so we can't ever exhaust it or get enough of it.

One reason a person would want to have a Bible is that God's commandments are written in the Bible. When we obey the Lord's commandments, life goes well.

Good points made already in this thread. One thing I'd like to add to this discussion is that Scripture should be treasured because it's the word of God and a historical account of man's beginnings ( our fall) and the plan of redemption. As with any other form of history, the admonition that those who do not read history are doomed to repeat it, applies in this case as well. Also, it's kind of shortsighted to expect God to give us all a personal revelation when he's already given us detailed instructions and wisdom in Scripture. We need to put out effort to diligently study scripture and draw closer to God. God answers our prayers and requests for wisdom but he does expect us to show initiative and study his word.

Lastly, Scripture gives us a standardized way to evangelize and fellowship with others. Imagine if everyone claimed to have had a different revelation from Christ and we had no scripture to judge these claims.

the point is more on , what has changed ie old to new testaments ie redeem or redeemed, makes change not as some are trying to say on other threads ,as any quote will do. if you dont know the difference between jews and christians.

or dont understand, what has changed.

for the record the rhema was here before the the logos. (written word ie bible).

John 1: The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was in the beginning with God.

The Bible tells us "WHAT" to do, and the Spirit often shows us "HOW" to do the "what" in everyday, specific situations.

Trying to understand your post here..

I THINK you are saying that you really should be using your bible in context rather than throwing it out and relying on personal experience, but I am not sure..

Can you clarify?
context is only one problem, the bible is not a religion, it names different sets of people at different time of history.

for example.
jews. (law given to moses. by god)

jews and gentiles.ie becoming christian believers. ie believing in a saviour or a redeemer. (jesus christ)

the point, i don t defend faith in a religion, but faith in a god through jesus christ,

the other point about context in the bible , it is talking to the person or people around at that time in history.

for example. to change

Acts 15: The Jerusalem Council
1 But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, "Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be savedActs 15: The Jerusalem Council

.5 But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, "It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses."Acts 15

both of these quote show opinion from jewish sects.

paul said etc
11 But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will."Acts 15: , (will be saved just like them gentiles

paul said and also being jewish etc )

it has become more common that a believer in god, through jesus, we see the usage of the rhema word , ie god speaking direct to a believer. through reading it in the bible. etc

so if simple facts of interpretation are being over looked what is the point of context etc

no it dose not, willie, that is why the rhema is used in context to god talking direct to you.

for example
why, would he send me to rechange ,what a saviour has already done for a believer.

for example

abraham heard the voice of god, and followed.

.18 For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.Galatians 3

i agree to your quote, but on the flip side, if context is out, then ,what is the point of correcting there blindness.

One reason a person would want to have a Bible is that God's commandments are written in the Bible. When we obey the Lord's commandments, life goes well.
acts 15 , already tells you about commandments.

you may want to read this.

Galatians 5: Christ Has Set Us Free
1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you.3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. Galatians 5: Christ Has Set Us Free

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

rejecting what a redeemer or saviour has already done for you. is the reason some are called blind.
for example
Romans 8: Life in the Spirit
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.Romans 8: Life in the Spirit.

for example
16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.Romans 5: Peace with God Through Faith

even paul is talking to jewish believer in gal 5.

you do have this on your side lol

5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith---6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"?

The Bible says to attend to the sick. We all know that. Listen to this true story.

A friend of my wife's asked God (the Spirit) "What can I do that will really help this man down the block who just came home from the hospital?"

She got the spiritual impression "Take them a watermelon."

She thought this was crazy, so she asked again. Same answer.

So, she arrived at their door, feeling like a fool, with a watermelon in her arms. They were ecstatic! It seems watermelon was the only thing on his now-imposed diet that he liked, and the wife had not had a chance to go out and buy one.

The Bible told WHAT to do, but the Spirit told HOW to do it in a truly meaningful way.

you read the bible and now your using this as an example to make a point.

for example
the bible is read, so that would first have to be taken in to context to who wrote it and why, and the time in history.

what has that got to do with what i said

you have hospitals to attend the sick. 2016

If we're obeying the commandments, we're doing well, aren't we?
if you can not understand the context, to acts 15 or gal 5.

you will have to know the difference between a jew and a christian.

what make you, think you can follow the commandments. when simply, you put a yoke on your own head.

1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery
