No he was not born Gay. He became Gay because of Sexual abuse done on him by an adult male. He is not active as far as i can see.

There is no Professional counseling that i know of that can change a person from Gay to straight.
God can change someone.

There is something that happens in everyone's lives. This is no excuse to continue in sin. Lets say a murderer or a rapist had something happen in their lives to make them turn to murder and rape. Are they ok to continue to do it even though it has something to do with a bad situation in their lives?
I see your heart here, but lets remember that it can time to be completely free of certain things.

I was a former alcoholic and drug user. I also smoked cigarettes. When I came back to the Lord, I had already stopped drinking and drugs, and never again drank a drink of alcohol or used drugs.

However, cigarettes were the hardest thing for me to quit, because I simply loved to smoke. Once I made the decision in my spirit to stop smoking and asked the Holy Ghost to make it impossible for me to smoke....I quit and never had a another smoke. I was in the Methodist denomination back then, and would have a cup of coffee and smoke 20 minutes before I got and preached. I am not proud of that at all, but I share it to illustrate the point, that just because you get saved and right with God, does no mean the works of the flesh just stop....sometimes God does deliver that way, but those instances are the exception and not the rule.

This is why Christians can be the most hurtful people to new believers. There is no more discipleship anymore, there is Praise the Lord, you got Jesus....now stop cussing, drinking, smoking and lying by next Sunday..... the ones demanding this are usually the ones that gossip, have a haughty look, proud heart and are Pharisees that spread religion, instead of pointing the person back to Jesus and spreading relationship...This is one of the major reasons why the church is looked at by the world as filled with hate, etc....

A friend of mine is a Pastor and his own daughter was in the Lesbian lifestyle for 12 years, it took her 2 years to become completely free....and she was raised in a Christian home.

How?????? My friend needs answers.
Answers are in the Word of God. This is one thing I have learned. If someone truly wants a change in their life they must give all of themselves to the Lord.

[h=1]Matthew 19:16-22New Living Translation (NLT)[/h][h=3]The Rich Man[/h]16 Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher,[a] what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”
17 “Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep[b] the commandments.”
18 “Which ones?” the man asked.
And Jesus replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. 19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’[c]”
20 “I’ve obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied. “What else must I do?”
21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.

How much is your friend willing to give to follow Christ? Is he willing to give up his homosexuality? There are so many Christians who want to follow Jesus but they are unwilling to give up their possessions (worldly things). Jesus doesn't just want part of us, He wants all of us. He just doesn't want us on Sunday's, He wants us everyday.

Being in a Christian home doesn't make one a Christian. I do agree with you that it can take time to be rid of something. But the thing is the person has to be willing to admit that what they are doing is wrong. If they can't confess it is a sin then they will never be rid of it.

Yeah your right, only Jesus can make him change, but I would suggest finding a loving Pastor and start there.

What you describe is the the larger norm than people think. This is why I get very upset with religious filled Christians who just write them off has hopeless, because they enjoy being a homosexual.

There are many in the homosexual life style that are in it because they are completely reprobate and debased and feed a lustful need. Likewise there are many or more than have other traumas that made them decide to stay in the lifestyle, because they see no hope, because the enemy places them in such strong condemnation and guilt.

Homosexuality is a SIN and so is fornication between 2 heterosexual unmarried CHRISTIAN young adults.

Sometimes we must look deeper in the roots of the why instead of deciding to throw stones.

He only thinks he's gay.. If he hasn't acted upon those feelings with another man, he isn't gay. If he was molested by a man as a child or whatever, then that is certain to freak up a young child's mind. BUT he knows sex is supposed to be with a woman and a man. God didn't make Adam and Steve.. And if I remember correctly, you've posted more than one thread on this topic, seeking answers for "your friend". Tell him to ask God to take these feelings away from him, and return his thought patterns back to normal..

Can a person who is Gay and has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior be a True Christian????
We need to stop listening to religion. A gay person who has trusted in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ is SAVED!

Can a proud, self righteous person who has trusted in Christ for their salvation be saved? Yes.

I would rather be a believer who struggles with a gay lifestyle, than a believer who is proud and arrogant about all the things that they are not.

But what if the person never chose to be Gay in the first place? What if because of something in his life that cause him to be Gay, can he still be a Christian or is he doomed for life to spend eternity in Hell because he cannot change who he is?
Hello MikeHenderson,

Just like with all sin, when we come to Christ he requires repentance. Therefore, whether a liar, a thief, greedy, which is idolatry, a rapists, etc., when a person comes to Christ repentance is required. There is no picking and choosing of what sins you want to continue in. So the answer is, the person who is gay must be gay no more. Just as man or woman in Christ who struggles to keep himself from sexual immorality with the opposite sex, so also should those who are engaging in same-sex relations be wrestling with the sinful nature to escape that life style and that because continuing in it leads to death, whether believer or unbeliever.

The true Spirit-filled believer is always in a state of overcoming the sinful nature as the Sprit convicts them. But for those who are willfully living according to the sinful nature and calling themselves Christians, they are only deceiving themselves, because instead of repenting and because they want to continue in that life style, they just attempt to justify their actions. This is exactly why today we have the world, under the banner of civil liberties, making the sin of same-sex equal with God's institution of marriage, which He created and recognizes as only being between a man and a woman. Anything else is sin.

"Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

I'm equating sin as sin. He was stating that his friend had a traumatic thing happen in his life. A lot of murderers and rapists have had similar things happen to them. This is why his friend stays in a homosexual life style. I was explaining that something that occurs in our lives doesn't give us the right to continue in sin.

Does God look at the homosexual and the murderer the same when it comes to sin and salvation? Are you saying that if a murderer claims to be saved but continues in murder that he is more of a sinner than the homosexual that claims the same thing?

I dont disagree with you, but was it really that easy for you to be that clean instantly?....If you say it was then I will hold a altar call for liars to come down and get right with God....:D

There is no question that confession must take place and so must the realization that why they engage in is wrong and SIN, even that can take time and repentance[actual change] takes even more time.

Most of the homosexuals we have ministered to were ready to change and the Holy Ghost had been working on them longer than we ever had.

Christians seem to get selective amnesia with what they perceive confession and repentance really is all about.

We live in a culture today, that was never taught anything about SIN, and that is really the work of the Holy Ghost and not us. Once a person has been convicted[reproved, convinced] by the Holy Ghost, they are ready for the next step of confessing with their Mouth and believing in their Heart....

This isn't religion speaking, it is the Word of God. Yes we all sin and fall short, but when I sin I know I have done something wrong. If someone claims that being a murderer or a homosexual isn't a sinful lifestyle and continue to claim to be a Christian then they are wrong and they aren't walking in salvation.

I work with many people who claim to be Christians but their lifestyle says something totally different. They are out getting drunk every weekend, sleeping around etc... But if you were to ask them are you a Christian they will claim yes. Jesus spoke of these people and said He never knew them.

odd how when you mention the 4th commandment, some believers say, "we are not under the law. we are under grace".

but when someone mentions homosexuals, they want to jump back under the law.

Think very hard before you turn the grace of God into lasciviousness.

The homosexual who has confessed and repented of their homosexual lifestyle and forsaken it and has trusted in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ is SAVED!

If they continue to engage in the lifestyle, then they had no For sorrow that is according to the will of God, which produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but they had a sorrow of the world which produces death.

We are all sinners, it is up to the Most High to make that judgement, not any man.
He has already made that judgement:

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
