All along GOD was looking for godly offspring
and the Jew was supposed to be a light to all men teaching all men about GOD
in fact GOD told His First chosen whom He took out from "Egypt" and into "Israel" by HIS strong arm (of salvation) to not treat an alien as an alien because they too were once aliens
but that the alien amongst them who wished to celebrate the Passover needed to be corcumcised
the desire to celebrate the Passover came first and then the outward sign of a covenant between GOD and man
and all this was from the beginning based on GOD making the distinction between HIS flocks and "the wrong King and his flocks"
