Tit 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

how about we lift up each other this day? I too am guilty of getting caught up in thinking I need to defend something... but when I thought about I realized, the best way we can exemplify our Savior is to love each other , speak life, I haven't been doing enough of that.... if I think someones is in error I will try to remember to entreat them, not be defensive or argumentative, just thought id share what I'm leaning... its not for everyone but I find it encouraging.

I agree, If we love God we will follow God. (do what he did while here on earth) If we follow God we will be blessed.

However, if this is another feeble attempt by the judiazers to say this means we should follow mosaic law.. Then shame on you.. That is not what it means, The mosaic law can not even make us righteous people. let alone, help us to be blessed. Because by following mosaic law. we are self focused, Not others focused as God commands.

Jesus di dnot go around looking to the law of moses to see what he had to do. He went around looking for people to serve, People to love, People to save, In doing so, He fulfilled the law of moses..

We should do the same. In doing so, even in tribulation and distress, we will be blessed.

Most likely because you are a humble servant.. And God loves you. in spite of your flaws

it means this new movement of people trying to get us to follow some law given to the jews through moses..however it is not new, it was the people Paul had to fight while he was trying to start the church in the gentile world.

Yes! God loves me in spite of my flaws. His love is the greatest blessing I never worked for. This our brothers from another mother (born of the bondservants), will never see until their hearts are softened. Sadly.

That's right. Judaizers are people that try to get Gentiles to observe the law of Moses after they come to Christ.

In Paul's case they were those that came to say that the Gentiles had to follow Moses and be circumcised. This principle remains for anyone trying to tell people that they need to follow the law of Moses now that they are Christians. This applies to Sabbath keeping as outlined in the law of Moses and feasts..etc.

It is a perversion of the gospel of the grace of Christ to say that Christians must observe the law of Moses.

Galatians 1:6-7 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;

[SUP]7 [/SUP] which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to
distort the gospel of Christ.

Paul said that those that are trying to get others to "observe/follow" the law of Moses - which in this case was circumcision - Paul did not yield to them for even on hour so that the truth of the gospel would remain with them.

Galatians 2:3-5 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.

[SUP]5 [/SUP] But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.

Colossians 2:16
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.

Jesus said NO ONE is to judge us for the Sabbath day. But yet you disciplemike do judge us. Why are you fighting against what Jesus says???

Either he finds worth in judging others or he's really just deceived. Either way, he needs our prayers.

oh?Please tell me why you think this?

A pharisee is not a judiaser? The jews trying to institute circumcision were not judiasers?

Just to clarify: what Paul had to fight with as you put it ,was Pharisees and the like trying to foist traditions taught by men rather then the actual written word, just as our Savior addressed when he spoke these words:Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
so I guess what I am getting at is where is the traditions of man being taught as doctrine here? most don't even understand it wasn't the scriptures that our Savior was referring to, or Paul for that matter, it was the traditions and teachings of man ADDED to the written word, so if you wish to accuse someone of this at least get the facts straight.

Yes sis, He does love us.

And as his children he is more worried about who we are serving, and our self sacrifice we make for others, than how well we follow moasic law. Which he claimed was our tutor to lead us to him only.

um no your wrong..

They tried to instil circumcision on gentiles.. This was Gods law. But they were taking it out of context. and other laws and traditions which were given to jews to lead them to Christ, But are not for gentiles..

if your trying to make gentile churches follow traditions given to moses, then you are a judiaser. and focused on rules and laws. and not serving others.

if your making salvation dependent on it, then you are even worse, for you are teaching a false gospel

please study it carefully, you will soon discover the circumcision being addressed by Paul there was not the 8th day circumcision, also many times Paul used the term circumcision to describe a practicing "Jew" who adhered to all the traditions taught in the Talmud and such, none on here that I have seen are doing this.... and furthermore the term was not even mentioned in this thread except by you.

So many people just hide behind their computers, copy and paste bible verses and proclaim things such as these threads. ANYONE can do that. Jesus is more concerned in saving, healing and loving on His people.

lol.. You need to study, These jews were saying if you want to get to heaven, then great,, But you better get circumcised to.. or else your not saved.

Paul also told the collossian church it is not the physical circumcision performed by the hands of men(on the 8th day or whatever) which makes us clean, but the circumcision done by the hands of God..

An uncircumcized gentile who has been born again of God is just as much saved and a child of god as a circumcized jew who has been born again by God..

it would be so amazing if people (the church) would focus on who needs God, who needs served, Who needs their body washed (saved) and who needs their feet washed (served as brother and sister) and less on what traditions or ceremonies the jews of the OT did.

There would be more victories.. and less judgment.. and alot less proud people who think they have made it.
