Aw, thanks, ladylynn :).

A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Don't you change a thing sissy!! Your posts are uplifting and bring some balance to the universe of CC.
 Maybe it's the Dr.Who influence??? We used to watch that show many years ago on PBS and yes., that curly headed guy was the best Dr.Who IMO. Did you see him on the BBCs C.S.Lewis series when he played the Marshwiggle in "The Silver Chair"??? He was EXCELLENT!!! You simply MUST see him play this part if you haven't already. (forgot his name)
My kids got me hooked on Dr. Who (the new one). It's a lot of fun, thought-provoking, and there are so many fun 'Who-isms', ha! I tend to not be a sci-fi/fantasy fan, but Dr. Who is fun :).

If the BBC's 'The Silver Chair' ever comes on streaming, I'll look it up!

I have not listened to him. Just bits and pieces of stuff that you folks have posted. Your testimony and Grace777 and others here of him is enough for me to see that he preaches Grace.

And the fact that the legalists DESPISE him. He must be pretty close to the truth.

This reminds me of why I took a closer look at Trump and decided to vote for him. The liberal media can't stand him and all the movie stars hate him. Epso/factso :rolleyes:

Noooooo stay away from that stuff Robby! My dad was a devotee and it messed him up big time. We believers certainly don't need that stuff! We have the real deal!

hmmm..is a gift still a gift if it is conditional?

If I know that the person who is giving me a gift is the type of person who puts strings on to it., I will NOT accept this "gift" because it is not a gift for me. It is a gift for them. It is selfish, it is not for me it is for their own good not mine.

The gift of Salvation from Jesus has nothing to do with selfishness nor is this gift given from a self centered intention in any way. His gift is the epitome of love and grace and our example of how we should be.

How many of us can follow 1Cor.13 without the power of the Holy Spirit?. We can't do it unless we have a revelation of the love of God in Christ. We love Him because He first loved us. This gift is said in the Bible to be an indescribable gift. (am thinking of all the Christmas cards)

But how can any of us DO this kind of love??? It can be accomplished only if we have Jesus and a revelation of His love for us.

13 If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such [SUP][a][/SUP]as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
[SUP]
2 [/SUP]And if I have prophetic powers ([SUP][b][/SUP]the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).
[SUP]
3 [/SUP]Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or [SUP][c][/SUP]in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy ([SUP][d][/SUP]the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].

If anyone has the right to be grumpy here, Yonah, it would be Jesus. But no. Jesus is our source of joy.
I agree and why do you think He would be grumpy here? is there a reason that would be?
