In this context, what would qualify as lasciviousness?
For there are certain men crept in unawares,
who were before of old ordained to this condemnation,
ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness,
and denying the only Elohiym YHVH, and our Adonai, Yeshua HaMashiach.
Jude 1:4 (KJV, MBM)

My brothers and sisters in Messiah, what do you think?

Don't even know what that word is. I'm certain that I could not even spell it let alone pronounce it.

People who are trying to convince us to follow the law for salvation.

Who creeps in UNAWARES with the message to live like hell?

But those who follow the law and try to be subtle and sneaky with their approach to put believers back under the law.......they creep in unawares............but we got ya covered. There are grace believers here that are NOT unawares of your craftiness and sneaky snake approaches.

You are condemned under the law that you follow.

You have turned Grace into lasciviousness..................trying to live in the "good" side of your flesh. You are living in your flesh and you have not a clue.

That is so true what you said above in blue.

Satan and his horde do not come to the believer in Christ and say "Sin all you want" because no one would for fall for such a lie.

Instead they come
as
"ministers of righteousness".

They want us to live by our own D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness ( as in trying to keep parts of the Law that we like to keep - but never keeping it all and thus we are guilty of it all as James says ) - so that we will be not be depending on what Christ has done for us by grace through faith alone for salvation.

This cuts us off from receiving the grace of God in our lives.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (KJV)
[SUP]14[/SUP] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

[SUP]15[/SUP] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

( notice that is "their" works )

This below is what satan is really after...this is why he has false teachers in our midst.

He wants us to fall away from grace and depend on our own performance as in keeping the parts of the Law that we think we can keep.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

And I want to reiterate. I always approach these issues from the Idea that these folks are saved. They have just forgotten Grace. and they are living in lasciviousness, they just don't understand the more lustful side or our most powerful lusts of our flesh............are being good enough or lusting after our OWN righteousness.

Yep!...the tree of the knowledge of good and evil has the same fruit on it's tree. This tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the law with it's good and destructive parts. Only God can eat from that tree.

We were NOT meant to eat from the Law for life and living which is the eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil brought into the world.

Romans 2:14-15 says that the law is in the hearts of all people and then the law of Moses further put things down in writing to expose what sin is. The Law is the strength of sin. The Law was to expose our need for a Savior.

We were meant to only eat from the tree of Life - which is Christ Himself.

Pretty plain that "Lawkeepers" were trying to bring the old ways into following Jesus.

Obviously those who turn our eyes away from Jesus into our own law keeping. If you don't see that, you're still blinded. We all were there once.

A couple years ago, I would read the same verse and reassure myself that keeping the law is the way. Until I understood what real grace is. When you have this revelation, your life will change.

Trying to explain that GRACE is what changes us .................Is impossible to explain to those who have never tasted it or to those who have quenched it.

Very true. (As the only example I know is myself) I never saw what grace people meant even if they plucked my eyes out and replaced it with their own. It took a heart revelation and transformation to see the REAL gospel, truly GOOD news. But planting seeds here and there would hopefully work for others.

Jude 1:3-4 NKJV
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

So what is the original Greek word used?

Strong's Greek 766
ἀσέλγεια
aselgeia

Strong's definition:
From a compound of G1 (as a negative particle) and a presumed σελγής selgēs (of uncertain derivation, but apparently meaning continent); licentiousness (sometimes including other vices): - filthy, lasciviousness, wantonness.

Thayer's Greek Lexicon
unbridled lust, excess, licentiousness, lasciviousness, wantonness, outrageousness, shamelessness, insolence

Was the book of Jude specifically speaking about Judaizers?
Was not the book of Jude written to address the issue of Gnosticism entering the church?
This book applies to all false teachers who would teach contrary to God's scripture in its entirety.
The next section continues to address people who forget that God will judge the world just as He has judged the world and areas of ungodliness in the past. It's establishing that there will be a judgment of the entire world coming, and as we know, God will not judge the earth with a flood, but with fire.

The book condemns apostasy in all forms. It also predicts apostates who would be mockers in the last time (end times) who walk according to ungodly lusts and cause division (contrary to the TRUTH in God's word). Another book that speaks of mockers/scoffers is in regards to the coming judgment and end times and people who deny that it will be coming.

Jude continues by exhorting believers (remember verse 3) to keep themselves in the love of God and to look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The exhortation then is for believers to address false teachers by having compassion on some, but on others, save them with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

This book is not speaking specifically about Judaizers specifically or those who would have us return to the letter of the law. It speaks against all teachers who teach by the ways of the flesh and by worldly understanding. It speaks against gnosticism and the precepts of gnosticism entering into the church and corrupting the scriptures. It speaks against doctrines of man that turn the word of God into no effect.

Yahchanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

Luke 11:28, "But He said: Yet, rather, blessed are those who hear the plan ofYHWH, and keep; guard, preserve, and obey, it!"

Yahdah 1:4, "For there are certain men who have secretly crept in, who were before of old ordained for this condemnation, unholy men, who turn the undeserved pardon of our One Supreme Savior YHWH into licentiousness, and deny Yahshua our Messiah."

Titus 1:16, "They profess that they know YHWH, but by their works they deny Him--being abominable, disobedient, and to every righteous work, reprobate."

2 Timothy 3:5, "Having a form of holiness, but denying the power of it--from such turn away!"

Romans 1:28-32, "And so, since they did not like to retain YHWH in their knowledge, YHWH gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper; Being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual impurity, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, Backbiters, haters of YHWH, despiteful, arrogant, and boastful. They are inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, And without understanding. They are covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, and unmerciful: Who, knowing the righteous judgment of YHWH, that those who practice such things deserve death, not only continue to do these very things, but also approve of those who practice them."

Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!"

Hebrews 12:3-11, "For consider Him Who endured such opposition against Himself from sinners, so that you would not become weary, and faint in your minds. You yourselves have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as unto sons: My son, do not despise the chastening of Yahweh, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom Yahweh loves, He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, Yahweh deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fleshly fathers who corrected us, and we gave them reverence; should we not even more be subject to Father Yahweh, and live? For they truly chastened us for a few days as they thought best; but He, for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful at the present time, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness, that is, for those who have been trained by it"

Jim Minker, Christian author wrote:

Men who turn the grace of God into license are those who use the law to their own advantage. These are not those who are free from the law but instead those who have learned to manipulate the law so that they appear righteous by the law. Consider the fact that those who Jesus called licentious ones were none other than the religious men who kept trying to set him up by Scriptural tricks and deception. Is it any surprise that this same mind would find itself a comfortable spot to operate within the message of the grace of God in Christ? It was this same mind that James addressed in his letter and which has also been twisted so that it appears to warn against the true grace of Christ. These are the men that Paul said want to be teachers of the law, and yet they don’t understand what they are saying. This same mind is all around us, and it desires to suck us in by trickery and deception. The short letter of Jude is an excellent message showing the simple difference between the mind of life and the mind of death. Never fear it! :)

His wife Sherri Minker added:

Don't even have to worry about that anymore these days … the creeping in. They are welcomed with open arms, looked up to, believed, and followed with the whole heart and mind. The lies and deception that were generated and perpetuated back in the day have been passed down from generation to generation until it is all simple accepted 'truth' and very 'fundamental' teaching in today's claims and many varied versions of 'Christianity'.

We have probably all claimed and perpetuated a lot of the same deception ourselves at one time or another, or even LOTS of times, not knowing any better, as that is the very nature of being 'deceived'.

A lot of today's so-called Christianity is not much more than a blending of many different religious AND pagan beliefs and superstitions without even realizing it. Some of the most sincere and genuine of hearts have been deceived to the point that they teach and preach what many in the past had to 'sneak in' and 'spy out' to infiltrate. Not that they don't still, just saying.

Jude 1:12-16
[SUP]12 [/SUP]These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; [SUP]13 [/SUP]wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. [SUP]14 [/SUP]It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, [SUP]15 [/SUP]to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” [SUP]16 [/SUP]These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.

This is what i think. These are those whose Pride has keep them from God. These are those who demand we follow their ways instead of God. Following after their lust they demand we keep the Law accordingly to what they say.

Who are mockers? It is NOT those who say, live like you want and live like hell. Who causes division? It ain't those who come and say," Sin like hell." They are easy to spot, and not one believer is going to agree with their idea to "sin like hell."

But the mockers, the mockers, and again the mockers ,did you miss it? The MOCKERS are going to try to MOCK Christianity. And one does not MOCK Christianity with living like hell, and doing what ever one wants to do.

Please open your eyes. The mockers are going to make it look very close, I mean very close , to the truth. Only His mind is going to see it.
