Not a trick question. I have given my answer to this on the previous thread but I think it's a subject that matters very much and affects our every day lives.

I welcome all inputs and contribution except trolls.

And I'm sorry in advance if this turns out to be the 1000th law vs grace thread on this forum alone.

Sin isn't important to God. What's important to God is to listen to his voice and obey his commandments. This is the only way he can explain to you why he formed flesh by using the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil to hide the Tree of Life.

Okay, that sounds very contradicting. If that's whats important to God, the lack thereof would be just as important (ie: not listening to His voice and not obeying His commands) correct? And aren't these sins?

I hope there is a typo somewhere in there.

Here is what I do when I sin..

I love to kneel quickly and tell my Father how I trust in Him...how what I did was wrong...sometimes I use the word sin...sometimes I don't...I think that is irrelevant...

I run to my Father and tell Him how that His Son..my Lord is my life..my righteousness,..Jesus' Blood has secured my redemption and forgiveness of sins....I confess what God says about me...I tell Him I love Him and trust in Him...

I have not asked for forgiveness in order to be forgiven for quite some time now because I believe in the gospel message that my sins are forgiven in Christ because of His work....but I always talk with my Lord about what I do or don't do...

You know ...He always loves on me and tells me He loves me and that He is my life and strength. Sometimes I have felt a warm liquid like feeling of pure love fall on me..and I just sit there in His presence and weep..I can't move a muscle..He is so mighty in power yet His love and total acceptance is the most overwhelming aspect of His presence.

To me..all sin is relational. All sin is a failure to see the life of Christ in me. I am ignorant of His life in me. To me....most outward sin is just a "fruit" of the real sin.

For example..If I steal something..that is a sin..but the real sin behind that is the failure to recognize my Father will take care of me. I am operating in the flesh. I want to take things into my own hand and "do" things.

The other part is when you see how horrid it really is when we mess up....sin....transgress.... whatever term you want to use. It is so against our true nature that is Christ in us in our new creation.

..what I see is my unbelief in the goodness and love of my Father and Lord Jesus for me. That is the horrid part because I know that is not Their character nor is it really my true nature now and what He has made me in Christ.

The sins of the flesh does not stop the spirit from hearing the spoken Word. Those who hear the spoken Word of God will learn why God formed the flesh of man to only destroy it with the Earth.

Genesis 6
12: And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
13: And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh; for the earth is filled with violence through them; behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
17: For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall die.

Did all the flesh perish during the flood or will the rest of the flesh perish in the fire of God because the flood was used to set up the conditions for the heat within the Earth to burst through the crust and melt everything on it?

Zephaniah 1
18: Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the LORD. In the fire of his jealous wrath, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full, yea, sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.

Unspiritual man focuses on the visible things in the world. The spiritual man listens to the voice of God and obeys all his commandments to learn the deepest knowledge that exists within the Tree of Life.

1 Corinthians 2
10: God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
11: For what person knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12: Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.
13: And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit.
14: The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
15: The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
16: "For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

God does not want us to sin in any capacity. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. This includes so much more then just the "biggie sins".

Sin is deceitful and destructive. It distorts our view of our loving Father and Lord Jesus as well as distorts our view of others as well as ourselves. It brings destruction to us and those we love.

Once we are children of God - sin never takes away our identity in Christ - we will always be a son/daughter of God - it does however cause destruction on this earth and it is just plain stupid.

Let's grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ so that grace can teach us how to live godly and soberly in this present world. so that we can be who we already are in Christ outwardly to a hurt and dying world that needs to see Christ in action and in truth.

No religious heathens can obey the commandments of God because they can't hear His voice. They use their own interpretations of what they read in the Bible and believe it's the word of God but the Bible cannot speak and tell them that they are liars who are using the scriptures wrongfully.

From experience, fleeing from sin involves after that fact not focussing on the sin, but on Christ's forgiveness and redemption of you. Then you realise you have been set free from the chains of sin and can make the choice to focus on love, faith, hope, perseverance, etc..

The sin cycle is.. I sin.. I feel bad... I CONDEMN myself for sinning.. then I go BACK to the same sin to get rid of the bad feeling.

Eg..

I have too much beer on an occasion.. I feel bad about... I dwell on it and condemn myself for doing it. I go back to beer to get rid of the bad feeling in me.

The Godly cycle would not be about you.. but Jesus..

So it may be something like..

I had too much beer on an occasion.. I feel CONVICTED about it that I have wronged Jesus. I embrace the fact that I have been justified in His eyes and that the chains of sin are gone. I pray God to help me change my behaviour. He empowers me to flee from it.

Guilt vs conviction.

Guilt isn't from God.. conviction is.

Continual or repeated sin for a stumbling believer indicates a "stronghold of demons". Some such demons cannot even be driven out by the laying on of hands (be it a pat on the back for encouragement, a hug for strength or a biblical lashing). Some demons can only be driven out by prayer (but most don't understand the depth or meaning of contemplative and petitionary prayer) and fasting.

Some older threads talk about the deeper meanings and approach to prayer and fasting, and others get to a deeper, if Gnostic understanding of 'strongholds' as defense mechanisms and logical fallacies. Still some valid, albeit sperficial (e.g. turn it over to God) responses have been given in this thread. It is a higher adepti that lays on hands, forgives sins, drives out demons, teaches the meaning of prayer and fasting. Most such things are kept private from initiates, new believers, laity - general.

Ask - keep asking and it shall be granted unto you.
Seek - keeping seeking and you shall find.
Knock - keep knocking and it shall be opened unto you.

If the person can understand sin In the noun form, they will understand that GOD sent HIS WORD to earth manifested In the flesh to be the LAMB of GOD that took away the sins of the world

and those that accessed this grace through faith are forgiven once and forever In the spirit which Is the part that GOD looks at,

But sinning In the flesh would be the verb form

and The flesh has not yet been glorified and still sins and although we have been made just and perfected before GOD In the spirit(noun form)there are consequences for sinning In the flesh

and thats why Paul was saying ,present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable that you may PROVE that good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD

but this Is to the reborn of the Spirit of GOD person to start renewing their mind to the person they have become, not to persuade GOD that you are saved.

You were saved In GOD's eyes when your spirit was made perfect,so then what I'm trying to say with the renewing your mind part

Is the reborn person should be becoming more righteous conscious and not thinking I have to continually keep asking GOD to forgive me when GOD already has perfected your spirit.
