This made me think of this story of Jesus
Mark 1:40-42

40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

That man had no faith. He surrendered and said ''if you want to..do it'' and Jesus said ''I want/I wil''
Its not about faith... Its not even if God wants to, because God wants everyone to be healed. Its about is there something blocking God to heal you.
Teachings of ''faith faith faith blabla'' makes me sick.
I think it is more a misrepresented view of faith that could make a person sick.

But faith is the key that the gates of hell could never prevail against. This is as to how we can hear God speaking to our hearts moving us to both will and do His good pleasure.

The man was given the work of Christ's faith , not born with the faith of Christ, as a labor of his love, as that unseen .That man had no faith. Christ's faith worked in him ....causing him to surrender His will to the will of God and said ''if you want to..do it'' and Jesus said ''I want/I will'' . Therefore in the end of the matter making the faith of Christ, that worked in the man, perfect complete ,know by his reply, ('if you want to). Showing he heard the voice of Him not seen who moved him so he could believe(have faith).

sorry, God never promised you wealth and health, If this was so. all his children would be spoiled rich kids, and none of them would ever die.

You have sadly bought into a false pretense That God promised you things he never did.
My dear sweet one, He has promised us everything..

My problem with WOF is those who believe it are taught christians should be prosperous, healthy, & wise.
But.....the majority of those who give to the televangelists that preach it are poor, sick, & ignorant.
It has been my experience that those that believe in Oneness totally believe WOF, especially Apostolics. I've went to apolstolic chat rooms before in PT & was quickly banned for simple disagreements or posting scripture against their doctrine. They're are very arrogant & haughty, clinging to their position of Apostle, prophet, or some other name. Very much like the televangelists they follow.....

Tell that to paul, WHo had the thorn in the flesh

Tell that to paul WHo had to labor and work so as not to offend a city (because God did not keep him wealthy)

tell that to all the sons and daughters, who had to bury their parents because God did not heal them. Tell that to all the parents who had to bury their children, because God did not heal them.

Some of the most amazing people I have met are those who battle a life threatening disease and are healed. But their life threatening disease wasn't.

Healing

The Word of Faith teaches that complete healing (of spirit, soul, and body) is included in Christ's atonement and therefore is available here and now to all who believe. Frequently cited is Isaiah 53:5[SUP][bible 3][/SUP], "by his stripes we are healed", and Matthew 8:17[SUP][bible 4][/SUP], which says that Jesus healed the sick so that "it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, 'Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses'."
Because Isaiah speaks in the present tense ("we are healed"), Word of Faith teaches that believers should accept the reality of a healing that is already theirs. Accepting this healing is done by confessing the verse or verses found in the Bible declaring they are healed (i.e. Word of Faith) and then believing them fully without doubt. It is not an act of denying the pain, sickness, or disease, but an act of denying its right to supersede the receiving of the gift mentioned in Isaiah 53:5.[SUP][3][/SUP] According to adherents, sickness is an attempt by Satan to rob believers of their divine right to total health.[SUP][4][/SUP]

Yes, they were used of God. because of their sickness, And probably many came to god because of that. Imagine if God healed them, How could they show Gods love and their total faith in God in and through all things..

Prosperity

Word of Faith teaching holds that God wants his people to be prosperous, which includes finances, good health, good marriages and relationships, i.e. to live generally prosperous lives in all areas. Word of Faith teaches that God empowers his people (blesses them) to achieve the promises that are contained in the Bible.[SUP][5][/SUP] Because of this, suffering does not come from God, but rather, from Satan. As Kenneth Copeland's ministry has stated, the idea that God uses suffering for our benefit is considered to be "a deception of Satan" and "absolutely against the Word of God." [SUP][6][/SUP] Additionally, if someone is not experiencing prosperity, it is because they have given Satan authority over their lives. God will not do anything at all unless the person invites him to.[SUP][7][/SUP]
It is argued that Jesus and the apostles were financially wealthy,[SUP][8][/SUP] owning homes, having monetary resources and businesses. The following arguments have been offered for this claim:

  1. Jesus' ability to travel without apparently working to earn a living for three years
  2. References by Jesus and the apostles to owning homes[SUP][9][/SUP]
  3. Jesus had a treasurer (Judas Iscariot)[SUP][9][/SUP]
  4. Jesus consorting with the upper echelons of society
  5. The businesses that each of the apostles apparently owned/worked in[SUP][10][/SUP]
This is contrary to the traditional view of Jesus, who is often viewed as being a poor, wandering teacher.[SUP][11][/SUP] Based on the concept that Jesus and his apostles were arguably wealthy, as well as the historical examples of his people having great wealth, and the promises for financial prosperity throughout the Old and New Testaments, Word of Faith proponents teach that modern believers also have access to the "blessing" and may also become financially wealthy.[SUP][12][/SUP] Teachers like Kenneth Copeland assert the concept of total prosperity is validated by the teachings of the Apostle John: "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" (3 John 2[SUP][bible 5][/SUP]). Copeland posits that “as the seeds of prosperity are planted in your heart, in your will and in your emotions...they eventually produce a great financial harvest."[SUP][13]

Paul chose to labor and not take from them.. He made that clear.. He was also told that He would suffer for the Kingdom.. individuals, choose faith and obedience, I cannot nor can anyone have what they reject.

I has been my experience that those that spend their time maligning others in the body of Christ that believe somewhat differently then they do on a subject - are really just living in malice towards them that have a different view of Christ's work for us.

This is just as destructive as any possible "mis-applying" of some truth.

None of us know it all and Paul says that those that think they know anything - don't know it as we ought to know it. We only know in part and see through a glass darkly which is why we need each other.

I don't agree with people calling themselves Prophet or Apostle so and so. But this applies to people calling themselves Pastor or Evangelist, or teacher too. The exact same principle is in operation here - it's just that our religious upbringing has made this acceptable to us.

BUT I am not going to bad-mouth them because they do call themselves by a certain title. That is un-Christ like behavior and is just causing trouble and divisions in the body of Christ.

If paul was wealthy, he would never have to ask (you missed the whole point)

why did God not make it so he was wealthy and did not need from others?

Remember, as a pharisee, Saul was one of the most wealthy men in rome. what happened to all his wealth?

Luke 9:57As they were going along the road, someone said to Him, “I will follow You wherever You go.” 58And Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.

This proves that Jesus wasn't wealthy like the WOF claims. Neither were His disciples, for they forsook all to follow Him.

Paul, as the apostle to all Gentile churches Should have had a mansion in every city, Been led around on the most expensive form of transportation, with all kinds of slaves to take care of his every need, He should have dressed in the finest clothing, and been waited on hand and foot. So he could focus on teaching to the people..

oops. wait That is living in a fantasy world.

It has nothign to do with weather I understand or not. It has to do with what you say

You can not preach wealth, then say a person is so poor he has ot be led to water, and if he does not take any, its his fault.

if a person is wealthy, He has his own water, and does not need to be led anywhere.

God promised he would take care of my needs, And give me whatever I need to do his will

He never promised he would give me more than I need, or that I need to be disease free..

The Gospel of Wealth

"It's a matter of your faith. You got one-dollar faith, and you ask for a ten thousand-dollar item, it ain't gonna work. It won't work. Jesus said, "According to your faith", not "according to His will, if He can work it into His busy schedule." He said, "according to your faith be it unto you." Now I may want a Rolls Royce and don't have but bicycle faith. Guess what I'm gonna get? A bicycle" (Frederick K.C. Price, "Praise the Lord" broadcast on TBN, 21 September 1990, taken from Documentation forChristianity in Crisis by Hank Hanegraaff). The cardinal fault with the prosperity gospel is one central tenet: God wills the financial prosperity of every Christian, therefore, for a believer to live in poverty is living outside God's intended will. Normally tucked away somewhere is another affirmation: Since we are God's children, we should always go first class, we should have the biggest and the best. Only this brings glory to God!No matter how much one tries to clothe the above affirmations in Biblical garb, it is simply not Biblical. Again, poor scripture interpretation is employed by the faith movement.
To substantiate their teachings, proponents of the prosperity gospel distort the meaning of certain Bible passages. One such passage, frequently quoted is 3 John 2. John began his letter with a friendly greeting, expressing his desire that Gaius "may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers".
Kenneth Copeland explains this verse on page 51 of his book, The Laws of Prosperity, says, "You must realize that it is God's will for you to prosper. This is available to you, and frankly, it would be stupid of you not to partake of it".
This verse, however, according to James Bjornstad in his article, "What's Behind the Prosperity Gospel?", published by Moody Monthly in the 1986 issue, "is nothing more than John's personal wish for Gaius. We should not take it as an universal promise or guarantee of health and wealth".
The Greek word translated "prosper" in the KJV means "to go well with someone". This wish for "things to go well" and for "good health" was the standard form of greeting in personal letter of antiquity, just as a friend today might say, "I hope this letter finds you all well".
