the Nazerite vow (not Nazareth) never involved not EVER cutting the hair , but rather was for a set time..
Num 6:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD:
Num 6:3 He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
Num 6:4 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.
Num 6:5 All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
Num 6:6 All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body.
Num 6:7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.
Num 6:8 All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD.
the only acception to this was 2 cases one was Samson, and the other was John the Baptist. These two were appointed to be nazarites from birth. ptherwise it was for a set time then after this time expired they were actually required to shave off all their hair.
Paul is also shown having fulfilled the vow that spoke of Christ suffering beforehand ..
Act 18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
The Nazarene denomination is the first sect mentioned on this side of the cross. This helps us understand that there is no thing called non denomination. The kingdom of God is not of this world. We walk by faith.
The seven locks speak of all the hair in its entirety. It is simply a way of saying the hair is not to be cut when used to represent a vow.
It as a ceremonial law had no way to make the conscience perfect seeing it is not a moral law.
The cutting of one’s hair speaks of shame. A doctrine used in many places throughout the scripture to represent being cut off from the land of the living to represent, the shame Christ went through.
It was similar to the circumcision ceremonial law that also looked ahead to the demonstration when the veil was rent according to our bloody husband, Christ ..Used as sign unto the head to develop the proper new reformed order.
The vow was for a specific time period which either ended when the vowed days were up or a violation showing shame, like touching a dead body or ended when the person did die to show they were under the head ship of God.
All the days that he separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body. He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head. And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it. Num 6:9
Isaiah gives us some insight of the hair ordinance that does speak of shame if cut off or plucked out.
Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from”shame and spitting”.
The vow like all ceremonial laws was a sign for the angels who longed to look into salvation, seeing they are not subject to they have no personal understanding of grace . It pointed ahead to the suffering of Christ and the glory that followed.
It was used to look ahead as part of the gospel in order to represent the new reformed headship order which began when as a shadow the veil was rent. This signaled the new order according to 1 Corinthians 11.
Today it is used along with the drinking of the blood of grapes and the eating of bread to show Christ fulfilled the kind of fast needed to expel lying spirits . Where the blood of grapes and bread indicated by the use of kernel as metaphor that speaks of the gospel are now permitted. as the reformed ceremonial law that some call the breaking of bread representing our marriage supper we will receive in our new bodies consummating the promised union.
The requirement before the veil was rent.
He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. Num 6:3
It would seem that one part of that ceremonial law, the non-eating drinking part in regard to the head of hair not covered with the man, and the hair covered with the woman is no longer needed in respect to the new kind of restored government as to its new headship order .
Today men are seen wearing a coverings in a place of assembling for that purpose and women are not covering their hair as a glory that speaks of the hidden glory of Christ our head. It seems all but lost to be used as a sign for the angels .
Some dismiss it as a fleeting fashion statement that was meant for a period or other make the covering, the hair,as that which should be covered..
