I read an article on answers.com that said pizza was leavened bread. If that be so, is pizza Kosher?

What?! Is there really Kosher bacon? How does that work?
Turkey bacon... which is like veggie "burger" to me... an absolute fraud. Why mimic something else? Why not create something unique if you're going to abandon the good stuff God made?

Hebrew National hot dogs are kosher....slice them up and put on a pizza...made of unleavened dough....then you have a true kosher pizza and you can do that circle dance thing celebrating around the pizza :D.....

Eating pizza is a very Christian thing to do. Great fellowship around a pie with all the favorite topping on it. Even the kids like pizza.

I meant to say on packages they have the kosher symbol if kosher.. here I can go to the local store and pick up anything and if it has the symbol it's prepared in a kosher ran facility.

There are many ideas/stipulations etc out there in the world about what is considered "kosher" food and what is not. One needs to ask God for guidance, discernment and use common sense.
If the food is healthy, good for the body etc, eat it, if its not, then don't. Besides, no one is perfect, we all make mistakes in our food choices and life choices, so don't be too hard on yourself and others. Just pray, ask God's blessings and enjoy! :)

Kosher in what form of Judaism? Orthodox Judaism grew out of the religion of the Pharisees, which kind of took over the religion some time after the temple was destroyed (which was the power base of the Saducee/Zadokite priests who were powerful in the religion earlier.) The main branches of Orthodox Judaism are Sephardic and Ashkenazic branches of Judaism. Both Orthodox groups would not allow the eating of milk and meat together because of traditional interpretations. The Old Testament actually forbids eating a calf or goat cooked in its mother's milk, but Orthodox Jews do not allow chicken and cheese sandwiches. No milk and meat.

So if there is a kosher cheese pizza from a kosher kitchen, it would be considered kosher. Otherwise, if you put kosher sausage on it along with the cheese, Orthodox Jews would not consider it to be kosher.

If I understand correctly, cheese could be nonkosher if the rennet used to make the cheese was from a calf that was not slaughtered kosher.

There are Kariate Jews, which only believe the Old Testament, but not the Talmud and some of the other traditional writings. I am not sure, but I suspect they would be okay with kosher sausage if the animal it came from was slaughtered kosher and the cheese was kosher and not from the mother of the animal used to make the sausage, they may be okay with pizza.

You couldn't have pork toppings, of course. Pork is not kosher.

Btw, I read that some giraffe was kosher if slaughtered properly.

Kosher has nothing to do with leavened bread, now kosher for Passover has to do with that but the term kosher in general has nothing to do with leavened or unleavened bread, but rather the ingredience used and the facility in which it is prepared.

That looks delicious.

I've never seen it before. Never really looked either.

I still have some deer bacon in the freezer from last years dear. That stuff is pretty good too. Not as good as pork bacon.
