For those who believe that it is legalism to obey God I say this: Acts:5:32: "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." The Holy Spirit is only given to them that obey God. And I will ad this from Romans:1:5: "By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:" Grace was given to us FOR obedience to the faith. Without the grace (power) of God we couldn't obey one iota of God's commands, and believe me there are many commands in the new testament that MUST be obeyed. And many commands tell us that if we do these things we will not inherit the kingdom of God. Works will not earn anything. Works and obedience are the fruit of faith. Jesus said "If you love me keep My commandments." If we Love God, which is the first commandment from Jesus it would be impossible to break one of the first four commandments. If we love our neighbor as ourselves it would be impossible to break one of the last six commandments.

The sabbath is not an important issue yet, but soon, when we are forced to worship a certain way by man we had better be doing it God's way or we will be lost. We better make certain we know what God's way is, and I can guaranty you He does have a specific way and day to worship Him on.

Sunday is the correct day to have church assembly as a must, but any day is ok to worship God. We are no longer under the sabbath Saturday nor any other part of the old physical law.

The Sabbath was not changed to Sunday by Constantine or anyone else. Sunday is a different day completely that does not replace anything.

A sabbath day, the day God rested, does the bible say God started creation on a Sunday or Monday no not at all, the first day was day 1. scripture says the sun the moon and stars are for the days, weeks, months, seasons. The moon cycle a month is right around 29 days, the sun cycle each day is around 24 hours and or by using the Polaris star.

do people use any of this today yes the Hebrew calander is somewhat close, which month in the Gregorian calandar has 29 days in it none except in a leap year February does, and all the other months have 30 or 31 days clearly that's not set by the moon phases. the gregorian calander is basically the Julian calander revised which was introduced in 47BC.

There are around 40 different calendars in use today which calandar do you go by???

Time or calandar per say was created for man to know, God doesn't need a calandar nor is He bound by time like us humans.

I agree. God is not bound by time like we are but you can bet that the creator of the universe has the power to protect His word, and make certain mankind, the crowning act of creation are following the timeline He has made for them, the seven day week!

No matter how deceived humanity is by humanity inspired by satan, the Holy Spirit will keep God's people on track if we obey Him and ask Him to through prayer and sometimes fasting.

God bless

BeyondET,

The Sabbath that the Messiah honored was the Sabbath that his fellow countrymen used. They had honored it for centuries. If He had been honoring it on the incorrect day, then He would have been in violation of the Commandment and therefore not sinless.

So assuming that the Messiah knew which day of the week the Sabbath was on, we can know what day it is today. Although the calendar in use, a Roman calendar, has been changed, that change did not break the weekly cycle. Prior to the change, it was called the Julian calendar because it originated at the time of Julius Caesar, 45 B.C. - several decades before the birth of the Messiah. The one change was ordered by Pope Gregory, and since then it has been called the Gregorian calendar. However, as mentioned above, the change did not alter the weekly cycle. The "Catholic Encyclopedia", Vol. 9, p. 251, under the article "Lilius" says, regarding this change, that "every imaginable proposition was made, only one idea was never mentioned, viz, the abandonment of the seven-day week". Vol. 3, p. 740, under the article "Chronology", the same reference, says that "It is to be noted that in the Christian period, the order of days in the week has never been interrupted". So it would seem that the weekly cycle of the calendar that has been in effect since 45 B.C. has never had any alteration from the time of the Messiah until now. The Saturday of today is the same seventh day of the week as it was in the Messiah's time. One could, therefore, be pretty sure that they would be keeping the same Sabbath day that the Messiah kept, setting an example - the same day He said He was Lord of.

"The week of seven days has been in use ever since the days of the Mosaic dispensation, and we have no reason for supposing that any irregularities have existed in the succession of weeks and their days from that time to the present." --Dr. W.W. Campbell, Statement. [Dr. Campbell was Director of Lick Observatory, Mt. Hamilton, California.]

"As far as I know, in the various changes of the Calendar there has been no change in the seven day rota of the week, which has come down from very early times." --F.W. Dyson, Personal letter, dated March 4, 1932. [Dr. Dyson was Astronomer Royal, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London.]

"I can only state that in connection with the proposed simplification of the calendar, we have had occasion to investigate the results of the works of specialists in chronology and we have never found one of them that has ever had the slightest doubt the continuity of the weekly cycle since long before the Christian era. So there has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in any way the cycle of the week." --James robertson, personal letter, dated March 12, 1932. [Dr. robertson was Director of the American Ephemeris, Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C.]

"In spite of all of our dickerings with the calendar, it is patent that the human race never lost the septenary [seven-day] sequence of week days and that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, through the ages, without a single lapse." --Dr. Totten, Statement. [Dr. Totten of New Haven, Connecticut, was Professor of Astronomy at Yale University when this statement was made.]

The "Catholic Encyclopedia", Vol. 3, p. 740, article "Chronology" says: "It is to be noted that in the Christian period, the order of days in the week has never been interrupted."

If you have documentation that shows that the seven day cycle has been interrupted at some point between the first century and now I would very much like to see it.

Torah matters are often too difficult for me. The Torah way is to consult the Levitical priests.

DEUTERONOMY 17:9 Go to the Levitical priests and the judge who is serving at that time. Ask for their opinion, and they will give you their verdict
DEUTERONOMY 17:10 at the place that the LORD will choose. Do what they tell you. Follow all their instructions carefully.

The catholic church along with the leaders of every mainstream denomination also state that the seventh day (Saturday) is the sabbath.

I always carry, in my bible, a document of over 100 languages and what they call the days of the week. I know your statement has more to do with the accuracy of when the first day, second day ETC is. But on this document it shows that about 85-90% of languages use the word sabbath or something very similar for the seventh day. Some languages still number the days but use sabbath for the seventh. Very interesting document.
