Dear brothers and sisters,

I value your input

Sometimes when I pray I get answers from God direct. I feel my prayers have arrived and sometimes hear his voice and I know that my prayers wil be answered. And it happens!

But sometimes when I pray I dont get that feeling. I dont get the feeling my prayers have arrived at God. I do not live in sin, so I dont know why I sometimes get this feeling.

Does anybody know? I value your input and will pray about it.

Sometimes when a child is learning to ride a bicycle the one helping them will let got and allow the child to learn to balance themselves.... so it is with us, our faith and trust in Him must be exercised... we have his promises in His word that when we pray he hears us if we don't regard sin in our lives... just knw he hears and trust Him... He well knows what we need and when we need it, rather it be reassurance or any other thing.

Keep your spiritual eyes n ears open, sometimes a prayer may take time to manafest for what ever reason God has set forth.
sometimes prayers can come through another person as well or a experience that hasn't yet been experienced or even the prayer is for another time not to be known yet, just have faith His timing and reason is for a purpose.

Prayer is certainly essential for the christian and thats awesome to hear that you are taking the time to pray. To me God knows your heart and your prayers before you even pray them so i wouldn't get to worried over the i cant feel anything happening moment.
Know that you are loved by Christ so much that he prays for you on your behalf, in those times. In fact he is our mediator and he forever lives to intercede on our behalf. Remember when Peter denied Christ three times and Christ afterwards told Peter that i have been praying for you so that your faith will not fail. e should as Christians take great comfort in knowing that Christ prays for us.

Secondly just because you dont feel anything doesn't mean nothing worked. We as Christians live out our Christian life by what we KNOW to be TRUE and GOOD. We are people who have been changed and though we still live in a fallen world it is in the Word of God where we find our answers to our prayers. When we open up our bibles and read the words of Christ that we are strengthened day by day.

Thirdly, prayer is characterized by its content not so much the act. The transition from praying for what you want and need to now praying to simply thank God and praise him is the transition from a babe in Christ to a mature Christian. We pray yes for God to answer our needs and concerns and thats not wrong but let us always pray that Gods name be praised even if he doesnt answer our prayers at all. God knows whats best for us than we do and sometimes he doesnt answer our prayers for our good. :p

Lastly, prayer is simply to commune with God. To talk to him as a person since we have access into his presence. To know him and listen to him is to receive what he has given us, namely the divine scriptures, the revealed Word. He has made himself known through Christ and through his Word.

I hope that helps a little bit.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say "the just shall live by feelings".

Amen...well said! I gave you a rep for that one....:)

Feeling by themselves are not barometers of truth. Feelings not birthed from the truth of what Christ has already done for us and from who we are in Christ now because we are a new creation in Him joined as one spirit - these "feelings" can become strongholds in our minds that the enemy can oppress us and use to deceive us.

But greater is He that is in us - then he that is in the world.

Our Heavenly Father always hears our prayers. He does not always answer them quickly or in the manner in which we desire. Sometimes He answers no other times He answers wait.

Wisdom comes when we allow God to do in our lives what is best and to know that it is He Who ministers to our needs.

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

For the cause of Christ

"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." (James 4:3)

By the way, lest we forget, seeing that the Lord Jesus Christ demands of any that would follow Him and belong to Him, that we must deny ourselves, which does not exclude when we pray.

Well angelique let me put it to you this way? I would never base prayer on the idea of my feelings whether I feel good about prayers or whether I feel bad about my prayers. This is because your feeling are "subjective" which means you cannot trust your feelings.

I would give you the following advice on how you know something is of God or confirmed based on the leadings of the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit leadings are "CONFIRMED" when "REALITY" demonstrates that He/God is right! Think about that statement? God is "NEVER" wrong and He always has your best interest in view. Does that make sense?

IN GOD THE SON,

First, if you believe you commit no sin, you are likely in error, since I doubt many of us have reached that stage yet. However, sometimes the Lord can't answer our prayers immediately because there a several things we have to learn before we'll understand the answer. Still, the Lord hears all our prayers.
