Seen a lot of discussion here about salvation. And about one saved or not ect ect, the full extent of grace ect.

just wanted to remind everyone about a few things which are obvious and in the bible:

1. We are not here to see how much sin we can get away with while sneaking into heaven
2. Paul's word in 1 Tim 1:15-16 about how he identifies in Christ
3. The story of the Pharisee who prayed as if justified in the eyes of The Lord while the sinner stood stood far off

i do realize we are under different circumstances than the Pharisee and sinner

- are we under law or grace? Grace. But how shall we boast of this grace ?
- by somehow searching and combing the scripture to reconcile what is eternally written and makes sense in the scheme of eternity while we are living in time and have no real understanding of eternity ? Or ...
- with thanksgiving and praise of God take each day as a blessing and do not try to gain a sense of eternal security when clearly we should be rejoicing in his strength and provision daily knowing He will empower us to run the race to completion

so I guess the question here is simple : why are we so eager to discuss this matter of salvation and hold on to such a debated and complicate doctrine ?
I would venture to guess for many it is a source of self comfort? Or we wish to comfort and teach others with this assurance ?

But our comfort should come from God, not in doctrine or interpretation of even His word. It should come from the fellowship we share with God through prayer, which is communication with Him, reading His word, and testifying of His goodness...
it makes no sense to me why people debate these things so much....

it makes my head hurt and I'd rather step outside, lay in the lawn and just praise him or dance to a song and it fills me with joy and i find I'm so filled I'm often on the brink of laughter or even bursting into laughter just thinking about God

we are all one body working in unity to achieve the prize right? We're all trusting in the faithfulness of Jesus right? So what's all this discussion about? What's the real motive in which we rack out brains and search our bibles to find some sort of explanation for what we already know in our hearts to be true?

Well ill I guess this is a question for you theologians out there ! We certainly all have different callings, so maybe your calling just confuses me cause my calling is different...

my hope is that the positive parts of this post would reach the right ears.

I honestly think the internet leaves a lot to be desired. Because we can't genuinely know one another in truth via the intrawebs, our posts are going to be misconstrued and we'll have misunderstanding with one another. If we were all face to face, perhaps in a fellowship hall where we can sit and eat cookies and drink coffee, I highly doubt we'd have all the debating and contention.

But we're not in a hall. We're on the world wide web. And there's site rules & regulations to keep the debates down to a minimum. For myself, I'm just gonna keep out of debates and post where I feel I have something to say. If it looks like trouble is a'brewin'... I'm just gonna sit back and eat popcorn and stay out of trouble.

oh yes,

our comfort and self-assurance should/can only come from our Saviour -

each and every one of us are on our own individual journey as He has planned,
just like our finger prints, individual and unique...we must only compare our lives
as He compares ours to His and how we are following in His footsteps...

His rules and regulations are written in stone, and for us, this is the only path that
we will follow...we tried most of the others, and found out where they led us to...
