luke 8: 10-15 "He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’
“This is the meaning of the parable: The SEED IS THE WORD OF GOD. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then THE DEVIL COMES AND TAKES AWAY THE WORD THAT WAS SOWN IN THIER HEART, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who RECEIVE THE WORD WITH JOY when THEY HEAR it, but they have no root. They BELIEVE FOR AWHILE, but IN THE TIME OF TESTING, THEY FALL AWAY. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those WHO HEAR, but as they go on their way they are choked by LIFES WORRIES, RICHES and PLEASURES, and THEY DO NOT MATURE. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who HEAR THE WORD, RETAIN IT , and BY PERSEVERING produce a CROP."
Luke 6:46-49 "Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the FOUNDATION ON THE ROCK. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was WELL BUILT. But the one who hears my words and DOES NOT PUT THEM INTO PRACTICE is like a man who built a house on the ground WITHOUT A FOUNDATION. The moment the torrent struck that house, IT COLLAPSED and ITS DESTRUCTION was complete.”
james 1:12-25 "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having STOOD THE TEST, that person will receive the CROWN OF LIFE that the Lord has promised to THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. ( see john 14-16) When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by THIER OWN EVIL DESIRE and enticed. Then, after DESIRE HAS CONCIEVED, it GIVES BIRTH TO SIN; and sin, when it is full-grown, GIVES BIRTH TO DEATH.
DO NOT BE DECIEVED, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. HE CHOSE TO GIVE US BIRTH THROUGH THE WORD OF TRUTH, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,because human anger does not produce the RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT GOD DESIRES. Therefore, GET RID OF ALL MORAL FILTH and the EVIL THAT IS SO PREVALENT, and HUMBLY ACCEPT THE WORD PLANTED IN YOU, which CAN SAVE YOU. ( 1 peter 1:23, john 6:63)
DO NOT MERELY LISTEN TO THE WORD, and so DECEIVE YOURSELVES. DO WHAT IT SAYS. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks INTENTLY into the perfect law that GIVES FREEDOM, and CONTINUES IN IT—not forgetting what they have heard, but DOING IT—they will be blessed in what they do."
