Thank God Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves, eh?

Absolutely agree ! there are things He did and does that we will never be able to do for ourselves...so we are not talking about those things. But does that mean we have to be forever helpless like little children or maimed and handicapped people ? No, Jesus HEALS us of all our weaknessess and infirmities so we can become functional Beings who might otherwise never be able to do anything worthwhile.
Don't sell God short at what He can do for us, but we need to trust Him He will still look after us once we let go of His apron-strings - and He will ! Jesus is not going to carry us for all eternity - one day He will deliver us into His Father's Kgd and we'd better be able to walk - it is not a nursery for the helpless. NOW is the time to be healed and learn to walk.

[h=1]2 Corinthians 12:10

"That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."[/h]

2 Corinthians 12:10

Are you sure you even had time to READ my post, the speed with which you replied ?
I was talking of spiritual healing.

I was talking of spiritual healing.

Faith says, "I can't, only you can Lord". That is not something to be healed from nor that you should desire to be healed from.

Wasn't the lie that Lucifer deceived Eve with in the Garden of Eden, the lie that to disobey God is ok, and profitable? Isn't that the same lie that Lucifer is selling the world today? That it is ok, and even profitable to disobey God?

Shall we continue in sin, because Christ died for us? Yes or no?

If we continue in sin, did Christ die for nothing? Yes or no?

Doing the law physically expired when Christ nailed it to the cross (Colossians 2:14). But God's same law still exists, it's just that we do it spiritually now instead of physically. For example, if we hate our brother we are already guilty of murder whether we carry it out physically or not. This is why we no longer physically sacrifice a physically perfect lamb, or physically kill the enemies of God like David killed his tens of thousands. (Ephesians 6:10-20).

There is a reason that God wrote the commandments in stone. What do we mean when we say "you can write that in stone"?

Without them, where would we be today? Where will we be tomorrow?

Why are we so desperate to find an excuse for not keeping them?

This is why God said that in the new covenant He would write His law on our hearts and minds- because He switched from physical to spiritual. Again, Gods law was not nailed to the cross- just the physical way of doing His law.

Do you think that Ananias and Sapphira would agree wth you?

The lie was the promise that we could be "like God". And man has been thinking it true and trying to fulfill that promise ever since.

Shall we continue in sin, because Christ died for us? Yes or no?

God forbid.

If we continue in sin, did Christ die for nothing? Yes or no?

It is the setting aside of the grace of God, thinking that righteousness can be gained through the Law, that is to say that Christ died for nothing.

The 10 commandments were called the ministry of condemnation and of death by Paul. We can trust the life of Christ in us to live godly in this world.

The 10 commandments are called the "letter that kills" and the "ministry of death" - The New Covenant is called the "ministry of the Spirit" that brings Life.

The 10 commandments were called "the ministry of condemnation" - the New Covenant is called "the ministry of righteousness." This is Christ's righteousness given to us that believe.

2 Corinthians 3:6-9 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

[SUP]7 [/SUP] But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,

[SUP]8 [/SUP] how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?

[SUP]9 [/SUP] For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.

The law of Moses including the 10 commandments are like an x-ray machine - they show up things that are wrong but the x-ray machine has no power to "fix it".

It just reveals what is wrong. It's the same here for Christ Himself and His life in our new hearts is the only thing that can "fix us" with a transformed live.

Did the law actually expire? Didn't Jesus say that he wasn't come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. The law wasn't a bad thing but man could not keep the law because of our sinful nature. Jesus came to fulfill it so that he could be our strength and help us through his grace.
Matthew 5:17-20
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Using you thought process, again, what about Ananias and Sapphira?

How long in one go would you say you keep all the commandments?
A year? A month? A week? (A day?) I know that I lie to myself almost every day, who knows how often I lie to others...

Do you not see that they cannot be kept?
They are there for a reason. TO teach us how to behave ourselves. .... but we are now judged according to Christ's sacrifice, not the law. We have our names written in THE Book. Not the lawbook. :D

I am not at all saying that any one is saved by keeping the 10 Commandments. However, I think if you are saved that you will strive to keep the 10 Commandments because you love Jesus. John 14:15,

"If ye love me, keep my Commandments"
