Am curious to ask everyone their thoughts on what the purpose of our life is to be after our new birth?

Debating doctrine?
God’s purpose for us

Though we claim to be sons of God((psa82:6,,john10:34-36)), God never cease to be the Supreme Being worthy of all praise, glory, honor, service, thanksgiving & worship. Though He is our Father, He still is our master and we are His servants. His purpose prevails and not our own. It says in Luke 17:10 *So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” BUT THE DISOBEDIENCE OF MAN TO GOD HIS CREATOR, LED TO SIN AND RESULTED TO HIS DEATH(rom 6:23). Man has not done what God has purposed for him to do and got separated from God, thus, death reigned in sinful man.

God is a spirit(john 4:24) and the spirit gives life(john 6:63). Without the spirit man is dead in the sight of God and that’s what we all are, before we receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ(gal 3:14) who is the life-giving spirit(1cor 15:45). Without the spirit, man is dead and is therefore VAIN AND WITHOUT A PURPOSE.

Now after being born again in the spirit(john3:3-7),it is no longer us who lives but it is Christ(spirit) who lives in us(gal2;20) and does every good work according to God’s purpose for us.

For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.(phil 2:13) and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.(rom 8:28) according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,(eph 1:11)

If it is God (Spirit) who works in us, then we, being the body of Christ who is the head(col 1:18,eph5:23) only works accdg to God’s purpose because nature tells us that the head controls the body and it is written in 1 Corinthians 11:3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Therefore, being servants of God, His purpose for us is to Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man(eccle12:13)and to do the good works in service to God thru faith expressing itself in LOVE.(gal 5:6)

All good thoughts. But, no one mentioned debating doctrine. :)

I think it is good to see how all see. If we can accept that it is the gospel alone that brings unity.

Can our purpose change as we grow?
When we die to self and take on Christ, it is absorbing. Nothing we think or do after that is quite the same. We live in a world that discourages any discussion of this part of our life yet God has a different plan for every person. It is not natural to never speak of what so absorbs our life.

The problem comes in when it is done without Christ in the middle of the discussion. When Christ is there, we love the person we are speaking to with acceptance of who he is and what he thinks. We are to judge during the discussion, but only of what is sin and what is not, never judging the person you are discussing scripture with. That way, both can disagree about scripture but it is never a disagreement about the rights of another to hold their understanding of scripture. The Lord tells us He will repay, it isn't up to us.

The Lord gives us free will, and we aren't powerful like the Lord. Certainly we should give others the right to have free will.

Ephesians 4:11-14

King James version(KJV)

11.)And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12.)For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13.)Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14.)That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

It is a narrow road we walk! Certainly you are to remind me that we are to all be unified in our faith. Just as I am to remind you that we must not judge each other but accept each other in love. We also are not to allow uncleanliness in our churches. We are to meet together as we are doing here and in our churches. We are to reason together:
Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD.

The Lord has only one way and we have many denominations with different doctrines, the truth is there is only one true doctrine. Now, more than ever, we need to reason together and judge false prophets and sin.

We also need to remember Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

I don't understand why Christians are so confused about what their purpose in life is. This is the ABC's of Christianity.
Most Christians understand this already, but I know that there are some baby Christians in this chat room and some Christians that have only been saved for a couple of years. That's cool because Christians are supposed to teach one another the Word of God. I'm a rookie when it comes to ministry but that doesn't matter. Whom God calls he equips. God called me to the Ministry at age 15. I wasn't ready then. Now I'm ready at the young age of 41. God has called me to the Street Ministry to work with the homeless. Street Ministry is one of the hardest ministries but it is very needed. People who are addicted to drugs and alcohol need to know that there is a better way. They need to know that God is the only way that things can change. I pray that God will use me in a mighty way to reach the lost. What is our purpose? Its very simple. Why did God create us? Man was created in the image and likeness of God. He created us to bring glory and honor to Him. Its all about preaching the Word of God and reaching lost souls by showing the love of God that is inside of us.
1. Five Fold Ministry Pastor, Teacher, Prophet, Evangelist, and Apostle Ephesians 4:11
2. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord Romans6:23
3. And this is eternal life that they may know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent John17:3
4. No condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1-2
To God be the Glory Preacha24-7 Evangelist to the Streets (minister to the homeless)

first it is a bible discussion forum and second, true doctrine is very important, false doctrine is very destructive.

The first true Doctrine

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." <<<this would have kept Life if followed.

The first false doctrine

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

the result of following the false doctrine

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.17And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: 23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."

Our purpose in Life, is to Learn from Jesus, apply His word to our Lives, and Share His Gospel to others because it is the difference between an eternity in Life and peace and Glory we cannot comprehend, and torment that we cannot comprehend. the bible is true and it is serious business and "doctrine" will determine belief

Hi followJesus

I don't disagree with anything in your post. Its very important to understand the beginning of this age of grace. I just noticed that theres one thing I would add to it.

The promise! The seed of the woman who crushes the head of the serpent. Theres the beginning of our purpose in this life.

Our purpose is to bring heaven on earth. Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven. Our duty as Christians is evangelism. To preach the Word and lead people to Christ.

I'm very impressed by the younger believers who are now coming on the scene. And I listen to quite a few of them. Theres now miracles happening on a regular basis in the streets that aren't being heralded in the news, or broadcasted about in churches.
Some on periscope, some on facebook...they've caught the message of bringing the kingdom of God to earth. Something I never heard taught before. The manifested Sons have come quietly on scene with a fire in their hearts for Him alone.

Some may even be here.

Not to say that we who are older haven't had experiences too. I just see a difference...rather than one here and another there standing out...its a multitude.

I think Gods' purpose is that we be prepared for the weight of His glory. Living stones in the heavenly temple that are being prepared for the weight of His glory!

I totally agree with you stunned...and I love your user name.

I see what you've posted as a pure heart. Not all think we can have this. Am wondering if this is the daystar?

~2Pe_1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Our purpose.

1. To make disciples
2. To be a light shining forth in darkness
3. To draw people to God
4. To allow God to sanctify us, so we look more like him
5. To grow in knowledge of who and what God is, who we are. and what God desires from us.

Just to name a few.

~Who will hear what saith, the Spirit to the churches?
Who will heed My Spirit, and My Words commands?
Who will hear the secrets...now being unburdened?
This is one I seek...I will make him to stand.
For this is the day..of the Lord and His coming
Bringing forth My chosen..My one new man
This is the day you will weep at my altar
Weeping 'tween the porch and the altar of the Lamb

Are you weeping now my children..weeping standing for man?

Weeping now between the porch, and the altar of the Lamb..

Our goal hear on earth is to overcome the world.

Revelation 2:7(KJV)
*He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Well our main purpose is to please God. The Bible says our existence is for Gods good pleasure- that's the meaning of life- to please God. And how do we please Him? By obeying Him. What does He say to do? To go into all the world and teach everything that HE has commanded (not what the pope commands, or all the other false prophets). Therefore, yes, we are to teach God's doctrine and not man's doctrine. Well how do we know the difference? By making sure it matches the New Testament- which is debate.

Just make sure it is "debate" and not "argue". Arguing is a tennis ball going back and forth "Yes it is, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not." Do not engage in this. Jesus says if they won't listen to truth, dust off your feet and go to the next person. Debating is having something new for them to consider each time, in a respectful manner. As soon as you notice the same things are being said, leave the conversation.

"They worship Me in vain- their doctrine is merely human rules." False religions do not save, therefore truth is needed to save souls- that's a Christian's job- to show the lost life-saving truth.

Yes,we obey GOD because we love HIM and we love HIM because HE first loved us.:)
