Send your kids to public school and have them learn the lies of science class or send them to private school where they can learn the Truth.

How about it?

My reply: If they're strong in the faith and in public school, leave them there. Encourage them to gather other believers and pray before school starts and to start a Bible Club or Christian Club.
My daughters joined such groups and they had an influence on hundreds of kids in the school. Many of them never stepped inside a church except for weddings, funerals, Easter and Christmas.

Many kids in public schools go through things that I couldn't even phantom when I was younger:

Divorce, cutting, thoughts of suicide, homosexuality.

My daughters saved dozens of school kids from the enemy!

On the other hand, if you can afford private school, go for it.

I always went to the public school system despite coming from a very conservative family. I wouldnt want it any other way to be honest. Honestly I find private schools here are much worse in terms of bullying, immorality etc. Once they get a job, there's no such thing as a 'private work place', you're in with all sorts of people.

I went fifty-fifty. Two home schooled, two public schooled. The important thing is that, even in the case of the public schooled, I was actively educating them. My kids know more about evolution on the day they walked into the class then most students knew when they finished it. This enabled them to not be swayed by the propaganda. I did this with the sciences, the humanities, and the social studies. Alas, my children far exceeded me in math. lol.

The good thing about a child that believes the truth, and represents goodness, and is in public school,is they can be a witness to people.

The bad thing about a child that believes the truth, and represents goodness, and is in public school,is they will be hassled by some kids.

The Bible says that at the last days they will be despisers of those who are good.

My friend took his daughter out of public school because she was hassled a lot for representing goodness.

Alternatively, how about we send them to private school, where they're drowned every day in the theory of Christianity until their hearts are cold to the practice of it? Nothing breeds contempt for a subject like having to study it for a test.

Public schools are not for anyone. You would think in an alleged democracy and capitalist society that they wouldn't have public schools but have much more privet schools available to everyone, I mean we have wall-mart and target and we choose the best one to shop at but most people don't have a different choice other then the high quality education our government provides for our children with our money weather we like it or not.

I'm graduating in like 2 weeks =D

I've been public schooled all my life. I don't particularly enjoy public school, seeing as the education is horrible. I also was fortunate (and also unfortunate in some ways) to have teachers who would refuse to teach evolution as fact.

However, I would have LOVED to have a teacher who fully believed in evolution and could explain the holes in the theory to me (holes I had found independently of Christian sites btw, I'm a bright kid =P). I did have one teacher, but he refused to talk about it.

Anyway, if you rad up yourself on evolution and get an HONEST assessment of how it's taught, then teach your kids what evolution theory says. Then explain how it isn't proven, and the theory actually has plenty of mistakes in it and shouldn't be regarded as 100% credible fact. If you can get that message across to your kids, then they should be safe regarding the science issue.

As far as education QUALITY in every other subject, I'm pretty sure private schools would be better, especially in higher-level math (anything AlgII+). I took a year of Trig and we only went though 2 chapters and took 3 tests. Didn't learn a thing XD Now I'm somehow getting an A+ in calculus in an online course even though I hardly know any trig... lol

"have them learn the lies of science class"

So, it is sorta evil that I'm going to be a Chemist?

It doesn't matter whether the kid is in public, private, or home school. It is the responsibility of the parent to teach their children values, morals, ethics, etc.

Absolutely not. The study of God's creation can be a holy calling. I pray God will prosper you in your pursuit.

Public School = Dose of real world

Private School = Better Education

Home School = Not much of real world at all, sometimes better education, sometimes not.

Parents shouldn't rely on any type of school to teach their children what they themselves should already put right. If your Christian child buys into evolution in school just because some teacher talks about it then you're sorely lacking in parental guidence. You shouldn't base your whole argument of public or private by what they may "brainwash" your child into believing.

Before your kid gets to school sit them down and tell them what to expect in class if it's against Christ. That way, they wont be confused by what is being taught and where they should stand. In some ways it's educational for them to look at what non-believers believe so they can talk about it with their parents.

I've been homeschooled, public, and private schooled. Honestly theres not really a difference (except for the social department). How about we promote making schools educational systems and not babysitters? Be a parent and teach your child whats right in the eyes of God.

Public or private , the truth in Jesus should be taught and witnessed to by the parents.
My children went to public and held true to what we taught them. The obvious differnces are easy to teach to our children.
If My children were starting school now ? There is no way I would allow them in public schools, not because of the differences that are seen, but because of the subtle teachings that fill their books and attitudes of some teachers.
My youngest, now an adult. Was one that had these subtle teachings in her curriculum. As I looked over her study papers, books, and lessons I saw this subtle teaching being implemented. She is the only one that we had to work with in overcoming the attitudes and views of these subtle teachings.
I am greatful that Jesus has opened her eyes in this, but for those that have children in the public schools? I would recomend that you take a closer look at what is taught now. Its not about lies anymore, it is about the subtle management of your childs very soul.
I am not much of a nay sayer, or big on judging, but I find what I have seen in recient years to be truelly a threat.
God bless, pickles

A parent is ultimatly responsible for the education of their children. The schools and teachers are just there to aid in that. How that ever became lost that we can stop parenting between the hours of 8am and 3 pm is foreign to me. lol

My children attend a christian school...that is my personal preferance and I do not need to justify it to anyone. I am thrilled how I can partner with them to educate my children. :)

best to you all as you make choices in education that effect your kids. :)

Our public school system had or has religious education classes and volunteer chaplains anyway so people who go there do get a bit of a christian education. In year 12 of high school weekly for a few weeks we went to a church, atheists and non-atheists included.
Of course any who were strongly opposed to religion didn't have to come, but the parents would have to request.
When we had sex education classes yes we had a sex therapist give us the talk, expecting everyone to be doing it. But we also had concerned christian parents give a talk and show a video on the pros of abstinence. There's nothing stopping parents getting involved in the public school and pushing the christian agenda.

Well that may be true but there many other pros and cons to each, kids still need to learn the apparent 'lies' of science because if as christians they do not know it or understand it how can they argue against it??........just a thought.

That aside if I have kids I wouldn't send them within a mile of public school, as much for the environment than the level of education, currently there is no discipline in public schools and that environment every day would conflict and probably undermine the lessons I would be trying to teach.
I'd consider private school if it was financially viable but I'd take a good hard look at the prevailing attitiudes on things like religion and discipline etc..

I wouldn't be against home schooling but I would not want to seperate my kids from others their own age and have them be ignorant to the realities of the real world as that can be damaging, there is no perfect choice but I'd make a serious effort to ensure they got a better go at it than I did, because my time at public school was a lot less than it should been in many ways.
