whats up, i'm part of a WOF church, actully Rhema one of the biggest! and i go to there bible college and plan to minister ast a WOF pastor one day. i thought it would be nice to answer and questions you might have, confirm WOF teaching to you, and clear up any misconceptions might be out there,
 
word of faith, or WOF as it is commonly called, is sadly emphasizing one aspect of scripture and in doing so, have hurt many people, misled people and denied the faith of those who are hurting by telling them their faith is not strong enough

you can minister whatever you want, however a balanced interpretation of scripture is what we are told to minister from

it's interesting you come here and make this thread, after telling me I should not have refuted the words of someone in another thread who spoke angry and sinful words...

maybe you don't really believe words count as much as you say?

Hi welcome sister! i agree with you whole heatedly and it is sad that some have taken the ideas of WOF way out of context. but its not a focus on one aspect, i assure you, what in general have you seen wrong though?

please go back and see my response to you, i did not disagree with your correction, just you method.

so how were you hurt... was it a person, or a whole church. i've been there. they are just people...
 
Using words to manipulate the "faith-force" is what I consider WOF. It is IMO of the occult and based off of what the occult calls "The Secret". God spoke our reality into existence. To say we can speak the reality we want into our existence is to say we are mini-gods...TBN in their hayday had "rock stars" of the "faith-force" come out and literally say we are mini-gods. You can find those references easily online. Now my blood pressure is rising and I want to stay in a state of thanks, so I'm moving on.

What is the name of the bible college you attend?
 
I fully understand WOF people. And it IS a solid Biblical principal. But, just as most of us do when it comes to our own pet doctrines, often times the concept seems to get exaggerated and somewhat confused in day-to-day application.... maybe even distorted when applied where it might not fit so well.

I am actually angry at the false garbage spewed by those who are the ones who hurt others

and WOF is one such doctrine...it is NOT the gospel

I will leave now, cause I find your approach annoying even though I think you are sincere...

amen and i respect that brother, i know of the words you say, but i have also seen the lecturers and responses where the person recanted those words and said how off based they were. but calling on what the word does promise is not occult. an example i have is i was believing God for $250 for rent, a day latter i pick up work where i got a $200 gas check, and then my job started bonuses and mine was $100. i believe that was my Father providing my needs.

there are different flavors of it for sure

and in principal I agree about words

however, I have literally seen a pastor's wife die because she refused treatment for cancer because she had it in her head that God would be angry at her for not using her faith

her husband was not extreme like that, but he had to watch her die and it makes me ...

and I know of other cases...where folks did insane things because 'God' told them to....they just stepped out saying the words but the words never happened

thankfully, I did not become involved in that

and I like I said, there is truth...but like all things...be on guard and take the counsel of the entire Bible and not just parts

no reflection on you...sorry

not discernment, but physiologically speaking when you get offended and very hostile its a good guess to say you were hurt by it. i still think it. and if you feel like talking about it like a rational adult im here sister have a blessed thanks giving!

Nope, I didn't say calling on what the word does promise occult. Didn't say that at all. I'm talking about what is known as "WOF", that is a label of 3 words put together to define a specific skewing of biblical doctrine into an occult principal known as "The Secret".

that is terrible, and that is everything wrong with WOF.

god uses to streams of healing His supernatural, and His wisdom that He has blessed doctors with in modern medicine.

the words only have power if backed by the word, and even still they do not negate common sense. like my pastor said "you can't pray for protection then walk in front of a bus and think you are protected."
 
True faith is taking God at his word. The scriptures tell us that the Lord will supply all of our needs. Faith in that is what we need to develop.
Our needs and not our wants, but if are wants are in line with his will now there's a double blessing.
Imo only through trail and perseverance does our faith grow and that measure is given by God.
I serve a God of the impossible and I know this. I've seen his handy work performed immediately, and over time.
We are just vessels nothing more he is the giver of all good things and life it's self.
One of the worst things a Christian can do is get confused on who's the servant and who's the master.
