Hi Notmyown,

I agree with the scripture in Romans. It is those of the faith who are children of God. I'm not sure what your
question is with what I wrote, but I'll try to explain my answer and see if that helps.

One point I'm trying to stress is that the nation of Israel has a unique relationship with God than any other nation of the world. And it goes all the way back to Genesis with Abraham. God has a future plan for Israel.

And the reason I stressed the descendants of Abraham is because the Everlasting Covenant made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob continued on through their descendants all the way through to the Messiah who is/was Jewish. He's Israel's promised Messiah. He came to the Jew first and then to the gentile. Israel the nation still belongs to Him;He set His love upon them, made them into a great nation, made both covenants with them and is continuing to work in the hearts of the Jewish nation to bring them to Him.

They've suffered so much and rightly so because of their sin and their turning their backs on Him. But in every generation there is a remnant of Jews that love and serve Him with all their heart.

You'll find more about their future in Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Zechariah and Daniel and there may be others. Those are the ones that come to me from memory at the moment. When all Israel is saved, it's prophesied that 2/3 of her will die and 1/3 of the Jewish nation will be His. They will repent, see Whom they have pierced and weep over their sins as a nation. And so all (the 1/3 that's alive) Israel will be saved.

Here's a future prophecy for Israel. Ezekiel 36:

22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23 And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29 And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. And I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. 30 I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominations. 32 It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.
33 “Thus says the Lord God: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. 34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. 35 And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ 36 Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.
37 “Thus says the Lord God: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their people like a flock. 38 Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

I'd add to your reputation for this work of art, but am unable. Little help anyone?

I have a question. If the Israel of God is not the body of believers, both Jew and Gentile, today and in years past, who was or has been the Israel of God since our Lord's ascension in 33 A.D. until now ? If your answer is the Jews that have been scattered throughout the nations for over two-thousand years, how is an unbeliever of the gospel called God's Israel, nation or otherwise ? They have rejected the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Is anything of our Father's plan of salvation thru faith in Christ nullified or exempt due to race or nationality ? Only those who have the Son have the Father. At a minimum, the vast majority of "God's Israel" for these last two-thousand years plus have fallen short of God's mark and calling ... and His eternal rest. Does this make sense to you ? To anybody ?
Hi Plainguy, One of the problems I see here is that many are trying to mix the spiritual Israel with the nation of Israel. Yes, there is a spiritual Israel that includes Jews and gentiles.

We are trying to explain that God still has a plan for Israel as a nation, while those who believe in Replacement Theology are trying to say that God has washed His hands of the Jews and has no thought for the nation or the people. That is so far from the truth.

So the basic understanding of God's truth as to how mankind is saved, I think we're all in agreement.

I haven't seen anyone say anything of the sort.
not even close.
we've all been saying the jews get saved through the gospel.
any other view is total false teaching.
read Galatians 4 again.
paul himself said to cast out the unbelievers, they would not inherit with the children of the promise (in Christ).
I dunno how many ways this can be explained

This is total strawman DR.

Your logic seems to be:

I'm a dispie

Therefore all others are replacement theologists

Replacement theology believes the Jews are cursed and cast out from God's sight

Therefore anyone who disagrees with me preaches eternal damnation to the Jews

----

I've never met an RT.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am simply discussing scripture.

The only 'ists' I am really familiar with are the Futurists who do not take the Bible literally, but try to postpone everything into the future, and 'spiritualize' everything

Yours or mine? :)
Jesus had a Jewish mother.
LUKE 2:4.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David,
which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:):)

HEB. 7:14.
For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

The two beliefs can't meet, it's impossible because nobody has replaced anybody, but your side can't seem to see that. It doesn't have to end in a free for all, just look at what the bible says and believe what it says kaylagrl.

I've posted the verses below several times in this thread and your side refuses to discuss it. Are you willing to address this?

Romans 9:6-7 KJV
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
[7] Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

I dont know what other word to use. God cast aside the Jews in place of the church. I do believe what the Bible says thats why I disagree with your theology. Romans, taken in context up to chapter 11, makes sense with what we are saying. You don't make a theology on one scripture verse.

Matthew 22: 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them this question: 42 “What do you think of the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David by the Spirit calls him Lord, saying,
44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet”’?

45 If David thus calls him Lord, how can he be his son?” 46 No one was able to give him an answer, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.

He came to Israel, period.

Not the Jew first and then the gentile
Soooo why does Scripture say "to the Jew first and then the Gentile?"

Because that is Paul talking about the Jews who needed (rather urgently) to convert and save themselves from the judgement of Judah
