Those who are truly born of God have received a new nature, a divine nature, and they have new and different appetites and desires. They have been transformed from pigs and dogs into sheep. The change is more than just cosmetic, as in 2 Peter 2:20. *These cleaned up on the outside dogs and pigs were never sheep.

Compare 2 Peter 1:4 - "partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption - Strongs #5356 that is in the world through lust with 2 Peter 2:20 - with they escaped the pollutions - Strongs #3356 (different Greek word) of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, yet they are again entangled therein, and overcome. Notice that 2 Peter 2:20 did not mention them being "partakers of the divine nature.

Corruption (Strongs #5356) (to shrivel or wither, spoil , ruin , deprave, corrupt , defile, to destroy by means of corrupting, to spoil as does milk). Corruption - describes decomposition or rotting of an organism and the accompanying stench. The utter depravity of the fallen flesh and the resultant moral decomposition of the world opposed to God is driven by it sinful lusts or evil desires. Internal corruption.

Pollutions/Defilements (Strongs #3393) ("pollutions", "filthy things", "contaminations", "world's filth") describes the state of being tainted or stained by evil and refers to impurity, impure, tainted, defilement, foulness or pollution. Pollutions/Defilement refers to what is on the outside (2 Peter 2:20). But genuine believers have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust (2 Peter 1:4).

Corruption is deeper than pollutions/defilements on the outside: it is decay on the inside.

Having the knowledge of Jesus Christ does not save a person if there is no heart submission to that knowledge. The latter end is worse than the beginning for these men because rejecting this knowledge will make them more accountable at the judgment.

yep. SUBMISSION to Jesus is Life and the only change of Heart God offers

if your referring to the op I don't understand...all that is posted is text in scripture and a statement not even mentioning sinless perfection, what is the deal anyway? please explain maybe I missed something...

the same issue thats been for 10 months. the doctrine of grace alone, v the Doctrine of Jesus Christ. its much more popular to give a verse or 2 like

ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. "

and this means nothing else matters that is written. the main issue with any post concentrating on scripture in context, is that God is so clear about everything Like repenting of sin, and obedience to Jesus Christ. and frankly people want to be saved without Honoring Jesus word. So.." Im preaching sinless perfection" because scripture clearly teaches repentance :) and of course a bible discussion forum is no place for scripture :) God bless

those who think they're righteous the verse applys.
These verses apply themselves to anyone who is born again through Jesus bro. and who is born again? those who believe that Jesus is the Christ. who is the Christ? the One promised in scripture from moses on through the prophets,,,,this is the Christ

deuteronomy 18 :17-20 "The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. 18I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. 19I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.20But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

Jesus is this prophet who would speak Gods own Words to the People, and then tell His disciples to Go speak thos same things to the world.

john 7:16-17 "Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. 17Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. "

Jesus said this same thing over and over " the one God sent" " who spoke only what God told Him to say"

john 12:49 "I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it."

john 14:24 "Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me."

The Christ was promised to Come and speak Gods very words to His people those who accept His words as those of the Christ have Life, those who refuse His words have noithing.

matthew 7:21-27 "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

I can give yoyu another 10 examples easily. and at least 10 from the a[postles...... and do His words apply to the whole world?

matthew 28:18-20 "
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus spoke the eternal covenant, His words. His death is our death to release us from the first covneant. and His resurrection is our new Life ( romans 6-8)

A bunch of Scriptures............a bunch of things said........but your statement makes no sense whatsoever..........well, to me anyhoo........

If I post 15 Scriptures from 3 or 4 different Epistles, and then say "if folks don't believe this, then they is spreading destructive Lies," would you think you might be one of 'em? :)

Just wondering

Ever heard of context? Or do you just prefer to make verses say what you want?

Who is the they in the passage? Is it those who claim to be without sin? Is it they who have made themselves clean only to return to the old filthiness?

Those whom Christ has cleansed need not to be washed again. Only their feet need washed.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
yeah lol sorry heres the conbtext you want "

romans 8:1 " there is no condemnation for thos in christ" the end......

I am ion no way expecting after 10 months to make a bunch of friends here lol honestly anyone here who gives real context faces a mob of angry grace alone folks......but im here for 1 approval which i have. you guys really cant offend me i kind of look forward to new angels of ommission, and after a few times of agruing, just ignore to keep peace. Im positive there are folks who actually do understand scripture and prefer that to the " grace Lens" peace and good will to ya. REPENTANCE is the first step in salvation

2 Peter 2-20 22
20If indeed they have escaped the corruption of the world through their knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, only to be entangled and overcome by it again, their final condition is worse than it was at first. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than to have known it and turned away from the holy commandment passed on to them. 22Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.”
2 peter 3:10-17 "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[SUP]a[/SUP]11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[SUP]b[/SUP] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.14So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.17Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position"

I would just mention (1 John 5:6) in the last four words:

"the Spirit is Truth"

The above rightly divides the Word of Truth with (John 17:17):

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
and i would point to John 6:63 "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life."

and would ask.....what is the proper method for " dividing the word of truth?" I believe Believe what Jesus Said, Because it is what God the Father said.....thats my division of truth. thats why i understand im not to follow the mosaic Law, I rather died to that Law through Jesus Christ.

romans 7:4 "So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God."

thats the only division that correct the division made By Jesus in His ministry

lol this does not end does it??

One of the biggest lies is thinking that you are perfect by way of infusion rather than imputation. Sinless perfectionism is a disaster and a terrible doctrine to believe in. To think that you can achieve a level of total perfection in this life is nonsense and unfounded.
who said sinless perfection? total anything? and really......incase you dont understand this is the only satatement " i made"only for those who believe scripture over peoples opinions and ideas that arent taught in scripture , study on your own PRAYERFULLY in the name of Jesus, and Let Gods Word renew your mind and guard against the many, many destructive Lies among us....."

can you perceive my actual statement? study prayerfully on your own Let Gods word renew your mind???? anytime the grace alone people hear the word repentance, you have the same tactic. accuse the person quoting the scriptures that say what they say, of claiming sinless perfection......this group is more Like an angry mob, and what sets you folks off the most....is real scripture in context rather than teaching and imaginary " grace lens" that were supposed to look through. Why are so many people afraid of what the Holy scriptures actually say?

you all act as if there are no false doctrines except the things Jesus taught ......the 4 gospels, are the whole entire truith from God to Man. Jesus makes it clear, its the believers Job to accept what He taught us to believe and believe it Because Our Lord and savior taught us. its not as confusing as folks want it to be. Learn Jesus word, believe they are the Words of God, obey Jesus word because Jesus says it again and again in His ministry. instead..we say " well its not meant for christians, just the jews" but again why? Jesus said its meant for the whole world

matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

How am i the one changing or making Gods word say what it says? its really clear How Jesus said things is my Point...after All He is the =very One who has all of the authority and the very One who suffered and died for us..He also taught us how to Live to Pleas God, and He said to obey His teachings...and He said after He was resurrected " Go into all the earth....and teach them to obey everything i have commanded YOU....... :) as much as folks want to accuse n argue, Jesus said what He said, the Bible teaches us what it teaches we have no [place denying the truth and clarity Given By Jesus Christ, those who do that.........well, there are clear warnings in scripture " if a person believes what is there" I clearly do believe it and always will. if its so offensive to you folks, move on to posts that say what you want to hear and agree with thats a smart way to do it, or even boycott me lol but surely its not a profit to come and explain why scripture Just dpoesnt say what it clearly does say.

I agree -- nothing about "sinless perfection" here - not even close! At least not in the actual post! Maybe it can be read in by the OP or by readers - but the Bible doesn't teach it - not that I see anyway!
Naw, sinless perfection is always what the same group claims is said in an op, its the perception Not whats there. Peo[ple have to understand "sin" is not universal anymore it is personal between the believer, and God. if a person Knows Much, they required to obey what they know, if a person Knows little they are required to obey Little. what is sin to one, is not necassarily sin to another. no one can Judge the other Guy, that how the Law of moses worked, Not in Christ. In Christ the Judge is the Word of God given through Jesus. for instance if a person is a smoker and im not......I cant go condemn that person, because to that person, maybe its not sin maybe they never Heard that our body is the temople of God, maybe smoking to them is something they arent convicted about.

The holy spirit convicts of sin within us, by way of our own conscience. If i know im doing something wrong, then im sinning. sin is personal in the new covenant, and yes, we are to keep our own conscience clear before God. if i know i have sinned, i confess it, repent of it make sure ive forgiven those who have sinned against me, and whalah......im now "sinless" the only "perfection" found in Christ.......is to forgive those who tresepass against us. Jesus and His words are what changes us, repentance is on us to obey. truthfully though, there is nothing in scripture to allow a believer to continue in sin we are 100 percent required to follow the spirit who convicts us of OUR OWN sin, and commands repentance from it. thats simply the truth. sinless perfection is to keep our own conscience clear before God. we do not do this by ignoring our sin, but recognizing and then repenting of it.

Wow---Another sinless perfection necessary for salvation thread. When will this foolishness end?
1 john 3:7-10 "Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."

Yeah...that John boy he really is a distorter and all...but silly me i dont look through any lense, rather i just accept the clarity and know it is the truth. "Anyone who does not DO what is right is not Gods Child" "The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. " wow who could possibly agree with that darn Bible? theres gotta be a way to make this non applicable...maybe this book is meant for aliens or angels? surely not men though, cause men never stop sinning, God would never actually Give us righteousness n all that, just the kind that doesnt apply to how we live i guess......scripture says what it says. to debate and choose our own view is a terrible mistake when dealing with Gods word.

john 12:48 "There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day."

not for believers probably i guess Just Jesus words...paul would never sya such a thing right?

2 corinthains 5:9-10 "So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

romans 2:4-11 "Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”[SUP]a[/SUP] 7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism."

but those guys...what do they know after all romans 8:1 says " there is no condemnation in Christ"........there is no provision to go on living sinful Lives and still inherit eternal Life in the scriptures, sure there are alot of folks who say there is but......

ephesians 5:3-7 "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[SUP]a[/SUP]6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them."

But yeah het, sin has nothing to do woith anything...we have grace now

romans 6:15-18 "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness."

But yeah Grace means what we do doesnt matter its all grace now God would never expect man to live upright and Godly Lives...

titus 2:11-15 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,13while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."

But hey man, im just " making scripture say what i want lol.....

I think my message regarding sin is this : REPENT so that times of refreshing and renewal may Come. Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near, " repent or we too will all persish"

romans 6:11-18 "In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace

15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness."

i see this as a good message regarding sin and righteousness. Grace does not allow us to continue on in sin, ( titus 2:11-15) it is for the purpose of leading us to repent of sin and Live for God with all of our heart and soul and mind and strength. the purpose of Jesus dying is to forgive us, and also take away our sin.

1 peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sin, in Hios body on the tree, so that we might DIE to sin, and live for righteousness; By His wounds you have been Healed." ( of course this leads a person back to isaiah 53 which says " But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

some wont accept it but the healing, is from sin, the disease inherited from adam that lead to the dominion of death by way of sin.

lol where did you see me say that or anything like it? its always confusing to me when anyone uses scripture to say something, there are so many arguers and people saying what the person is saying....just because apparantly you missed what " I said"...

"only for those who believe scripture over peoples opinions and ideas that arent taught in scripture , study on your own PRAYERFULLY in the name of Jesus, and Let Gods Word renew your mind and guard against the many, many destructive Lies among us....."

the rest of this op, is scripture. Heres some more

to this idea i hear often " no one really ever quits sinning"

2 peter 2But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.4For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,[SUP]a[/SUP] putting them in chains of darkness[SUP]b[/SUP] to be held for judgment; 5if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. 10This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh[SUP]c[/SUP] and despise authority.Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; 11yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from[SUP]d[/SUP] the Lord. 12But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.13They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.[SUP]e[/SUP] 14With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood! 15They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer,[SUP]f[/SUP] who loved the wages of wickedness. 16But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—an animal without speech—who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness."

Doctrines and teachers teaching " no one really stops sinning....is deception meant to give people freedom to continue in sin. There is no teaching in the Bible that says " if you go on sinning, you will be saved" i said that part <<<< but the rest is 2nd peter chapter 2 which i left a small sample in the op. but truly i understand this to be true

luke 6:22-26 "Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.

23“Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.24“But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
26Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets."

repentance is required 100 percent, and anyone who has faith In Jesus, is well able to be free of sins control.

I was not responding to you... at all I was responding to the ones who equated sinless with what was posted in the OP I don't see that in the OP just scripture quoted and sound council, I feel a couple of folks jumped to the wrong conclusion. where did I quote you or mention your name?

Romans 8:1-4
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

WALK after the spirit..... john 6:63 " ...the words i have spoken to you are spirit, and they are Life."
