Just wondering based on scriptures what the difference will be between the world now, the millennial kingdom with Christ ruling (Revelation 20) and the New Earth/Heaven (Revelation 21 & 22)?

I know a lot of people apply scriptures to the millennial kingdom, but I ask maybe they would better fit the New Earth/heaven?

How can you discern and rightly divide scripture?

So maybe we can discuss how you view each: 1. The world now 2. The Millennial kingdom 3. New Heaven/earth

I think that the "1000 years of satan bound" is now, so the 1. and the 2. is the same for me.

New Universe (heavens and earth) will be very different from this one. Different physical laws (no sun, no moon), thats probably why no death and no pain will be possible.

I am not certain if "new heaven" means new universe or new place where God dwells.

ever notice the New Testament repeatedly speaks of 'this age' and 'the age to come' ?

might be a place to start. :)

I can offer from a different perspective, my two cents.

A couple of verses about corruption,it is a work God performed when men violated the commandment that brought death

If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness. I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister. "And where is now my hope?" as for my hope, who shall see it? They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust. Job 17:13

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1Corinthians 15:50

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1Co 15:53

In Romans I believe it is informing us : “for who would hope for what they already have (a corrupted body)”.Why would we want another body that would die again.

Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

I would view it according to all three you offered. .

One
..The world now......the corrupted world today

Two...The Millennial kingdom....the kingdom of this corrupted world we are in the last days marked by the renting of the veil as to its beginning. The word thousand in that verse (Revelation 20 )represents an unknown number or whatever is in view.

It is how it is normally understood with many examples.

Without parables, Christ the Holy Spirit of God, spoke not. He neither numbered people when it comes to inheriting salvation or days before the end.

It has been over two thousand literal years. Christians have been their reigning with Christ as ambassadors of a foreign land ,not of here. They will reign with Christ here on earth until the last day the second and final resurrection that some call the rapture

Three.... New Heaven/earth. The last day when those Christians reigning earth and those asleep both will receive their new incorruptible body as a wake-up, draw up call. A body which no one knows as to the manner it will be. The Sun and moon no longer under her feet that were are needed to govern times.

The new heavens and earth as the center principle has come. The former's things in respect to the corrupted earth will not be remembered or ever come to mind.

Hello Ariel,

There are a few characteristics that we can garner from scripture to give us an idea of what the millennial period will be like:

"He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

So, there will be no war during the millennial kingdom and the nations will beat their weapons into tools for use in agriculture. It is also describing that the millennial period will be a time of peace, for nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

The scripture demonstrates that unlike the current state affairs, prey and predator animals and their young will live in peace with one another and with human beings during the Christ's millennial reign.

"Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed."

According to the scripture above, if anyone during the millennial period dies at a hundred they will be thought to be a mere child, which would demonstrate that the span of life for those in their mortal bodies during the millennium will be like it was before the flood, where people lived up to 900 plus years old. The one who dies at 100 years old will be thought to be a mere child. In scale, dying at 100 would be like being 10 years old.

"No longer will babies die when only a few days old. No longer will adults die before they have lived a full life. No longer will people be considered old at one hundred! Only the cursed will die that young!" Isaiah 65:20 NLT

If you want a biblical picture of Jesus' reign, look at Daniel 7:13-14, which describes the One who will have total dominion. And the prophet Zechariah says, "Ihe Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one" (Zechariah 14:9). Everyone will conform to Christ's will during this age.

Let me clarify something here. The millennial kingdom will not be a perfect age because there are still non-resurrected human beings living on earth -- people still possessing the sinful nature, in other words. You and I will be perfect because we will have been raptured and judged for rewards and given our new bodies. And only righteous people will be brought into the kingdom. But these people will have children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, because human life will continue. And these descendants will not all follow in the spiritual footsteps of their ancestors.

In other words, sinners will be born and grow up during the Millennium. This is why the Bible says Jesus will rule with an iron rod. This rod is a picture of judgment. What it means is that no rebellion will be tolerated during Christ's reign. The only possible rebellion will be internal, in a person's heart. There will be no allowance for external rebellion.

So there will be no crime or anything like that when Jesus Christ sits on His throne. To put it in today's terms, He will not take any stuff from anybody. Any attempted rebellion will be dealt with instantly. The earth will finally function the way it is supposed to function.

I want to look at an interesting concept with you. It has to do with the statement in Revelation 22:2 that the leaves of the tree of life are for "the healing of the nations."

Revelation 21:4 NKJV says this, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” If heaven is a perfect place and we have resurrected, glorified spiritual bodies, why do we need a tree that produces healing? Why the need for a tree that produces life when we already have eternal life?

A possible answer lies in Revelation 21:24-26, in the description of the new Jerusalem. "The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.... Its gates will never be closed; and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nation into it."

John is talking about a group of people who have access to the heavenly Jerusalem, but don't live there. He says kings and others come and go from the city bringing their glory into it.

In order to have kings, there have to be kingdoms for them to rule. John says there are people living outside the new Jerusalem who visit the city and bring their homage to God, the way pilgrims in our day might visit Mecca. Who are these people, and why do the need the healing leaves of the tree of life?

There is only one group of people left on earth to go into eternity in their physical bodies - those who were true to Jesus Christ and served Him during His millennial kingdom. They go into eternity after the Millennium with physical glorified bodies, not spiritual glorified bodies like we will have, because they did not experience death and resurrection.

To put in another way, these people will go into eternity with bodies like Adam and Eve had at their creation before they were flawed by sin. Their perfect physical bodies will be maintained through a special provision from God.

The bible indicates that the new, renovated earth will be occupied in eternity. This group from the Millennium will fill the earth because they will still be able to procreate. These people will make up the nations who aging the universe.

If people live for 900 plus years, then a small child could live through the whole millennium without dying?

Does that mean only the accursed would die during the millennium?

Never thought that it is possible that only one generation might experience the millennium.

Always gathered that Jesus was more concerned with inward purity and worship than outward obedience....what you describe sounds like a fake utopian state where Jesus is dictator and all rebellion is crushed.

Will have to pray about it. Thank you for your insights. Not sure if I agree with you. I find the image unsettling.

Millennial reign of Christ begins at the end of the tribulation. Christ descends from the clouds and enters Jerusalem through the eastern gate. Christ is seated on the throne of David and rules from Jerusalem. Temple is restored and the peoples of the world bring tribute to Jerusalem yearly. Those who, nations, refuse receive no rain. The saints of God who are us are dispersed across the world and represent Christ teaching the nations and peoples of God.

End of the millennial reign many of the people rebel against God through satans deception and are destroyed by Christ.

The earth and the heavens are consumed with a fervent heat and are made anew by God. We see a new earth with no seas or oceans on it. We see the new city Jerusalem descending from heaven and we see a new heaven free from all presence of sin. A perfect world in which all abide in perfect eternal peace.

For the cause of Christ

Trofimus,,,,,,if we are in the 1000 of Satan Bound, then his Chain is too long. the Bible states:

rev. 20 "1. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season"

We are not in the 1000 years of Christ reign yet?

Hello eternally-gratefull. Am not trying to dispute your post, it is actually a good one. I thought I might add to it to complete the picture.

1000 Year: During the Tribulations, great earthquakes cause all mountain to fall down. Jerusalem shall be the highest point on earth at the beginning of the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ. Satan is Bound so he does not tempt man as he does now. Thus man will have no excuse if he sins for any reason. For those that reach the age of 100 years old and have not accepted Jesus Christ, they will die and be resurrected for the White Throne Judgement. During this time, there will be animal sacrifices as it was in the days of the OT. At the end of the 1000 years Satan is again loosed and as one would expect he gathers his armies (Gog/Magog again). Only this time God the Father will send fire down to consume all in the army that is surrounding Jerusalem. God at this time throws Satan into the 'lake of fire' where the antichrist and false prophet have been waiting for him for 1000 years.

New world: After the White Throne Judgement. the earth is completely destroyed and rebuilt by God himself. There are no seas or oceans on this new world. He will send the New Jerusalem down from Heaven to the new earth. From this point on as eternally-gratefull has said, we will all be eternal.

My thanks to eternally-gratefull for allowing me to add the above part on his informative post.:)

1. The world now.

Life on this planet is coming to an end 3 1/2 days after Jerusalem falls to Iran and Magog. Rev 11.

----

Starting from the present,

1st sign, The Bishop of Rome (image of Caesar), speaks the words that deceive the Kings of the East (Iran), unto attacking Israel, Rev 16:13-14.

2nd sign, After Iran defeats Israel in the battle of Armageddon, supported by Magog (Russia, Syria, Egypt, etc.)

3rd sign, They will move in and take Jerusalem.

4th sign, They will leave Israel dead in the streets, Rev 11:9, (3 1/2 days)

5th sign, They will celebrate and send gifts to each other, Rev 11:10,

After 3 1/2 days....The resurrection and the end of the planet.

-----

3 1/2 days to accept Jesus after Jerusalem falls, then the door to the Ark will be shut.

-----

These signs are given to be understood, before these things take place,

So that there will be no doubt, that Jesus is coming, for those who are looking for Him.

These prophecies, that are meant to lead us to Jesus, will not be of any use for salvation after the planet is gone.

=========================================================================

2. The 1000 yr reign, The time of the Pentecost Kingdom.

After the 1st resurrection, when Jesus rose and sat down on the throne of God, given all power on heaven and earth,

The Pentecost Kingdom began.

It is ruled by the words of John the Baptist, Behold the Lamb of God, (beheaded by Rome/Beast)

And the words of the Law and Prophets, the prophecies of Jesus and the Pentecost Kingdom.

He still sits on the throne with all power right now, right?

Why does He let terrible things happen?

Why hasn't He stopped the world already?

He reigns the kingdom from heaven, it doesn't say that He is present on earth during this period.

----

Rev 20, Satan is bound in this passage in 2 ways,

1. He cannot return to heaven.

2. He cannot deceive Magog to surround Jerusalem until the end of the Pentecost Kingdom age.

Satan cannot destroy Israel until they are restored to Jerusalem.

This is the same as the woman of Rev 12, who flees unto the wilderness, but she is out of reach of the Roman flood.

The Pentecost Kingdom ends at the second/last resurrection, 1 Cor 15:23-24.

This may be only months, or only a few years away.

=====================================================================

3. New Heavens and Earth

The old heavens and earth are burned with fire and then fly away, Rev 20:9 & 11.

---

The descriptions of the things that are spoken of,

are only given to us in a way, that we can relate to, in our present perceptions.

All parameters relating to this world are gone, as we move into the spiritual realm (death).

-------

If you could only see heaven for a moment, then you would understand the eternal reality of our lives here.

The value of the soul, my soul, your soul, the souls of men, women, and children,

How deep is the love of Jesus, that He should die to redeem the souls of them that have sinned against Him.

How wonderful to have His forgiveness, and be with Him forever.

By faith we see Him sitting on the throne.

Oh, to sit at His feet and gaze at His face,

What joy and eternal happiness.

This is what heaven is like, eternal Joy.

(You may not get in unless you bring a friend, bear fruit)

Good evening Ariel82,

To clarify, during the millennial period people will still age, but instead of living to 100 years old their length of days will be like those pre-flood. Therefore, people will not remain as children throughout the entire millennial, but in scale someone that is 100 years old during that time, would be like a mere child, 200 years old would be like your teens, etc. In other words, a 100 year old person during the millennial period, is not going to look aged, frail and wrinkled like a 100 year old does today.

I hope this clears things up.
