Judgement often comes in stages.

First God allows us to suffer the natural consequences of cause and effect.

We see that all around us.

"For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

it indeed is coming, but not everyone is going to suffer.

Nationally God will judge, but lest we forget......the righteous, some old and poor were spared from the Babylonian destruction, boys that were righteous were carried away captive such as Daniel, Azariah, Mishael and Hananiah and Jeremiah writes Lamentations from Jerusalem and gives the woe unto Babylon in Jeremiah 51-52 which was sent unto Babylon by the hand of an associate of Jeremiah.....The righteous who abstain from the evils of a society are not judged by God with that society when it is judged.....Come out from among her and PARTAKE not of her SINS that you receive NONE of her plagues...........

many would say we are under judgement in fact some even pray for it upon this nation and I cannot say that we as a country have not deserved his judgement even I have deserved it and yes his judgment is indeed coming at a rapid pace however I do not wish this upon anyone.

Their is difference I think between his judgement and wrath, in his judgement while he may be angry his anger is not long lasting and does this so that his rebellious children might learn and turn away from their sinful ways after all pain often times is a great teacher.

His wrath however is different it is not to teach or to hope we might listen and change it is a fiery anger upon the ones of darkness often times only ensued as a very last resort. So if judgement is upon us then I am thankful I would rather his judgement come than his wrath and after all a wise man joyfully receives correction a fool despises it

The Lord is aware of everything we do. He is our Father. He always has our best interests in mind. In other words, if he needs to, he'll discipline us, here and now. Are there any of us that don't need to be disciplined sometimes?

The USA especially ... YES.
But, God has given America a reprieve
to see IF it will REPENT (change its' evil ways)!

He accomplished this reprieve by putting Trump into office.
America's enemies are doing everything they can to prevent this,
but IMO God will prevail (unless something really amazing happens!).

IMO America will fail to satisfy God, and it will be destroyed in a few years!

Hi 88,

I've often heard from friends that America is being judged and they're in fear. I'm sure many Christian leaders are teaching that as well. When I was saved in '79 leaders were preaching that as well.

So how do we know? What does being judged look like? What kind of judgement are we talking about? Is it annihilation?

What I believe as I read scripture is that God allows the nations to do whatever they're going to do. Look around and you see dictators ruling nations with a rod iron. They're mean and cruel. And yet, God allows them to continue as a brutal dictator for the most part.

Statically America has the largest population of Christians than any other nation. I think Brazil and Mexico are the next in line.

What I do know is that God is Sovereign and I know we can trust Him completely. Our focus should be to live Godly in this world and preach the gospel; share the good news with others and be that living epistle among the lost.

What we need to be concerned with is where are our hearts are with the Lord. Are we living in obedience. God's judgement begins with us. 1 Peter 4:17-19 says:

For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what was ill become of the godless man and the sinner? Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

I believe that judgment fell on Christ for sins as far as spiritually goes. There is a natural consequences for sinning as in having a corrupt government - this will by itself bring about consequences. It is not God doing it. He will bring about His judgment on those that reject Christ when He judges them.

As far as Judgment beginning at the hose of God. When we read 1 Peter 4:17-19 in context we see that Peter is talking about suffering for being a Christian and being reviled. verse 12-16.

The scripture in 1 Peter 4 about judgment in the house of God must come first is a beautiful promise of the sealing of God's people off before judgment comes.

1 Peter 4:17-18 (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

[SUP]18 [/SUP] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Peter was the apostle to the Hebrews and Peter being a good Jewish man would have heard this spoken off in the OT...

It is a hebraism ( expression ) from Ezekiel 9:4-6 in which they had set aside the jewish elders and marked them before judgment came..these ones were saved from the judgment....

In other words we get protected/marked by the Spirit of God before judgment comes ..but judgment starts at the house of God first by us being "marked"...that's the sign that judgment is coming to the ungodly as 1 Peter 4:17-18 says.

It's awesome!! it's a beautiful picture of us being sealed by the Holy Spirit..

We have a good, good Father! and a mighty salvation in Jesus our Lord!

At one time grace, I would of agreed with you but I saw in the scriptures that the separating of sheep and goats are of the nations.

Nations have a national god. Americas is YHWH...same as Israels.

Obama was opening the way for Islam to come in and take over. The call of repentance began...if my people will humble themselves...that call. Christians were asleep but woke up and saw what satan was doing, understanding the spirit of antichrist was trying to take over our nation. And the Lord sent us His trumpet to lead.

~Jer 2:11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Jer 2:12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

[for me anyway] Yes we are under the wrath of God, the wrath of abandonment, for our society has embraced the sins of (Romans 1:18-32) and are now in the last stage of downfall, which is a reprobate mind, seeing that we have already have swallowed up the first two stages of downfall; uncleanness and vile affections.
