When you hear the thunder, the lightning has already struck.

In Revelation when the 7 thunders utter their voices and John begins to write he is told not to write, but to keep it hidden...

Couple of things and an observation...

1. Anyone have any ideas on these thunders?
2. Generally speaking there are illusions in the O.T. to N.T. theologies and or prophecy....anyone see anything?

Something to ponder....John is the only man to know exactly what the thunders uttered.....I would love to know hahah!

Look in the parallel passage of Dan. 12:5-7.

There the man in linen says,

It shall be for a times, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Since the passage in Dan. 12 shows the scattering of Israel from Jerusalem in 70 ad,

It might be assumed that the 7 thunders say something like,

Time, times, and an half times, until the power of the holy people will come together again.

This would show the completion of the 7 times after Israel is restored to control of Jerusalem, 1967.

----

So the 1st 3 1/2 t's is from the angel in Babylon until the scattering in 70 ad.

The 2nd 3 1/2 t's is from 70 ad until 1967,

Completing the times of the gentiles, when Israel is restored to Jerusalem.

------

The reason that this could not be understood before was because Israel had not been restored to Jerusalem,

When that happened, it changed the entire prophetic timeline,

Along with other factors.

----

That's my best guess.

I think the seven thunders are thunderous voices. I have only heard God speak to me once audibly but when he did his voice was very thunderous and commanding

Happy New Year, John!

Since the passage in Dan. 12 shows the scattering of Israel from Jerusalem in 70 ad,

Time, times, and an half times, until the power of the holy people will come together again.

Since the voice from heaven told John to seal up what the 7 thunders uttered, it wouldn't make any sense if it was written somewhere else in scripture. The sealing of this information would demonstrate that it was/is something particular that God did not want us to know at this time. Therefore, anything that we venture to claim regarding what they said can only be speculation best.

It would not matter for the angel told John not to write the words down,so God does not want us to know, and if it is Paul that was caught up to paradise, and heard words that is not lawful for a person to speak, then the angel that told John not to write it down would also be unlawful for a person to speak.

2Co 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
2Co 12:5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

But Paul sure has a funny way of referencing himself by saying he knew a person above 14 years ago,and he was caught up to paradise, and he will glory in that person, but not glory in himself.

Paul is obviously talking about someone else, and not himself.
Try again...Paul was referencing himself and the context supports this....

Nope, not unless you think Paul had schizophrenia. :)
I am not even going to argue this with you....Paul was taught by direct revelation from JESUS and this is exactly what he was talking about.....and other than maybe one thing you would argue with me if I said my name is DAVID....and it is!

If you read the entire context, it becomes obvious that Paul is speaking of himself as the one who was caught up to the third heaven. Below is the NLT version:

"This boasting will do no good, but I must go on. I will reluctantly tell about visions and revelations from the Lord. I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know—only God knows. Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell.
Wow, talking about adding to and taking away from the words of God. I'd stay away from those doctrines of men and twisted Bible interpretations. :)
