"If you jump from your highest ego to the level of your intelligence quotient, you will die."
Declare your Dependence on God.
Mentioned... Matthew 9:14-15, Matthew 17:14-18, Acts 13:2-3, 2 Corinthians 11:27
The Jesus' Matthew 9:15 seems related to Acts 13:3 narration.

Matthew 17:14-18
Lord, have mercy-- on my son.
[My son]
has seizures,
[My son] is suffering greatly.
[My son] often falls into the fire.
[My son] also falls into the water.
Therefore,I, [his father,] brought [my son] to the disciples of Jesus...
But [even Jesus'] disciples could not heal [my son.]
... (Note: Read the rest later, to see Jesus' reply)

The motive is to share something I observed and recorded. This thread will act as an archive of quick notes of mine, those related to the Bible. It is not meant to debate or persuade. It may be discussed by others, but I have no desire for theological debacle. There was nothing I was getting at, in the negative sense. However, since someone asked, I never noticed the story about the son falling into a fire (Matthew 17).

The "read the rest" comment was only to encourage myself (and anybody else) to look at the story in context via a Bible.
Not everyone is familiar with the Bible; just because I know Jesus died for good Purpose does not mean I stop reading the gospels. And that was the point of this thread, to encourage more Bible reading, note taking, study.

Again, this thread will not be a bastion-- on my part-- for debates.
If I, Ideator, debate, then I am the arrogant man jumping from his "highest ego."
It is not my place, nor is it my desire.

My desire is to lean into God's Grace, growing in His Love.

As God leads me, I will debate-- but not online, not people I do not know.

Take care, everyone.

Philip Neri-- It is an old custom of the servants of God to have some little prayer ready
and to be frequently darting them up to Heaven during the day,
lifting their minds to God out of the mire of this world.
He who adopts this plan will get great fruits with little pains.

Hebrews 5:7
While Jesus lived on earth, he prayed to God and asked for help.
He prayed with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death.
And his prayer was heard because he trusted God.

A way to remember the above reference... I know, it is cheesy.
He
brews 5:7
Weekdays Only (5) or Weekends, too (7).
Pray to God Daily, He'll hear you.

[SUP]Titus 2:11
11 [/SUP]For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

Here is a way to remember this verse location...
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
"to all"~ 2:a11~ Two a11
(T = Titus) (Two= chapter) (a11=verse)

Today, remember the grace of even knowing about his salvation.
(Two a11 who hear, you don't have to be Satan's tool. See the following verse.)

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God. (NIV)

Jesus walked the talk of Micah 6:8
He died for our transgression/sin. (Justice)
"While we were still sinners, he died for us" (See Romans 5). (Mercy)
He did not consider himself equal to God, humbling himself to death on a cross. (Humbleness/Humility?)

A way to remember verse location...
Martin Luther King Jr., having exhibited Justice, Mercy, and being Humble enough to not physically throw punches,
was assassinated in 1968 (68).

While only Christ paid for our sin,
Martin Luther King Jr, a pastor, practiced the requirements of Micah 6:8.

Tim Duncan at Faith Driven Consumer

The above link mentions Tim Duncan. It is posted as a reminder of his apparent faith.
And it serves as the right verse association for today's memory verse-- to me, not for others.
Tim Duncan, #21, signed a FaithDrivenConsumer petition, or something stating his faith in God.

Today's memory verse? Matthew 21:21
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. (NIV)

Note: This is not a name-it-and-claim-it advertisement. I was looking at different verses and the 21:21 stood out :)

Duncan (#21 retired Spurs jersey) reminds me of DoneCan! (As in, "it (can/)will be Done.")

There are more connections I "can" make with Tim Duncan and this verse. That is all that I'll write.

Oh, wait! How can I remember Matthew 21:21? Hmmm.. If one has faith, oneCan Throw a Mountain... dun! :)

(Throw~Threw~Matth*ew)

I know this is weird, but it will help... If one knows Tim Duncan's number :)

Note the above entry's link may not actually refer to the same Tim Duncan. I thought of this only after the time limit to edit expired. Oh, well, it still helps me remember the reference association.

ECClesiastes 12:13-14
Now all has been heard;
here is the Conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his Commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
[SUP]14[/SUP]For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil. (NIV)

Ecclesiastes is about a wise man who learned that everything is meaningless, including but not limited to: wealth.
However, the conclusion of the book does share what is of utmost importance and what does matter.

ECC is an abbreviation for said book and each letter serves as a reminder of the verses above.
I notice that chapter 12 and the two verses included here (13 and 14) are sequential. Well,
the 'E' in Ecclesiastes can stand for Eleven, thus, keeping the sequence going... for memory-sake.
ECC 12:13-14

The 'CC' stands for "the Conclusion of the matter" and "to fear God & keep His Commandments,"
to remind what the reference is about.

ECC 12:13-14

Ephesians 1:7-8(a)
In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

In Him, we have redemption= Paul and the faithful in Ephesus possess
Redemption= bought by Christ's blood, not given by by man's will or works
Forgiveness of sins= what was paid/purchased vs what was owed/expected
In accordance with the riches of God's grace= Christ's payment for our sins was an act of agreed-upon Grace.
"The riches"= That which God owns, can afford, and will sustain, yet He wills to give to others.
"that He lavished on us"= Redemption is not the only way God has graced Paul and the Ephesians.
Lavish= pay/give more than recipient's(s') worth

IQN...
According to Proverbs 24:27, in several Bible versions (when taken together), the intended audience is to Prepare, Plan, Order, Make Fit, Ready, and/or (even) Complete... field/outdoor work before building a house.

Note: "thine house" or "your house" is specifically stated.

Therefore, I wonder if the original intended audience was expected to somehow
~oversee the "building" for that person's to-be-built abode.

How can this verse apply spiritually?
Luke 14:26-33

God wants us to consider the cost of the cross, if we are to continue following Him.
Similarly, the writer of Proverbs 24:27 wants diligent behavior in the building process.

Important: This is not thought to be a scholarly exegetical discourse, but it is simply Ideator's current reflection on the above-stated verses. In no way, do I claim to have true understanding of context or intentions.

How can I remember this verse?

Focus on Zechariah 9:12.

(Note to self: Look at context later...
Zechariah 9 Commentary - Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible, https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Zechariah+9)

Notes...
Paul was a prisoner of Hope (even at old age, according to Philemon).
Being an example for believers, his fervent love was not extinguished by age or chains.
He rejoiced in God during his sufferings. This begs the question, "Am I prisoner of Hope, really?"

Here is how I will remember Zechariah 9:12

[SUP]John 11:39
[/SUP]“Take away the stone,” hesaid (NIV,).

Only time that specific phrase is used, however, there are several other instance of a stone or stones being moved or used, for God's glory.

Genesis 29:3 This is the one that I did not know about:
When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone away from the well’s mouth and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well. (Not to take out of context, but sounds like
a great message).

Other stone stories, not exhaustive: David and Goliath, Joshua Crossing Parted Jordan, and of course the resurrection accounts. Note to self: Study this.

Way that I will remember...
John is 4th gospel. Jesus calls Lazarus on/after 4th day.
"To call or summon" in Spanish is the verb "llamar," which is perfect for creating the 11amar visual.
11mar reminds which chapter. To take it even further, the "mar" in 11amar can remind that Martha is Lazarus' sister.
Or the "11mar" can remind of two people with the names Mar-y and Mar-tha.
:D

(Lazarus is seen in John 12, too.
Note, a different "Lazarus" is found in Luke 16. I think this is a different Lazarus.)
