Faith first- yes! When we forget the fact it says faith without works is dead, however, we call out God to be a liar if we use Scripture to try and reallocate God's Truth
Faith ALONE -yes.

And yes, a faith without works is dead. It will not glorify The Lord Jesus Christ. But the OBJECT(Christ) of our faith, the moment we believed keeps us saved, even if our faith died.

Romans 8:37-39 covers this.........NOTHING can separate us from the Love of Christ.

Wow, there is still so much confusion today on how we obtain salvation. Good works done by me is not how we are approved or accepted by God. As stated in Matt 5: 16 we let the light of our good works shine before men because in our good works it brings Glory to God. In Hebrews 12:14 tells us to purse Peace and holiness without which no one will see God is talking about when you walk in Peace and holiness people see God in you. Our good works reveal God in us, but working for God for acceptance is just that, legalism and works. The only thing that pleases's God is faith. Faith in the finished work of Christ. Your salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned, it must be accepted by faith not earned by works. Galatians is a hard line lesson that Paul in exasperation came down hard on Christians who were going back to the works of the Law to be justified before God. He even goes on to say if you are trying to please God through Works, you put yourself under a curse!

Works are a fruit of the root of Righteousness in your life and are important, but to base your salvation on how hard you work for God, or deeds done for God, or laws you keep is dead works. Faith without works simply means, if you say you have faith, it should produce good works in our/ your lives..

Carnal christians can do much harm to the body of Christ, but their salvation is not based on their works, it is based on accepting the free gift of salvation offered to all men freely by God through Christ.

Many will stand at the Judgement seat of Christ and be saved, but the wood, hay and stubble of useless works means their ash pile will be bigger that yours. Anything done for God other than through faith is dead works! God loves you, accepts you, but your works cannot save you, if so, then you would have grounds for boasting.

Side note, if you want to lead a wearisome Christian life, get on the treadmill of works and you will be one miserable person. When is enough enough? Believe me, I have been there!

separate us from the Love of Christ.

* It is important for us to recognize that God is concerned with faithfulness, not fruitfulness. Sometimes we are so preoccupied with counting our spiritual apples and oranges that we forget to spend time watering our roots, by just serving Jesus. Try forgetting about being fruitful for a while. It will happen naturally if you let His living water soak into the depths of your soul. God’s approval is better than man’s applause.

Romans 8:37-39 covers this.........NOTHING can separate us from the Love of Christ.

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Notice the Tyranny of the Urgent theme and not the sin theme here? Scripture also shows us that sin and God cannot co-exist. Thus, sin and our New Man cannot exist without us being loyal, even obligated in love to one; namely Jesus Christ. Sin, therefore , eventually separates us from the provisions God mentions above, if we don't correct sin with God's provisions of grace thru confession and turning away from it.. Again, our will has been given great power, by God, to choose which Spirit we serve. If we remain in Christ and His Words remain in us - there is nothing that can stop those provisions - period!

"Your persistent wrongdoing has come between you and your God; since you constantly reject and push God away, He had to turn aside and ignore your cries." (Isaiah 59:2).

God has made the plan to Himself perfect, and unmovable, but we must still apply ourselves to it. That is why our relationship with God is "Love." When God gives us a clear picture of what we ought to do thru faithful righteousness, we must do it immediately, or we risk sin stealing and devouring and killing us once again. Otherwise, if we remain in Him and His Words remain in us; even when we stumble, God's grace of forgiveness, is offered to avail from our confession, a renewal to the onward and upward absoluteness in our walk with Him, as we live separate from the world's system, and alive unto God thru Christ Jesus! Who can challenge God to steal anything He has given you, if we but die to the right to ourselves, and become completely dependent on Him? But that, costs us everything for His "best" versus our "good enough."

Let no man Boast of Good works to gain favor.... But not doing the Lords work is a sin...

And allowing this twisted doctrin of works based salvationists to continue of which there is no such thing,,,, is a sin... which denys Gods truth.

There is no denomiattion called works based salvationists.... but there are salvationists who believe in Good works...

so the reality that some brothers are at war with humanity,, whic is the world we live in.. (a falln one)

So we are all apart of the world hence we came from it.. and we didnt come from up there in body,,, but we did in spirit.. and now we run the race and pass the test..

as we all know that lord does send trials and tribulations to all..

The bible states that quite clearly... we will all be judged for our good works and bad works and the work we never done that we should off..

This is just like switching too.. we should never swith off for one minute but we do.. and we slip up... we are in a fallen world.. but we bounce back and get the Job done of running the race by obeying Gods commands..... we then get decipled to from the holy highness spirit.. of the most high..

AMAZING isnt it that the holy spirit can spread out so far.... but then no its not cause just look how far sonar waves can travel....

so in a nutshell lol works do save people from the snare of the devil...saved again... once saved and once saved again the end.........

AMEN to this and KUDOS for the stance on the truth....It still blows my mind that the workers for will deny, reject and flat chunk Galatians 1, 3 which emphatically calls all who say salvation is based upon faith and works foolish and bewitched....In the grace you are (positioned in Christ) having been saved out of faith and that not of yourselves (directed at the word faith) it is the gift of GOD, NOT OF WORKS lest any an should boast.......it does not get any plainer....it is called the simplicity that is found in Christ--->It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe....END OF STORY!

No, it's not the end of the story, it is only the beginning....for now in our Supernatural normalcy of life in Christ, we are empowered to do the will of God, to become that which He called us to be. It doesn't stop at the gift to us, which I agree is a gift unassociated with us, The Redemption of man thru Jesus on a Cross. But I acknowledge that the gift He gives me; the separation from the slavery to the world's system, allows me to love God, and mankind in His best, not just my best. Let me ask you, "What are God's goals in you in regards to living in Christ?" "Do you have confidence in the fact they will be accomplished?" "Are they being accomplished?" And I say this with no demands of works, or condemnation, only faith in the One Whom Wills, and empowers, His purposes and intentions to be accomplished.

In other words, yes, you're in: Now what?

No, actually it is the end of the story concerning salvation....which is the topic at hand........!
NOT the fruit or works that come BECAUSE Of the salvation ONE already possesses by faith..........

Salvation is the freedom for opportunity....yes, you have been made innocent once more thru Jesus, what is the opportunity for you? Holiness? or self-preservation? What is your real relationship to God? How would you describe it? How is Jesus transforming you?

* My biggest testimony is how God has allowed me to die to the right to myself, and become totally dependent on Him. And from this, being able to humbly accept His Wisdom as my own goals. His "Best" over my "Good Enough's."

NO one......none, zero, nadda, zip, zilch, no one, etc. have ever said that we are not saved to serve and or to produce fruit and or works that glorify the Heavenly Father dia Jesus in us doing the work by faith......that has never been the subject of this thread....EVERYONE that I personally interact with on here who believes salvation dia faith/grace as a one time eternal gift ALL believe in producing for God......and yet....we ALL get accused of saying we do not need to do anything after salvation....the works were prepared before the casting down of the world...and with Jesus dwelling in us by faith we do those things that God has prepared for us....

Having said that...the works do not save, keep saved and or embellish salvation......they are the RESULTS OF SALVATION!
