His lights are not the ones that have to come on regarding the believer being holy...

"but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11 NASB)

"
10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." (Hebrews 10:10 NASB)

"
14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." (Hebrews 10:14 NASB)

'Sanctified' means 'holy'. In order, the verb tenses of 'sanctified' in the verses above are 'aorist', 'perfect', and 'present'. Being made holy simply means being cleansed and set apart for a holy purpose. The problem is we Christians keep dirtying up on the outside what God has made clean and set apart for a holy and noble purpose. But to think that we aren't holy and that we will continue to not be holy until the day we die is what is satanic.

He sees very clearly what the Bible says about us being holy. Can we see it? Better yet, are we going to start acting like, by faith, what God really has already made us?
yet your verses are along the line of "Cleansing",oh and by the way since you want to bring definitions into this here read what "Holy" means according to the Dictionary, and tell me if you are holy or not afterward!...
Holy-1.Sacred 2.sinless 3.deserving reverence, since I am none of these things I am not holy,I am not glad of it but better to know the truth than to be in denial.

Hi joe...Are we not made holy and blameless before God...Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love...When God looks at us, He sees His Son Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit living in us, we are God`s Holy temple, are we not holy in Christ Jesus:confused:...xox...Please correct me if I am wrong, I am learning as we all are...:)...

Taking a step back from the forum
God bless you brother.
The wonder we always suffer from is to know how to bless when things are tough.
You have been a great encouragement to all, which takes a good heart and blessed
Spirit.

BillG, you are a kindhearted gentleman and I was hoping I could adopt just a little bit of that in my life.

To be honest I do not feel like there is much more I can bring to the forum.

Hi Bill...I just want to say that your gentleness that you walk in is a beautiful light that can only come from the Holy Spirit:)...This is what always caused me stop and read your post, your spirit is very bright, it draws one close...You certainly walk in the fruit of the Spirit, your kind, gentle, meek and mild...You have expressed yourself many times with open honesty, not hiding behind anything, just walking in the fruit as we are called to do...I am so blessed to have you as my brother in Christ, just wanted to let you know this seeing as you are stepping back, this is the right place to put it...You are a great example for how a man of God should walk, I pray one day my son will walk with such fruit...xox...

No, No, No, this is not allowed. First I clicked "like" and then I said what did you do, and then I click, "unlike."

Orange Tabbies and people who love Orange Tabbies are never permitted to leave unless Jesus say's that you may.

These are the rule's.....:)

The best way to grasp the word 'holy' is to understand it as 'being set apart'. You'll get your best understanding of it from how the articles of the Temple were cleansed and 'set apart' for use in the worship of God and were not to be used for everyday 'common' use.

We are the utensils and bowls, etc. that God has set apart for the special purpose of being used in the worship of Himself. That happened the moment you were born again: You were cleansed and set apart for use in the worship of God. The problem is we keep using these cleaned vessels for unclean 'common' purposes that make them dirty, yet we remain the vessels God set apart for worship to Him. We don't stop being set apart for a holy purpose just because we used them that way.

Think of the set of dishes your mom set apart for special use on holidays and special occasions. She kept them clean and set apart from the rest of the dishes, and they were not to be used for common use. But when you needed a plate real bad to hold your chili dogs you dirtied up one of the 'set apart' plates, and when mom found out, she read you the riot act, and then she washed it off and put it back in reserve for it's special 'set apart' use. It's set apart status never changed. What happened is you dirtied the special dish set apart for a special 'holy' purpose and used it for a common use that mom never intended you to use it for. But it didn't stop being 'set apart' (holy) just because you (or I) stupidly did that.

I just learned today of holy meaning set apart yet you are trying to make as if both definitions of holy apply to us,yes if you were to say we are holy in the sense that we are set apart that is true, we are not holy in the sense that we are sinless, you can't have it both ways, both do not join,as God's people we are set apart so yeah we are his holy people, but we are not holy in that we are sinless or innocent,to try to imply both are true concerning an individual is merely twisting scripture to one's liking, decide which definition is you,you can't choose both and do justice by God's word.

A Psalm of King David

"But He caught me, He reach all the way from sky to sea;
pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos,
the void in which I was drowning. He stood me up on a
wide-open field; I stood there saved, surprised to be
loved." Psalm18

...we are not holy in the sense that we are sinless...
Only legally are we sinless before the Father.

When we first believed, ALL of our sin guilt was washed away, so we did become sinless before God that way. And we continue to be sinless THAT WAY because as long as we continue to believe and trust in Christ's sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin we will continue to have no sin guilt on our record in heaven even though we sin. It gets forgiven by Christ because he always is alive and interceding on our behalf in heaven (Hebrews 7:25), and because I continue to believe in His continuing ministry performed on my behalf.

...you can't have it both ways, both do not join,as God's people we are set apart so yeah we are his holy people, but we are not holy in that we are sinless or innocent,to try to imply both are true concerning an individual is merely twisting scripture to one's liking, decide which definition is you,you can't choose both and do justice by God's word.
I have no record of sin against my account, because I continue to believe in Christ for the forgiveness of my sin (and because I'm not committing willful sin), so I am most certainly 'sinless' in that regard. But in regard to daily living? No, not sinless, lol. But that doesn't mean I or somebody else will never tread the 4th type of soil in the parable of the sower.

In fact, the 4th type of soil is precisely where Christ is taking me. That doesn't mean sinless perfection, lol, but it surely means not being in bondage to sin so that you can't tell the difference between me and an unsaved person. We should be careful to not condemn those believers who Christ would consider 4th type of soil people, just as we should not condemn immature 3rd type of soil believers. But, as we can plainly see in this thread, all the grace of long suffering and understanding is reserved by the church for the immature and none is granted to the 4th type of soil believer because they consider them liars and legalists and blind and fake and deceived and so on.....

It's obvious to me that most in the church simply do not believe a person can ever become what Christ said constitutes a 4th type of soil believer. As we see, if a believer dare say they are there, or are approaching that kind of soil in any way shape or form, they are inviting a severe beat down from the church. I don't beat them down because I believe every believer has the potential to eventually become a 4th type of soil believer. I rejoice with anyone who gets there. I don't consider them liars because I think no one can be trained by Christ to be a 4th type of soil. I DO believe we can get there. Why would I believe that a believer, even myself, can never have 4th type of soil????

Walk with Jesus and know His comfort.
I have been walking with HIM, since Dec. 30th, 1977. AND HE IS THE SOURCE OF ALL MY COMFORT, my STRENGTH, my ability to serve Him, my Peace with GOD, my LOVE, my HOPE, my FORGIVENESS, etc. Explain to me WHY the change in your attitude ? ? ? You appear to have put on a serious Christian Coat all of a sudden.

I see the I have to keep myself saved and forgiven group are still ignorant concerning the eternal redemption, forgiveness, justification, sanctification and salvation in Christ where the grace of God out bounds our sin..........still blind to the truth......what a tragic rejection of truth on their part!
