There is no contradiction and lest you, we or all of us forget...If we have believed into JESUS we have already done the WORKS of the HEAVENLY FATHER.......
And that statement from you is a work. It is true fruit. It glorified The Lord Jesus Christ, it is scriptural and it gives me(man) SOLID evidence that you have been justified and are IN Christ.

Amen brother, Paul exhorted us to contend for the faith! Know what grace is? It's unmerited favor granted to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. We didn't do anything to "earn" it....He freely gave his own life to save us to eternal life with Him! No work we can do WITHOUT him will get us into heaven. But so many believe that once you are a Christian, boom, that's it, your safe and you can live how you want, when you want, and believe when you want, and go to church when you want. Paul said God forbid. Look at Pauls life for instance, he was the chiefest of all sinners, he had done EVERYTHING under the sun, and yet Christ changed him and he became a true soldier and servant to Christ, that's how WE should be. You don't just accept part of what Christ gave you, you accept all of it, or none of it! Luke 9:23 "And He said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me."
The merchant had to sell all he had to obtain the single pearl of great value.

For sure....I call it burger king theology....many pick and choose a verse or three and hang some belief on it.....make no mistake though...context speaks volumes and many times the context is ignored and swept under the rug so as to embrace something that the bible does not teach.....many reject the absolute truth that...

a. Jesus was born, lived and dies under the law which ratified the NEW Covenant
b. The "many things" JESUS wanted to teach his "not yet ready to bear it" disciples has been given by the hand of Paul
c. The bible must be evaluated within the light of these truths....

Well......we could easily chase the proverbial rabbit around the mulberry bush all day long......

Faith is a gift from God and dealt to every man in measure...."except JESUS"

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Imagine that.....

Interesting concept......the context that sets the stage for this parable is the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew 13:36-43 and the gathering of the wheat and casting out of the tares.......then we find....

vs. 44 AGAIN....THE KINGDOM of HEAVEN IS LIKE UNTO
vs. 45 AGAIN....THE KINGDOM of HEAVEN IS LIKE UNTO
vs. 47 AGAIN....THE KINGDOM of HEAVEN IN LIKE UNTO

and then.......

VS. 49<-----SO SHALL IT BE AT THE END OF THE WORLD

The parable is not about MEN giving up all they have for Christ, but rather is about GOD'S KINGDOM--->the KINGDOM of HEAVEN and the gathering the wheat into his kingdom and the value of the wheat thereof....

Hebrews 12:2
[SUP]2 [/SUP]fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
YES, SALVATION WAS A DONE DEAL OR OUR HIGH PRIEST WOULD NOT HAVE SAT DOWN.

Romans 5:8-10 (HCSB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, ⌊then how⌋ much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!

I have already stated....start reading in Matthew 13:36 and read thru verse 50.....the context is clear.....the whole context is wound up in gathering the GOOD and tossing the bad..........

Do you understand what Fruit is? Good Fruit is lifestyle Characteristics of a born again human spirit. Here is the list of those Fruits in the BIBLE:

Galatians 5:22-23 (HCSB)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
[SUP]23 [/SUP] gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Here is a song that is a real blessing. "IN CHRIST ALONE".

I think this Gospel Quartet is really only one man, singing all four parts:

AMEN...if you break down the statements made....none of us has said any of that or implied any of what she has said........if anything the exact opposite....we have never said that we are not to bear fruit or do the work after salvation....and our only contention has been the process by which salvation is given and the eternal, unlosable aspect of it....by faith thru grace as a gift without any effort on our part......
Good morning Sir,, i just want to know where isi it really in the scripture that I can find "SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH " ALONE" VOID OF WORKS AND "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED." CAN YOU KINDLY SHARE THOSE EXACT VERSES SINCE YOU BELIEVE THAT ADDING OR SUBTRACTING TO WHAT WAS WRITTEN IS A FALSE GOSPEL. GOD BLESS!

James said faith without works is dead BEING ALONE....

PAUL said we are justified by faith without works <---BEFORE GOD
JAMES said the faith that justifies before God is seen BY MEN based upon our works

There is no contradiction and lest you, we or all of us forget...If we have believed into JESUS we have already done the WORKS of the HEAVENLY FATHER.......
Jesus said,“If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Do you believe Jesus in His teaching here or do you consider Him a works salvationist?

Matthew 19:16-26 The Rich Young Man Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” “Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Yes that is how I believe he looks at it. The great pearl is the saved man and the merchant is Jesus who paid everything to chose us. This is just one of a few interpretations of the parable and this interpretation is fine.

CAN YOU KINDLY SHARE THOSE EXACT VERSES SINCE YOU BELIEVE THAT ADDING OR SUBTRACTING TO WHAT WAS WRITTEN IS A FALSE GOSPEL. GOD BLESS!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NCV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. You have received the Holy Spirit from God. So you do not belong to yourselves,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] because you were bought by God for a price. So honor God with your bodies.

Ephesians 2:5-9 (NCV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Though we were spiritually dead because of the things we did against God, he gave us new life with Christ. You have been saved by God’s grace.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] And he raised us up with Christ and gave us a seat with him in the heavens. He did this for those in Christ Jesus
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that for all future time he could show the very great riches of his grace by being kind to us in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it.

Philippians 1:6 (NCV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure He will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.

John 6:38-40 (NCV)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] I came down from heaven to do what God wants me to do, not what I want to do.
[SUP]39 [/SUP] Here is what the One who sent me wants me to do: I must not lose even one whom God gave me, but I must raise them all on the last day.
[SUP]40 [/SUP] Those who see the Son and believe in him
have eternal life, and I will raise them on the last day. This is what my Father wants.“

John 10:28-30 (HCSB)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] I give them eternal life, and they will never perish—ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.
[SUP]29 [/SUP] My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] The Father and I are one.”

I agree it is fine he looks at it that way. I look at it differently, but I don't have a problem with differing understandings. :)

For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God and not of works lest any man should boast.

NOT BY WORKS of righteousness which WE HAVE DONE, but ACCORDING to HIS MERCY has HE SAVED US <--PAST TENSE

I will NEVER leave thee or forsake thee.

We are kept by the POWER of GOD and saved to the UTTERMOST by faith

We are in the Father's HAND, in the SON's hand and SEALED unto the day of redemption by the HOLY SPIRT of GOD

HE that began a good work of FAITH in you will finish it ad complete that which he has started

HE that BELIEVES on the SON is having EVERLASTING LIFE

WHATSOEVER that GOD DOES, it is EVERLASTING....NOTHING ADDED or TAKEN AWAY from it and GOD DOES THIS SO MEN MAY FEAR HIM

Yes VCO, I understand what fruit is.

Do you understand that unbelievers can and will fake the appearance of these fruits?

If you and I don't have a solid grasp of His grace and knowledge, we could be deceived by the outward appearance because we don't have doctrine in the soul(His mind.)

Take these boards for example. Many claim that they are right next to sinless perfection and some have even implied it. They show love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith(albeit legalism/works/self righteousness but still 'confess' His name), gentleness,self-control.

It is only what they think, and our understanding of His word that throws up the red flag. If we didn't know His grace and knowledge. They 'look' pretty convincing.
