I think reflects more on the weakness of your position and argument that they do not even have to do say much.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to UnderGrace again.

Amen I don't know about Calvin either...
I know that. Believe me, I know that.

I said Calvinism was on the way out and preacher4 got upset at the suggestion. He doesn't even seem to realize the church is moving away from it and to this new hypergrace once saved always saved doctrine....which of course we can not discuss in detail. It's a forbidden topic around here. All I'm doing is showing you people that what you believe is hypergrace. I have no intention of addressing it in a direct hypergrace discussion, just that it is NOT the once saved always saved people think it is.

You are always so kind. Thank you for being a constant light in what can be a wonky place sometimes :)

No, actually it shows they either are not true Calvinists themselves or they don't realize that the once saved always saved being argued here is not true to Calvinist tradition. I tend to think the latter is the case.

i do believe we arent saved by works but by faith in Jesus
:)

aside from how much you try to stick calvins name to my beliefs

im not ashamed of the true gospel
Just as long as you know that the true gospel does not include saying 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Ephesians 5:5, 1 John 3:6-10, and Galatians 5:21 aren't true. That's what's important.

Ralphie, I have friends in the Reformed churches, they know their doctrine, what you are saying makes no sense at all, really it does not.

I think you missed James...that is where you get most of your proof isn't it?

No comprendo,I believe the bible,doctrine...nope don't really have one,I simply learned, then studied for myself, was saved, felt a change when saved and now explain not only what it means to be saved, how to be saved, and that one stays saved after being saved through Jesus,it's just a fact,no need for some fancy high education mumbo jumbo or some such after all since when is "Believing"in and upon Jesus rocket science, you either accept Jesus as lord and saviour and one who died for your sins or you don't,the concept is simple but "being humble" and trusting that you will be saved is far tougher especially for those like me who were formerly overanalystic realists to do,because our thoughts and pride get in the way,God/Jesus doesn't need know it all workers he needs humble devout workers, doctrine is nice but "Believing" God's word is even more wise.

Ralph their is another more likely answer. That is you lack understanding concerning Reformed theology. I have read their posts and your replies. They stand strong in their defense of scripture. In fact it is not only the Reformed that have taken a stand it is all brothers and sisters in Christ that love sound doctrine.

Hahaha yes, I am bull-headed, you're right.

i like to think of it as, 'not impossible to change my mind but you will have to work very hard to convince me, don't give up.' ;)
Please don't misunderstand. I wasn't calling you bull-headed. I can actually have a conversation with you. You're different than most here. You're not so enraged and engaged in your own little doctrinal beliefs that you can't be talked to. You're doing good.

Was that meant as a compliment to Post ? Calling his doctrinal beliefs little ?

Why do people keep saying this and then say nothing to educate us about it?

I don't think I'm wrong that classical Calvinism is agreement with the scriptures I'm posting that say the person who is 'living in' sin as a matter of an unchanged life is not born again and will not be saved. Yet I'm being blasted by the very Calvinists who are supposed to be defending that doctrine. As for the others? I get that. I am aware of the new doctrine of sin and salvation that they are being taught and which they have embraced. It's the new once saved always saved doctrine in the church now.

We all have our little pet doctrines that we believe and defend. Some defend them maturely and calmly. Some not so much. Blind rage seems to be the name of the game around here.

Ummm....probably from the gospels actually. Being serious.
Jesus talked right to the matter. And of course Paul, James, and John did not contradict his teachings.

I am still waiting:)

context my dear dear fr....ralph
Show us. Show us how the context makes it so those passages don't really mean that people who live the lives described are not saved and will not inherit the kingdom.

And if I was Fran I would have put you over my knee and gave you a good whooping by now. And sent you to bed without supper.

Why are you waiting for me to defend a doctrine I don't have? I'm the one saying grace is NOT a license to sin. The passages I cited say you will roast if you live in sin. They do not say grace makes it so you can live that way and be safe.
