Who said anything about the works of the sin nature which was put to death by the Cross?
It is all pretty much some people can talk about. It seems to be their focus :(

I am living by and in ressurection power of His life.
Amen! What a good example you are to us, Stones :)

Amen. Each day is an adventure with the Lord, a new leaf on the walk with Him.

I am merely saying, because each day is new, there are no certain outcomes until we
apply faith and praise. To assume defeat is to deny the very hope and work He has done
within. This is the glory of resting in Him and doing that which we are called to do.
I know you say these things Peter, but then I've seen you take an arrow and shoot someone down. Why is this?

Not me Magenta. Jesus has given each of us the right to live in Him. I know you know too!

And I believe you are right. The law does that to us. Points out sin. Grace points out Jesus!

Your wrong in your assumptions.

DC, Myself and all the people you are arguing with BELIEVE what you just said.

Yet you keep lieing about them saying they do not believe it, then defend yourself when people point it out to you.

I have said the same to Endo a few times. I have even asked "What is it we disagree with?

He more or less told me that I do not know the Bible and start with systemic theology.

You know, even if one would just truly think about the scriptures assuring us of eternal salvation, a bit of common sense should help us to see the security of our salvation doesn't come from us by from the power of God through His Son and the sealing of the Holy Spirit. Really, just think about it in simple terms.

Oh we humans just have to complicate such a simple matter.

If we are to build one another up, how can that be possible with so much difference of interpretation among believers? I can't "build up" someone who is convinced that I have to work for my salvation and to keep on working or that salvation can be lost. I almost started a thread about this but it ties in with this thread so I'm just gonna ask this question here.

You got this mixed up studyman. Most are trying to obey rules and keeping God at arms length so to speak.

Intimacy. Comes from being one with Him. This walk of faith in His keeping power is much greater and more victorious than our trying to be what He has already made us.
That sounds really religious and spiritual Stones. But who are the "Most" out there trying to obey Him? Mainstream Christianity is the greatest purveyor of disobedience to God's Law on the planet. This is a fact of life that can not be denied. If claiming to know Jesus and denying the instructions of God is the key to eternal life, then who is on the narrow path?

You actually believe that striving to do as Jesus instructs leads us AWAY from God. My goodness that sounds familiar.

Gen. 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat (disregard His Instructions) thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

And I am mixed up.

That's patronizing...

All whom he has chosen because it is God working in them to do so; Philippians 2:12-15. I know you don't like that, you need someone to spiritually body slam.

Mainstream Christianity is the greatest purveyor of disobedience to God's Law on the planet. This is a fact of life that can not be denied.
I'm denying it because it is false. Lone ranger types like yourself are the gravest danger to sound doctrine and to the babes in Christ. That is a fact.

You actually believe that striving to do as Jesus instructs leads us AWAY from God. My goodness that sounds familiar.
That statement is false, condescending and accusatory. Nowhere was that stated nor implied.

And I am mixed up.
Agreed, and you are.

Am offering this with a bit of trepidation.

You do stones a disservice.

She did not say that striving to do as Jesus instructs leads us away from God.

She said people try to obey God yet keep him at arms length so to speak.

You have totally taken what she has said, misconstrued it in order to post what you have. Which quite frankly shows that your mixed up.

I suggest you apologise.

Believers do try to obey God.
Yet some do so because they have been told/taught you must work in order for God to love you or accept you. Life's experiences can also add to this.
People do good in the hope that they are accepted but are very wary in case they get it wrong.
So they do good but at same time keep the person who they are trying to appease at arms length.
They do so because there is no relationship.

What does God foremost want from us?
Is it works or is it relationship?

Does he want works to appease him or works because we love him?

Did he created Adam and Eve to be appeased or for relationship?

Believe it or not there are believers who do keep God at arms length. They do works.

They do so because they do not want or fear that they will slapped up, slapped down and rejected one minute and accepted the next.

The Hokey Cokey dance comes to mind.

Obviously I'm mixed up as well.

Mainstream Chistianity is the greatest purveyor of disobedience to Gods law??

wish I had a love button to push.

I get raccoons in the evening that eat the leftover cat food. Even had a possum once with babies. One fell off, and I tried to keep it but didn't know how. They are so cute. We have woods beside us, and so far no coyotes.

I need to take pics too.
