For the record. I think telling a baby christian they will never struggle with the desires of the flesh anymore, and this his self will, and gods spirit will be at war with them trying to show them the way of faith, based on the fact they are now saved, is a very dangerous thing, and is setting up a new child of God for utter failure. [/QUOTE

Have you ever witnessed a baby Christian have absolute victory over something in their life soon after[like a week or month]getting saved that you still struggle with?

I have and in the past it used to burn me up. Then I came to understand I had not gained victory in that area of my life, because I chose not to release and surrender it and put it under the blood.

Everyone that is saved has a choice to make regarding what they release and surrender and put under the blood. The struggle is real, until you release and surrender all of the area you are working to be Christ like in.

Part of total release and surrender is understanding your position and identity in Christ. It seems to me the more mature a Christian becomes, the less they remember what their position and identity in Christ really is and the power it gives them.

What did Jesus mean when he said...

The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
Why do you always have to ask the hard questions:cool:

Here's my simple answer.

My spirit is willing but my flesh is weak.

Just to add, as we grow in Jesus, as we walk in sanctification then the Holy Spirit in us increases and guess what decreases?

Answers on a postcard please.

What you have just done is explain what paul spoke of in romans 7. The war with failing to trust Christ and gaining victory in areas of our life. And gaining victory when we follow the spirit and learn to trust Christ.

AMEN..........Even Jesus had a "moment" under the sun where he struggled with his flesh......IF it be possible let this cup pass from me.........

No one will ever convince me otherwise......we have a born again spirit of incorruptible seed that does not sin, is eternally sealed, saved, justified and sanctified in Christ housed in a fallen dead body of SIN that is not subject unto the word of God and neither indeed can be....the BATTLE GROUND is the MIND and if one studies, applies the word and makes a reasonable attempt to serve faithfully they can and will....if they are not transformed by the renewing of the mind by the word they will struggle, be disobedient and sin more than the former...either way the bolded is still true.....and our salvation is secure.......

The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.

"IS"............................................. ;)
Technically his name was Jesus to those when he walked on the earth.
Technically he is Jesus to all those who now walk with him on the earth.

In heaven he is the Alpha and the Omega.

Always was and always will be.

Sorry the mischievous side of Bill just spoke up.

It's not about quantity. It's about if you are still LIVING IN sin like an unbeliever.

Paul said it plainly...

"those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God"-Galatians 5:21

This means one of three things.

1. Every single person alive is not going to inherit the kingdom because every single person 'lives like this'.

2. Grace is a license to sin that makes it so that those who believe can 'live like this' but still enter the kingdom.

3. Believers have the Holy Spirit in salvation and because of that they no longer 'live like this' but are being conformed to the image of Christ.

So which one are you going to go with? We know the gospel is true and that there will be those who will inherit the kingdom, so #1 is out. And you have said grace is not a license to sin, so #2 is out. That leaves #3, Budman, but I'm guessing you're going to try to wiggle out of it in order to rationalize living in sin and being no different than unsaved people.

The hypocrite is the person who really isn't what he says he is. Like an actor on a stage. I would be a hypocrite if I believed and lived out YOUR doctrine that claims there is no difference between the saved and the unsaved when it comes to sinning. YOU believe that, not me. That makes YOU the hypocrite, not me. YOU are the one who says you are no different than the unbeliever. YOU are the hypocrite.

What sins, Ralph? Tell me; WHAT SINS?

Since I have placed my faith in Jesus as my savior, believing He died on the cross and rose again on the third day, trusting that He paid the full price for my personal sins, I HAVE NO SINS TO ACCOUNT FOR!

They're gone, Ralph. Gone, and never coming back. So again, what sins are attributed to me?

You actually need sins to make your works-based salvation heresy to work. You need your little account book, a running tally to tell if you or others are "truly saved". You are so Pharisaical it stinks to heaven. But you go even further than average heretics, you claim no one can even know if they're saved until Jesus comes back, tallies up the works, and then saves them or not.

Even the worst cult leaders could take lessons from you.

Their JESUS is perpetually nailed to the cross.........My Jesus paid for every sin I would ever commit.....his blood and righteousness being imputed and applied eternally....HIS MERCY FAILS NOT and IS EVERLASTING......FOREVER!

Every Christian still has the flesh. The difference between believers and unbelievers is believers don't live in the flesh anymore. If they did they would be showing themselves to not be believers.
You don't "live in the flesh" anymore, Ralphie?

Then you wouldn't sin, would you?

But you do.

And don't give me that nonsense about the amount of sins, because, yet again, even one single solitary sin that is attributed to us will send us straight to hell.

At least you've admitted we have the two natures. Whether you really wanted to or not.

I have Indian blood as well.
Well I say Indian.

My grandad was allowed to patriate to Scotland.

He lived in the region of India that is now known as Pakistan.

He always insisted he was Pakistani and not Indian.

My uncle's and aunts say the same as well.
Ps, you missed of

Jesus being the light of the world.

John 8:12

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

That makes sense, You did not have the spirit to war against.

It is good to see you now see it, it will help keep you focused on the spirit. And allow grace to work in you when your flesh has victories, which it will..
