If one can lose salvation, what security do they have? Seriously.

If keeping our salvation is dependent upon our works, doesn't the OT show us that didn't work?

Praise God for the NT and His gift of salvation, which is opened up to all mankind.
Luke 24:49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

John 14:12-31 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.

John 5:30 BY MYSELF I CAN DO NOTHING; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Matthew 19:17,26 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”

<-------apply to all who push a works based false gospel that has no power!

It pleased God by the foolishness of PREACHING to save them that BELIEVE<------BELIEVE PAL.....not work for it!

New International Version 1984 Romans 10:8-21 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through THE WORD OF CHRIST. But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, “I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.” And Isaiah boldly says, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a DISOBEDIENT AND OBSTINATE PEOPLE.”

"lets just take pure / purity. if I have a glass of water, and you ask me " is this pure, clean water " and I say " yes, it is ", and then you take it, have it tested, and find 3 microscopic things in it, that should not be there, then it is NOT pure. it is almost pure, very good, but, not pure.

so, to say that you walk in purity, without adding the truth that sometimes you stumble, then this is dishonest, untruthful , speaking. because a pure, blameless walk would mean no stumbles. we ( you to ) all stumble. most of us are truthful about it. will you be?"

Let us start being honest. David was regarded as righteous, blameless and pure, yet in the
eyes of many he was not.
Or Samson or most of the heroes of scripture, they had their trails and failures, but God still
regarded them as men of faith.

So being blameless is about ones attitude before the Lord despite mistakes and problems.
But if the motive is to exclude a term of purity and cleansing as without the possibility of
stumbling one is not being biblical.

Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God--
even as I try to please everybody in every way
1 Corinthians 10:32-33

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
James 3:2

Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.
But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.
1 John 2:10-11

This shows walking in Holiness, and purity, which the apostles talk about
also includes stumbling and resolving the issues.

As is obvious the whole temple system is built on the fact we fail but are
growing and developing, so travelling in the right direction despite our flaws.
It is why only through communion and expressions of love from the heart do
we make perfect the work God has started in us.

My point is this walk is long, and takes time, endurance, patience, self control,
yet a whole group seem to aspire to giving up and denying what God is declaring,
through being washed we are made pure and holy, until we are defiled again, when
we need cleansing and resolving, each time growing and getting closer to God.

Mans way is to draw strong dividing lines, and put things on one side or the other,
whereas God waits, and sees where things end up, which more clearly shows what
they really are. Like for me to look into these questions, raise the concepts is so
challenging I must be evil. This would equate for me to the mire of despondancy
that Pilgrim in Pilgrims progress has to cross. It can destroy your very soul.

pretty much agree with this....., except the only thing that will destroy a soul in unbelief in Jesus.

Yes I agree, Jesus changes us now. He had changed us in that we now have a new Spirit. The Holy Spirit who resides in us.
That's how he changes us now, sanctification. The process and walking and growing and begin conformed to the image of Jesus.

Not sure what you mean by the cross conquering sin.
I would say the cross conquered sin.

Not sure what you mean by leaving sinners bound in sin and hearts defended and frozen is a gospel with no meaning of power.
Are you taking about non believers? If so the gospel means nothing.

Sinners who have come to Jesus are not frozen with regards to the Gospel.
Or are you saying those who come to Jesus and acknowledge they sin are actually saying the Gospel had no meaning of power to set them free?

As for your last paragraph I have no idea what you are trying to convey
Greetings Bill,

The cross in our lives empowers us to resist sinful behavior and walk righteously.
I cannot speak for you, but I have found this in my life.

I have met hard hearted believers who claim faith but they are cruel, uncaring,
aggressive and destructive to others. If you talk about forgiveness and love they
can immediately name people they refuse to forgive and bile pours out from them
about these individuals. This results in sin binding their hearts and shutting Jesus
out no matter what level of faith and professions they might have.

Now these very people if I talk to them about theology, and love and walking in
Christs ways, I will be told I am wrong, evil, possessed or anything else that can
be thrown my way. Now you may not realise the connection, but after seeing
this in person after person, I now see why purity and cleansing is essential and is
the key to resolving all things in Christ Jesus.

The heart is desperately wicked and betrays the sinner unless it is purified. Defending
sinful behavior is its biggest aim, and working any means to keep things stable and under
control undermines all the work Jesus is doing in our hearts. I discovered this many years
ago, and since then I know what broken before the cross means.

In reality only those who have been there know the meaning of the words, because it
describes an experience rather than an idea. I believe it is also where we stay in Christ,
because Christ emptied Himself and did what the Father was doing. We are called to go
the way of Christ, walk in His footsteps. I have faith you know what this means, but I
also know many here have no clue. Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus, amen.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

If a person holds unto sin then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

1Co 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Some would say they struggle with sin,and they stumble at sin,but is that the truth,or is it they will not allow the Spirit to lead them and abstain from sin because they want to enjoy sin,and money, and material things.

It would appear as if there is no struggle, and stumble, but people not allowing the Spirit to lead them, for they know that God hates sin,and what sins those are,but they do it intentionally, and then say they struggle.

They sin on purpose and then say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God.

So does stumble apply,or is it they will not allow the Spirit to lead them.

Because that is strange they say,I struggle,I stumble,I cannot abstain from sin,all the while they sin on purpose and try not to beat it,for they have the choice between good and evil, and if they do evil they could of chose the good, and nobody for them to sin.

And God will not allow those led of the Spirit to be tempted more than what they can handle, and will give them an escape from the temptation,so how could they not beat the temptation and they sinned if those led of the Spirit will be lightly tempted to where they can handle it,and will have an escape from it.

Because they want to enjoy sin,and are not led of the Spirit, for the Spirit will not lead anyone that does not hate sin,and does not want sin,for they are not putting forth the effort to want to abstain from sin.

Who do they think they are fooling, and God is not mocked for whatever a person sows that shall they reap, and blessed is the person that endures temptation, and does not sin,for He shall receive the crown of life, given to all the people that love Christ.

I struggle,I stumble,I cannot abstain from sin, what,be honest and admit you like to sin for who do they think they are fooling, because it is a lack of allowing the Spirit to lead them.

God said give offense in nothing that the ministry is not blamed, and they say they cannot abstain from sin which gives blame to the ministry as they say they are hypocritical, and are they trying to bring people to Christ,or repel them.

If Christ lives in them, they wouldn't be defending so as to promote sinning. The question is who is living inside them and leading them?

Galatians 2:17-21 “If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, IT BECOMES EVIDENT THAT WE OURSELVES ARE SINNERS, does that mean that Christ PROMOTES SIN? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Let's dissect this:

If Christ lives in them,
Implying others are lost.

they wouldn't be defending so as to promote sinning.
Bearing false witness.

The question is who is living inside them and leading them?
Suggesting they are demon possessed, or indwelt by Satan.

no one is defending and promoting sin. we are promoting honesty and truth, something all Christians should do, instead of dishonest lying about not sinning.

no one is sinless. just saying that you do not sin is a lie, therefore a sin in itself.

"People should not talk about dispensationalism when they have no idea what that is either. And when you are a liar over and over again, Yet deny you lie, You should not try to tell others what lieing looks like. Because you do not underdstand that either."

I need to comment on a statement like this. It is dismissive, and ignorant.
Dispensationalism is splitting the gospel up into different dispensations. And we are all
dispensational to a degree, else we could not be believers. If making these simple observations
is lying, then the writer is just wanting to slander and not discuss.
dude, you have no clue what dispensationalsim is. I have been all my life. And no churhc i ever went to teaches the way you insist they do. And there have been many as I travelled the country in the military. So please stop. You making a fool of yourself.

Dispensationalsim does not split the gospel up. Maybe a small select portion does. But mainstream, dispensationalsim do not do this. So please. Once again, If you do not know what your talking about. Then just don’t say a word.

You are lying, be it ignorance, or just unwilling to learn. But either way. Stop with the nonsense.

"this guy just rambles about nothing"

How can any believer say purity and Holiness are nothing, if literally without walking
in these things we will never enter heaven?

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
1 Thess 4:7

These are not my words but Gods.

Jesus called us to work at our salvation, to press on and endure, but it is like arriving
and resting is everything for some people.
No one say this but you.. Your the only one who rambles this nonsense. Everyone else says purity and holiness comes from God.. Yet you deny they say it and claim they deny it..

I would also ask him what he thinks about the cross. Is the cross enough. And if not, why is it not enough, ie, What needs to be added to the cross for a person to enter eternity in heaven

John 5:28-30, “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth – those who have done* righteousness, to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced* evil matters, to a resurrection of judgment. Of Myself I am unable to do any matter. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own desire, but the desire of the Father who sent Me.”
You continue to read the Bible through the lens of works salvation (salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works) and you also continue to confuse DESCRIPTIVE passages of scripture with PRESCRIPTIVE passages of scripture.

The good deeds of the redeemed (those who have done good) are not the basis or means of receiving eternal life, but are the evidence of it. A person's conduct, whether good or evil, reveals the condition of their heart.

Doing good flows inescapably from a heart that is saved and doing evil flows equally inescapably from a heart that is unsaved, as we also see in Romans 2:6-10. Notice that ALL who come forth unto the resurrection of life (believers - vs. 24) are described as those who have done good (also see Romans 2:10) and ALL that come forth unto the resurrection of damnation (unbelievers) are described as those who have done evil (also see Romans 2:9).

What did Jesus say in John 3:18? - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already..

Are believers described as "those who have done good" or those who have done evil?"

Are unbelievers described as those "who have done evil" or "those who have done good?"

John 14:23-24, “יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.”
Description of believers (those who love Me/guard My Word). Description of unbelievers (those who do not love Me/do not guard My Words).

Even in todays age, you're going to have the Pharisees of Christians come forth, and they know more than we do, they are self righteous, they are all about works and being held accountable under the old law......it's better to be humble and learn then to be proud and foolish.

If a person holds unto sin then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away.
That would make us stronger than the blood of Jesus, because the Bible says His blood took away the sins of the entire world.

By your reasoning, salvation would not be a gift, and grace would be merited.
