Some pathetic insults, you're doctrine is crumbling, clearly.
His doctrine is to be like Jesus.

How does that doctrine crumble in your eyes?

Isn't that the goal of a person that takes on the name of Jesus Christ (Christian)?

And I also disagree that my flesh was totally put to death. If this were so, it couldn't rise up and there would be no reason for me to pick up my cross or to treat my flesh roughly.

Desperation shows if one "can't stand by" what they believe,I have no quams with someone wanting to be like Jesus, but looking close one can see words falling to the ground from such an individual I have been through the ringer a few times with such individuals and they can't "keep to" their "own doctrines" because they have a "see everyone else" but "not themselves" mentality.

I don't know if you're trying to pass judgment or not, my hope is that you aren't. But when you are speaking of hypocrisy, ALL of us could be thrown into that boat, because we all still sin, we all still fall short of the glory of God, EVERYDAY. I close my eyes and pray to the Lord that he would forgive me where I have failed him that day or night, nobody is above or exempt from this. Roman 3:23 tells us that. The salvation Christ offers us is a free gift, and it's our choice whether to accept that gift, or to reject it. Accepting the gift does not mean you are going to be perfect, yet yes, we should strive every day to serve and please our Lord...BUT we are still going to sin, but that does not mean that the works the Holy Spirit manifests inside of us can not be seen, for they will for us who truly are endwelled with the Holy Spirit. The point is, we still as Christians are going to contend with the flesh, every single day until we see our Lord face to face and inherit our glorified body....and yes, faith without works is dead, but when we have the Holy Spirit, that means we have the faith in our Lord Jesus, and when He manifests Himself in our lives, He in turn manifests His works in us (Fruits of the Spirit, sharing the Gospel), those works are ever more present.

So at least a safe goal is to be as much like Jesus as we can, right?

It is not a fallacy to worship on Saturday if that is what you believe. The key is that you come together and worship on a day that you think is the right day to worship.

Some Christians think the right day is Saturday. Some Christians think the right day is Sunday. The NT does not difinitively help us to know what the absolute right day is, so either day has to be OK.

What is not right is the Christians that believe Saturday is the right day, continually harrass other Christians that worshipping on Sunday is against God and you will find yourself in hell. And it is not right that Christians who believe Sunday is the right day to worship coninually harrass other Christians that worshipping on Saturday is against God and you will find yourself in hell.

So can we all just get along. Thank you.
I never tell anyone they must worship on Sunday. Besides, we should praise the Lord and be grateful for what He has done for us every single day. It is rather lovely to come together with other believers for teaching, fellowship, and worship, though, and also we are cautioned not to forego this, and many do this at least weekly :) Those who relentlessly and ruthlessly push the Sabbath are blinded by their slavery to law keeping.

How could we do it??
My righteousness must exceed theirs!
I break Gods law to not murder when I have anger in my heart at you!
I tell you I can NOT do it.
I could judge outwardly and pridefully claim I have always kept that law, but who wants to live a farce?
If it is to happen, He must do it. It would be ridiculous for me to claim I can do it.
But He can. He can give me purity of heart. I see His work in me all the time. I didn't used to, when I tried hard to do it myself.

Now will we go into our old dance of you asking me if I never sin and me having to relate to you all of my many sins? ;)
According to the person you agreed with, He thinks he can do it.

So I guess I wonder why you agreed with him?

It's ok I suppose though one has to accept eventually that it's impossible to be the same as Jesus and that one needs Jesus.

Your thinking does not work for many people here, either. Events do not trigger anger. What you believe about the meaning of the event is the trigger. Attitude is ninety percent, and circumstance only ten percent. Also, people too often talk about anger as if it were a sin, when it is not a sin at all if the things that anger you also anger God.

Just don't allow your anger to cause you to sin <<<~ now there's the tricky part.

Amen, the same event that may trigger anger in one person. May trigger sorrow in another person. And may trigger no reaction in another.

It is not the trigger that is the issue, it is our attitude and frame of mind (where were we focused)

the same man who called those who believe in faiht alone legalism, also excused his own sin by blaming triggers or other outward things..

Anger is an emotion yes. It is a motion of the heart. It is murder by our Saviors words. By His words, it is a motion of the heart that is murder.

You remind me of peterjens. He used to come in here. Don't know when he stopped posting...anyway, you remind me of him. :)

He reminds EVERYONE who knew him of that person.

by the way, just so you know, Peter stopped posting when he was banned!

Some people think the right day is every day, or as often as they can, Not one day a week. They would not tell their spouses who they love I will come see and spend a few hours with you on one day. Why would they do it to God who saved them?

No his doctrine is to of your own power be like jesus, and if you do this, your saved.

Vs, getting saved through repentance and faith, and letting Jesus mold you into a person who is like him.

HUGE difference.

or get out of Gods way and let him mold us into people who are like jesus. You can’t be like Jesus in your flesh no matter how hard you try

I will agree with you for those who relentlessly and ruthlessly push the Saturday Sabbath are out of line.

But those that humbly go their way and believe that Saturday is still the Sabbath and come together on that day and worship God and Jesus, I do not think are blinded by their slavery to law keeping. Do you agree?

Yep as I recall oh so well some guys in the new testament leaped into casting out demons without believing wholly in Jesus and were chased away by devils, you must have "Jesus" or you have "nothing" to stand against sin with.

The tax collector got on his knees and accepted Christ, (like most people) One does not have to do a deed to accpet christ, they just have to do it.

Agreed.

G3340
μετανοέω
metanoeō
met-an-o-eh'-o
From G3326 and G3539; to think differently or afterwards, that is, reconsider (morally to feel compunction): - repent.
Total KJV occurrences: 34
μετανοέω metanoeō

Tense: Aorist
Voice: Active
Mood: Imperative
* The Aorist Active Imperative (a commandment) verb form occurs 375 times in the New Testament.

Yeshua came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
Matthew 4:17 tells us: "Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Yeshua was not suggesting repentance here, He is commanding it.

Repentence is continual until Glorification:

  • Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God Bless...

"functioning as wolves"

These are strong words, dangerous accusations.
In the past such words have led to one group actually killing another over
points of view of faith, claiming the other side were really xxxxxxxxxxxx evil.

It is always easy to do this than understand why things are said and believed.
So I suggest rather than cursing scripture, and cursing believers, you actually
take time to let the Lord show you what love is and how it works.

Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus

Unfortunately those who go down this road you are travelling harden their hearts to the extent
