For those who actually care...

I believe eternal security is the doctrine that teaches that God is stronger and more powerful than we are. His love can overcome all our sins, tear down all our strongholds and help us to walk with Him through His Holy spirit.

We may fall, but God will not give up on us. He will pick us up and set our feet on solid ground.

I believe that when God starts something, He finishes it,

God started our salvation with adopting us His children and giving us His Holy spirit.

I believe God will never disown us, even if we walk away He will still love us. He will still call for us and send us messages to come back home to His loving arms.

I don't believe anyone can wander too far away that God can't reach down and bring them back to Him.

I believe in God's sovereign power that he allows some to wander away on order to meet some of the lost in their journey and bring them back home to Him.

God has a purpose and a plan for the lives of each of His beloved children.

Those who "fall away" and are never drawn back in this life, only had the external blessings of the earthly church. They were never a part of God's family if they are never chastened for their sins. However we can't decide who is and who isn't part of the family. Only God can see into folks hearts and only He can change and rewrite their story.

Eternal salvation is only given to God's born again children who are sealed and lead by the Holy Spirit. Some people fool themselves and others and say they are among those counted by God as His, but only God and that person truly knows the truth of each person's statement.
It is a little thing known as eternal life.

Which jesus said we have it
Paul said we have it
John said we have it, and he is so afraid we do not think we have it, he wrote a whole book, so we can know we have it, and he called it the bases for the ability to continue to believe in his name.

I do not understand why people make it so difficult. Its not hard to understand.

It's as hard as understanding as it is to have a saving faith in Christ and what He did on the cross.

Some things take divine grace to understand.

for a non believer, I agree, the things of God are foolish.

But to a person who has claimed to be a christian for years.. I do not see why it is so hard.. Paul deemed it th ebasics of christian life. If we do not have this down, the rest will suffer.

I do believe it is the main issue in the church..

It's the strawmen. They make it hard to talk through all the smoke.

It's a common human/worldly/fleshly tactic to vilify the position of the opponent and falsely represent what they believe or have said.

One would think mature Christians would see past the enemies tactics by now, but apparently not.

You object to doctrine labeled eternal security. You have no clue what I refer to when I use the same words, but you stick to your theologians.

So much easier than actually listening and having a conversation.
Yes. I will Always stick to those who lived at the time of Jesus.
In the last 200 years we've become inundated with doctrine that is new and not biblical.
Such as

Hyper Grace
Word of Faith
Eternal Security (perseverance of the saints, OSAS)
Total Depravity
Limited Atonement
Unconditional Election
Irresistable Grace

There is only one meaning for Eternal Security. Why would I not understand what you mean?

I have not problems with cheap grace or anything people fling at me.

I do not have problems plastering this over images of Jesus and dying on
the cross.

But it this seems to have passed you by, which really was my point.
You in the perjorative did not even notice.

That is what grieves me, nothing to do with me or supposed insult.

Things dear to my heart are there for a reason and I fear for those who
treat such things lightly.

But they took the Lord of love and crucified Him because they could not
face the implications that such a life needs a life response, not just words
and small statements.

God bless you
I think its not only grace they attack but everything holy.. im beginning to wondere if some are possessed here. several if not more than ten diffrent scriptures ive posted about waitng and hoping for salvation it just get chucked back at us like it means nothing..

Total disrerguarded like it doesnt mean nothing..

I say its a sect that as Gone to far in there beliefs..

i say nevermind cake takers and watch out for the law takers...

Jesus said not one jot of the law shall be left out.. which includes waiting patiently for the day of salvation..our merited favor to come..

Yup this is how i see it when where saved we recieve an unmerited favor... then when we recieve are crown we recieve a merited favor..

It may be the only assurance of salvation they have in their death cult. Plus the men are promised multiple perpetual virgins to ravish and rape for eternity. Still, there are Christians here who will stick up for this Satanic "religion" that poses as Abrahamic in origin even though Muslims largely reject the Scriptures of Abraham.

Thats because they believe in salvation by works, The same legalistic tactic used by religion that got them to kill them selves to begin with.

What church? The jewish church? The Church of God believed in eternal life. Not in conditional life. The jewish church taught conditional life. And the roman church instituted it when it [aganised the churhc and made it the world religion by the order of ceasar.

But hey, if you want conditional life, and insecurity. You can have it..

as for my God, when he says something, he means it, Unlike men and women, he keeps his word for his word is what makes him who he is.

and your right, there is only one CORRECT meaning of eternal security, Sadly, it is not the meaning you and your brothers think it is.

The most foul doctrine that has ever been put into the mind of man from our enemy is the belief that we lose our salvation. Jesus is the Savior - we do not save ourselves.

A drowning, dying man doesn't need 5 lessons on how to learn how to swim, and if you don't learn these lessons and learn how to swim before you make it to the shore - you will die. No, a thousand times NO - he needs a Savior.

Jesus is NOT a liar when He said "The Holy Spirit will be in you forever."

Jesus is NOT a liar when He said that "None that come to Me will I lose - it is My Father's will that I lose none of them."

Jesus is NOT a liar when He said "No one shall take you out of My hands nor My Father's hands".

Jesus is NOT a liar when He said "I will never forsake, I will not, I will not leave you."

Jesus has obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb. 9:12 In Him we have redemption - the forgiveness of sins. Eph. 1:7

There is something drastically wrong when people are constantly telling people that they do not have eternal life even though Jesus said that they do.

We need to be preaching and teaching the love and grace of God in Christ that is the gospel message. Feed people the proper nutrients of Christ Himself and we will manifest His life in and through us to a hurt and dying world that needs to see and know the love and grace our loving Father and Lord have for them.

The perseverance of the saints means that all those who are truly born again will be kept by God’s power and will persevere as Christians until the end of their lives, and that only those who persevere until the end have been truly born again.
Wayne Grudem from Systematic Theology (pg. 788)

If our religion be of our own getting or making, it will perish; and the sooner it goes, the better; but if our religion is a matter of God's giving, we know that He shall never take back what He gives, and that, if He has commenced to work in us by His grace, He will never leave it unfinished.
C.H. Spurgeon

For non-reformed theologies..."at the end of the day, the security of the believer finally rests with the believer. For those in the opposite camp [Reformed], the security of the believer finally rests with God -- and that, I suggest, rightly taught, draws the believer back to God himself, to trust in God, to a renewed faith that is of a piece with trusting him in the first place."
D.A. Carson

When we speak of “once saved, always saved,” we are not taking into account the full scope of salvation. We have been saved (justification), was are being saved (sanctified), and we will one day be saved (glorified). You cannot claim to have been “saved” (justified) unless you are being sanctified. Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord.

You believe you can lose your eternal life that Jesus died and rose again to give you. YOU may be right!!, But I know I can't. Because I know the one who holds it in His Hands. Jesus The Christ!

How do you know you are saved now? Maybe your anger at the ladies here was enough sinning that you lost it.

John 5 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life,[d] and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Why wouldn't you want to KNOW (be eternally secure) that you have ETERNAL life?

Because folks are more intent with labeling those truths as "easy believism" , or "Hyper Grace" or whatever else they can to demean and besmirch those that have child like faith and trust in the Most High Almighty God for what He has actually spoken through the scriptures, what He accomplished on the Cross AND what He speaks to our hearts through His Spirit.

No it's because they believe the lies that Reformed (aka than Calvinist boogie man) don't believe in free will and that limited atonement means that Jesus only died for an elect few and that Calvinist believe in a mean and unjust God. Also that those who believe themselves elect are more prone to pride and don't crucify the old man or learn to walk with the Holy Spirit and produce fruit unto repentance.

I see the straw man already being erected.

It's sad that people can't see past the lies.

It could also be when you know Jesus and love, fear is cast away because fear has to do with
condemnation.

Are we focused on the now and living here rather than what might be in the future?
I have found people who think they have arrived do not see the work of love is eternal, we just
need to realise it.

Our security is in the cross, not eternity, because the cross speaks of Gods love that never fails.
A promise is words, the cross is action and intent, making the words real. I live only in the moment,
the future is what will be, all I need is tomorrow's next step and I will climb the mountain.

You may not have noticed it is those who find Gods heart of love working in them, that are walking
in the Spirit, and are concerned how to meet the needs of those around them. A heart of love is
Gods heart, nothing else really matters.

Our security is in Christ Himself and what He has already done. Not in ourselves and our ability to "do" things.

We have eternal life in Christ now. It's time to "repent and believe in the gospel" just like Jesus said in Mark 1:15

1 John 5:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13[/SUP]
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Christ is our wisdom, Christ is our righteousness, Christ is our sanctification, Christ is our redemption - none of these are things that "we do". It is all "by His doing".

1 Corinthians 1:30 (NASB)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus,
who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

Having a heart filled of God's love is important, but wisdom and knowledge of sound doctrine and God's promises gives hope while walking and bearing ones own cross.

The troubles of this world fade in the light of eternity with God. That hope gives a peace and joy only God's love provides, because it rests upon the knowledge one day we get to go home to our Father.

We are strangers in this world on mission as ambassadors for our Father King.

How we speak reflects upon our understanding and relationship with God.

So to summarise, the problem with our faith is how well we understand doctrine and not
how we live out our lives in the Spirit and express His love!!!!

I think this is why evangelical thought too much to prove things rather than dwell and walk
in the ways of love. It has always been about our hearts and our treasure not our understanding.

This is how it looks to me. We live in such wealth the question is now how we live not how
much wealth we have, because this is becoming a culture of loneliness and isolation rather
than the Kingdom of love and integration in Christ.

Yet another straw man from PeterJens....

"how we live out our lives in the Spirit and express His love" is based upon our doctrine.whether you admit to yourself or not....whether you want to use the word doctrine or not.

.what you believe to be true and from God, guides how you live your life.

Simple statement of fact.

Part of expressing His love for me is when folks actually listen to what is being said, instead of replacing the meaning with lies (either whispered externally or made up from internal pride doesn't really matter any more.)
