Hello Ariel, how are you? So you cannot show me a bible verse that says that Jesus is our Sabbath?

God bless you
PS Ariel Do you know what a High Sabbath is? (John 19:31) What is an annual Sabbaths that is connected to feast days that do not even fall on the 7th Day of the week (Lev 23)?

Did you know all of the above are not referring to God's 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11) but are connected to annual feast days? Did you know that these annual Sabbaths are also connected with New Moons, meat and drink offering and holy days? Funny how they all seem to fit so well with Col 2 in the new testament is talking about don't you think?

God bless you

Seriously?

Colossians 2
16Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. 1

***
Yet you will probably reject or twist this verse to fit your theology that allows you to condemn anyone who does not keep the weekly Sabbath as you do.

Still waiting for your answer to my question. Where in the bible does it say that Jesus is our Sabbath? Where does it say in the Bible we not longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath a holy day? I believe God's Word how about you?

Ariel, how can "no strings attached" be unbiblical? There are NOT ANY strings attached to our salvation.. Jesus says very clearly that if we only believe and have faith, we are saved by His grace. There aren't any "but you must do this and that also" strings hanging on anywhere.. If "no strings attached" IS unbiblical, I'd like to know how, because if that's true, then our salvation has conditions attached to it..

Scriptures over and over again, put conditions on Salvation. Are we to repent in order to be Saved? How is that not a condition? Are we to confess? How is that not a condition? Are we to OBEY Jesus? Again, yet another condition.
Is it not written: if you do not forgive men their trespasses your Father in Heaven will NOT Forgive you. How then is that not a condition for Salvation? Scriptures plainly teaches that all liars will burn in the lake of fire and brimstone, how is that not a condition for Salvation, or do you believe you can be a liar and still be Saved going to Heaven? Scriptures teach Liars will not enter into Heaven. What then, if a liar claims to be Saved, that excludes them from all Scriptures which teach a Liar will not enter into Heaven.

What about the condition of Hating someone?

1Jn_2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

1Jn_2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1Jn_3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

1Jn_4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

So what then. if a person believes in Jesus and has faith in Jesus Christ, then that person can Hate someone, and their Salvation is still sure? What then, do we discard all the above verses concerning those who hate someone. So then according to you. all a person needs to do is to believe and have faith, and that is it, no strings attached, nothing else required. If this is True, then we might as well get rid of MANY Scriptures which teach otherwise.

Bob has believes in Jesus Christ. Bob got Saved 10 years ago. Bob has Faith in Jesus Christ. Bob repents of his sins. Bob hates a couple of people at his work. Bob does not forgive what David did to him and his family. Tell me. According to Scriptures (not what men teach) According to Scriptures, even though Bob believes and has Faith in Jesus Christ, is he going to Heaven? Now before you answer remember the verses that says if you do not forgive others, neither will you be forgiven. it also says if you hate, you lie and do not know the TRUTH and walk in darkness. So answer. Bob Believes and has Faith in Jesus and Bob hates people, and Bob don't forgive others. Still going to Heaven because of his Belief and Faith? Or are Scriptures TRUE and what men teach lies?
Here is the TRUTH, Just because you Believe in Jesus, and have Faith in Jesus, DOES NOT NEGATE SCRIPTURES. You can't believe ONLY a few verses which teach what it takes to be SAVED, you have to believe them ALL.
There is a verse that teaches if you believe in Jesus you are Saved. Does believing ONLY that verse negate the verses which teach you must repent to be Saved? Does believing on that one verse negate the verse which teaches you must confess to be SAVED? This generation picks and chooses which verses they will believe in and which ones need to be interpreted away, made void, or just ignored.
It would behoove a person who TRULY wanted to know what Scriptures teach about what it means to be SAVED, to study and BELIEVE ALL verses concerning that topic, instead of picking and choosing a couple to live by and ignore the rest.

So according to the teaching of men, all a person need to do to be Saved is to believe and have Faith in Jesus. According to Scriptures there is MORE to it than that. demons, believed and knew that Jesus was the Son of God, and they even OBEYED HIM. imagine that demons OBEY HIM, but leave it to this generation to think it is alright to NOT OBEY Jesus and continue to live in disobedience by obey His enemy and committing sins.

Yes their are conditions to Salvation, Scriptures teaches there is.

Don't worry Ariel you are on the right track!
Hebrews chapter 4 most definitely makes Jesus Christ our Sabbath rest.
Just start reading from Chapter 1 all the way through - the context is very clear then.
Notwithstanding, the false interpretation placed on it by lovegodforever that I read in another thread...

Why does it say those things (Sabbath, etc) are shadows and that Jesus is the SUBSTANCE?

Same reason Jesus is the Manna from Heaven.

Learn what it means that God would have mercy and not sacrifice.

Learn what it means to rest in God's love.

Learn what it means to a true born again child of God.

Then maybe we can converse and your broken record will be fixed.

If you are hung up on certain foods and drink, when God has said all food is good, and certain drinks you should not drink and you drink it anyway, then judgment will be past against you.. Same thing goes for festivals, new moon and the Sabbath. If you go to festivals among heathens and worship the new moon, then you are asking to be judged. As for the sabbath, people are judging right this moment because all don't keep it.

Now you are just lying....I posted 18 verses that prove salvation by faith void of works and asked for you to post 10 in context that do and you argued and failed to post one....another deceiver here for sure.....!
If a person can even post ONE verse then it would prove what you believe to be inaccurate:
Tell me, in order to be Saved, does one need to Repent? Are you saying for one to pray to God and repent of their sins is NOT a work?
Tell me, in order to be Saved, does one need to confess? (Rom 10:9) Are you saying for one to actually confess with their mouth, that is also not a work?
Tell me, in order to be Saved, does one need to endure to the end?(Mat 24:13) Are you saying for one to endure to the end, that is not a Work?
Tell me, in order to be Saved, does Scriptures teach a person must be baptized?(Mark 16:16) Are you saying that too is NOT a work?
Tell me, in order to be Saved, does one need to Call upon the name of Lord? (Acts 2:21) What Calling on Jesus is not something a person DOES?

Know you not what Works mean: Works are what you DO. If a person repents, that is a work. If a person confesses, that also is a work, if a person gets baptized, that too is a work. All these verses plainly teach that a person MUST DO these things to be Saved. So then your teaching that believing ONLY is enough is in Scriptural error. These verse above plainly teach there is things you must DO in order to be Saved. So you pick a few verses to believe and what do you do with the others?

If there are are 20 verses which teach something about being Saved. Why do you pick and choose a few of them, and disregard the rest. Have you not discarded all the above verses saying all you need to DO is believe and that is enough? What then we don't have to confess? We don't have to repent? If then we MUST repent and confess, then you MUST concede there is more to being Saved then merely believing ONLY. Scripture even plainly teaches this, that Faith ONLY is dead. i don't care how you try to interpret James, it does not change the TRUTH. Faith ONLY is dead. PERIOD.
So i hear you and others teach that believing only is enough, that Faith ONLY is enough to be Saved. Should i believe you or what Scriptures teach? If i believe that believing in Jesus is enough to be Saved, then i most certainly have to do something about all those verses which say otherwise, maybe i can take those verses to the Hebrew or Greek and change the words to mean something other that what the verse says. Or maybe i can interpret them away, or better yet, just ignore them and lean solely on the verses which teach Believing to be Saved, and disregard all the other verses which teach i must DO something to be Saved. God Forbid.

If what you believe contradicts even one verse in Scriptures what you believe is WRONG. God.

Now you are bearing false witness...that makes 2 of the 7 found in proverbs 6 and you claim to be saved.......I added nothing and your a liar!

MY post
Do you have anything of value....post 10 verses in context that state works save......

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe <----NO works

For by Grace have you been saved by faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest any many should boast <-----No works

He that believes on the Son shall be saved <---No works

They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." <---No works

And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace <--No works

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved <---No works

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith <--No works

so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. <--No works

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life <--No works

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." <--No works

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. <--No works

For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."<--No works

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,<--No works

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.<--No works

Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."<--No works

"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.<--No works

and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.<--No works

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth<--No works

obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.<--No works

You will have to get up early, eat your Wheaties and then twist the bible into a pretzel to make it teach works salvation pal.....!
All these verses are Absolutely TRUE, but they do not negate, make void all other verses which teach what you MUST DO to be Saved as well. Like confess, repent, be baptized, endure to the end etc.... .

Hebrews 4 ►
English Standard Version
1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.a 3For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,
“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
Absolutely! You do know however that this passage of scripture is referring to God’s 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath don’t you? Verse 9 you left out is the context, Let’s look at it….
“There remaineth therefore a [Sabbath] rest [SUP]4520[/SUP] to the people of God.” (NAS; Heb 4:9)

The Greek word literally means “Sabbath keeping” or “Sabbath observance.

Strong's Concordance

sabbatismos: a sabbath rest
Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: sabbatismos
Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos')
Short Definition: a Sabbath rest
Definition: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

Englishman's Concordance

Strong's Greek 4520

σαββατισμὸς — 1 Occ.
Hebrews 4:9 N-NMS
GRK: ἄρα ἀπολείπεται σαββατισμὸς τῷ λαῷ
NAS: there remains a Sabbath rest for the people
KJV: therefore a rest to the people
INT: Then remains a sabbath rest to the people

Those that did not enter into God’s rest did not enter in because of their unbelief and disobedience (sins)

◄ Matthew 11:28 ►
New International Version
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

If you read verses 29 and 30 that you left out all this verse is saying that we have rest by learning of Jesus following him

Hmm well that definitely does not say that Jesus is the Sabbath. It also does not say that we not longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath commandment a holy anymore.

Are you able to answer my questions now?

Do you know what a High Sabbath is? (John 19:31) What is an annual Sabbaths that is connected to feast days that do not even fall on the 7th Day of the week (Lev 23)?

Did you know all of the above are not referring to God's 4th commandment (Ex 20:8-11) but are connected to annual feast days? Did you know that these annual Sabbaths are also connected with New Moons, meat and drink offering and holy days? Funny how they all seem to fit so well with Col 2 in the new testament is talking about don't you think?

Still waiting for your answer to my question. Where in the bible does it say that Jesus is our Sabbath? Where does it say in the Bible we not longer need to keep God's 7th Day Sabbath a holy day? I believe God's Word how about you? Ok I have to go for now back latter and God bless you

All these verses are Absolutely TRUE, but they do not negate, make void all other verses which teach what you MUST DO to be Saved as well. Like confess, repent, be baptized, endure to the end etc.... .
