What would be the meaning of this sentence, if John was not talking about somebody specific in the first part?

But you are right "the" is not there in Greek.
Sorry I missed the other day. Here is why it's not in the Greek nor in the KJV:

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

If a "The 7 Year Tribulation - The Antichrist" person reads that verse then they will ADD "THE" to the verse and the bible will aid them in their false interpretation.... the word of God DISCERNED the thoughts and intents of their heart.

But what the verse REALLY says is "it is the last time: and as you have heard, ANTICHRIST is coming, well HERE it is right now and there are MANY of them.

1 John 2:18 KJV
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

The apostle Paul used two different words for temple, he used a word that mainly meant physical building when he spoke of the physical temple, and another other word for the place where God actually dwells(in the church). When Paul wrote of the temple that the Antichrist would enter, he used the word for the actual dwelling place of God, which at that time would have been the church. Think, a movement started in 1906 that has almost taken over the church. The main problem with this movement is that Christians have accepted the actions of demonic spirits and have called it the moving of God's Spirit. Satan has moved into the church and taken the position(seat) of God and is proclaiming himself to be god. At this moment I would venture to say that millions of Christians are actually worshipping demonic spirits while they believe they are worshipping God...the movement is called Pentecostalism. I do not know if this is what Paul meant when he said that the son of perdition would take his seat in the temple of God and proclaim himself God. I do know that Satan has entered the church through Pentecostalism and many Christians are proclaiming his actions the actions of God.
