One of my favorite Psalms is the 23, seems like each time i read it bring such peace to me. It brings calmness if you having a bad day. I like the 23 Psalm from the King James.

[h=1]Psalm23[/h]23 [FONT=&quot]The [/FONT][FONT=&quot]Lord[/FONT][FONT=&quot] is my shepherd; I shall not want.[/FONT][FONT=&quot]2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.[/FONT]

[h=1]Psalm 69King James Version (KJV)[/h]69 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.
6 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord God of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.
9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Lord, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16 Hear me, O Lord; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
19 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31 This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
33 For the Lord heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.
34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.
35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.

PSALMS 133:1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
PSALMS 133:2 It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes!
PSALMS 133:3 It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

The Psalm that fits for this year

Psalm 117 KJV

O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.

For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.

Praise ye the Lord.

Mine is Psalm 37

Psalm 37:4-7 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

[SUP]5 [/SUP] Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

[SUP]6 [/SUP] He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday.

[SUP]7 [/SUP] Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

I pray this every morning before I get into my reading.

My favorite is psalm 19
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 91Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

Psalm 91

[SUP]1 [/SUP]He who [SUP][a][/SUP]dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
[SUP]
2 [/SUP]I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
[SUP]
3 [/SUP]For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
[SUP]
4 [/SUP][Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,
[SUP]
10 [/SUP]There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.
[SUP]
11 [/SUP]For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.
[SUP]
14 [/SUP]Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
[SUP]
15 [/SUP]He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Oh Psalm 86 all the way. In my opinion it it the perfect prayer. Look at all the points hit. First David is bold and basically tells God to hear him. Then he prays for things that can only be given by God. Guard my life, have mercy on me, bring joy to me, teach me. Why teach? "That I may fear you". This means serve and revere not the fear that we think of. Why do i think it the perfect prayer? For the last line that means so much to me "for you, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me". God has done so much for me that I cannot thank Him enough. I dont deserve it one single bit but He did.

This is one passage that my mom underlined in her Bible. When looking thru her Bible the main things she underlined were praises, thanks, worship and prayers to God.

God doesnt owe us anything....we owe Him everything.

Thank you mom for this reminder.
