No, of true experience.
"True experience"? lol yea ok that's definitely arrogance not to mention how you ridiculed others in the past. So there's definitely a common pattern in your ways. The Lord speaks of humility many times throughout scripture, unfortunately some people don't apply it to their lives.

I have worked hard most of my life to help others understand that they do not need to feel helpless and hopeless because of the "canned" replies and comments of thoroughly uninformed and potentially dangerous armchair quarterbacks like you.

Just the idea that a mother, father, or anyone, is going to somehow "protect" a growing child from things they will discover and experience in school and the world is one of burying our heads in the sand.

It involves teaching, not protecting.

No one gave any "hopeless" replies that's your arrogant interpretation of them. "Hey! look at me I have "True experience" PM me don't bother with these useless responses". You don't see how arrogant & prideful you display yourself as? You could've easily stated due to your supposed "True experience" people are welcomed to PM you for help & that's it. Yet you felt the need to undermine others & boost yourself. If that's what you feel you need to do to make yourself feel better then goodluck with that.

Withhold not correction from the child:
for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

The rod and reproof give wisdom:
but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Ok, you just can't seem to understand that if you try to claim something largely ineffective like putting a filter on your computer is going to help.... think about the dismal failure in the mind of the teen who simply goes somewhere else to get porn.

Or, what of all these other great ideas of "Just don't think about it" or "Keep your mind on things of God."?

What is the kid going to think must very obviously be wrong with him because there seems to be no way in the world that works for him?

We have to teach children (and adults) to understand that the key is in their thinking... NOT on hiding themselves away in a dark closet, pretending they are not still thinking the same thoughts.

If all these quick, simple ideas worked, we would not have our ever rising porn problem.

What does it take for you to see that these things do not work? It's as crazy as thinking more gun laws will stop the killing in Chicago.

well I listen to Gods word in the bible, not a man.
the bible says to teach and disipline our kids.

some say we are what we eat, how bout we are what we watch.

If I had a kid in school age now, they would be home schooled.
The school system is so corrupt nowadays.
To say a father or mother can not protect kids from somethings is false.
If all these quick, simple ideas worked, we would not have our ever rising porn problem.
To say that "anyone" can not protect kids or people from porn is wrong .
If our government had upheld Gods morals, and "protected" our kids from this.
[even kid porn]this online porn thing would be faint or non issue.

but U.S. Courts are Defenders of Porn, U.S. is the porn capital of the world.
they could have blocked this, but they feed it to the masses because they want it.

but this is just one of many ways the morals of this country are falling.
there was a time when you could not even show a navel on t.v.,

what shows parents should let or prevent them to see at home is there job.

so just controling what children at home watch on tv or movies is "protecting them"
you might call it teaching, I'll call it protecting our kids or governing what they do.

Do you realize your entire post was simply about attempting to regulate and legislate morality?

Our Forefathers’ Goal

In his First Inaugural, President George Washington said, “The foundations of our national policy will be
laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality.” In his famous Farewell Address he said,

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.” Washington knew that without religion and morality, the American experiment was doomed to fail. John Adams backed him up: “Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand.” Religion and morality are firmly rooted in divine law.

In 1954, Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren wrote, “I believe the entire Bill of Rights came into being because of the knowledge our forefathers had of the Bible and their belief in it.” What political or religious leaders would make such statements as these men did? Even the politicians who established our republic were more spiritual than most of our religious leaders today!

The Constitution is the foundation of our republic. And the Ten Commandments were, in many ways, the foundation of the Constitution. Our forefathers believed that if we didn’t keep God’s Ten Commandments, our republic would collapse!

I don't mean to take sides here, but I just wanted to point out that I was home schooled - and that didn't stop me. A lot of home schoolers have done better than I, I will admit, but if a kid really wants to get into trouble, they will find a way. But I still agree that at least if parents are more careful, the chances of that kind of mess is lessened.

But, are you talking about the things your parents teach you about yourself and others, and the examples they set for you in their own lives..... or, are you talking about them hiding books and videos from you?

As it relates to this entire thread. Unless someone just blindly walks into something, I usually try to keep the whole conversation in focus.

What I meant was, do you feel protected from the world's influence because of what is kept from your knowledge, or from the way your parents might openly discuss controversial subjects with you, getting your opinions, and them explaining theirs?

Do you get more moral life guidance from a discussion with them about something like, say, Gender Fluidity, than you would from them stopping the newspaper due to some stories about it in there... or from them shutting off the TV or radio if touchy subjects are mentioned there?

I believe my parents did most of the right things. They didn't let me watch anything inappropriate in regards to sexual relations in movies, while at the same time they did talk about sexuality and what is wrong and right. They didn't really hide things from me in as much as they discussed such issues with me. There is a great deal of a difference between discussing an issue in an informative matter and watching a sex scene on television. I was informed as well as sheltered by them. Yet it was I who stepped out of that shelter, despite the precautions they took.
