YOU HAVE FIRST-CLASS RIGHTEOUSNESS

[HR][/HR]Some Christians believe that they have to work at becoming more righteous. And they kick themselves when they do wrong. They don’t realize that by doing these things, they are not seeking God’s righteousness, but are trying to establish their own righteousness by their law-keeping and right conduct.

Righteousness is not about right conduct. It is a gift from God to us through Jesus. And since it is a gift, we cannot earn it by our law-keeping and right conduct. We can only receive it!
How do we receive this gift? We receive it through the cross. God made Jesus “who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. So today, we are the righteousness of God in Christ. We are as righteous as Jesus is!

But some of us think that in the body of Christ, there are different classes of righteousness, like the seating classes in an airplane. They think that some of us have economy-class righteousness, others have business-class righteousness and a select few have first-class righteousness.

That is nonsense! When God gave us Jesus, He became our righteousness. So we have His righteousness. This means that we are 100 per cent righteous in God’s eyes! We cannot but have first-class righteousness!

You might say, “Pastor Prince, I don’t understand. How can I be righteous when I have done wrong?” Think about this: Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin for us. Jesus knew no sin, did no sin and in Him was no sin. But at the cross, He received our sin and became sin for us.

Likewise, we, who were sinners, knew no righteousness, did no righteousness and in us was no righteousness. But at the cross, we received His righteousness and became the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
At the cross, the divine exchange took place. Jesus took our place so that we might take His place. He did not deserve to be made sin, but He was made sin in our place. We did not deserve to be made righteous, but we were made righteous because we received His righteousness. What good news! What amazing grace!

I would hope people would refrain from attacking the source or person who said the word and instead address what they agree or disagree with his statements.

He clearly states that on the cross Jesus took our sin and gave us His righteousness.

Do people agree or disagree and why?

What bible verses supports what you believe?

He also states that everyone is first class Christians and refutes the false doctrine that some are better or more holy than others because our righteousness is based on Christ not our own.

Before it gets too far cuz I forum stalked your older post....everyone should read admins words of warning before thundering in.....

http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/143507-hyper-grace-preachers-doctrine-cc.html

If you have a thing against "hyper grace" or a personal grudge against the op or hate Joseph Prince..,,,

.try something new....ignore this thread and don't post.

Or post about the words in the op only....

Do you believe there are different levels of Christians where some get 1st class and others don't?

Or did Jesus not take our sins?

Or are we not clothed in His righteousness?

I think if there is debate it will be upon the last point.

Clothed in His righteousness means we have His armor upon us. He enables us to do good works.

We don't make our own armor, He makes it for us. Howver many reject and take it off and prefer their own rags.

Speaking generally. No clue what everyone believes.

Though the Pharisees were not righteous enough, they were righteous. Jesus says that if our righteousness does not pass the righteousness of the Pharisees then we will surely not enter heaven. If there is nothing to do on our part, why does He tell us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? I'll tell you why. Because God chooses who to give the gift of grace to- and it's only to those who obey Him, who DO the Will of the a Father. Their obedience does not earn the gift, but Jesus is saying that we can choose to be the kind of person that God chooses to give the gift to.

Many are called, but out of the group that is called, very few are chosen. Most think that all of the Elect of God (all Christians) will be saved, but that is not so. Only the VERY Elect of God will be saved. Being a Christian is not enough to get grace, He only gives it to Christians who obey Him. Paul was a Christian, but even he said that he has to be careful to not get disqualified for the prize (grace).

Do not be deceived, not everyone who calls Jesus "Lord" will enter heaven, but only those who DO the Will of the Father (who OBEY God). Many will say on that day that they did many things in the name of Christianity, but Jesus will say to them "Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness." What does that mean? It means that even though they did many things for Jesus that they felt in their heart to do, they didn't make sure that what they did matched the laws of Christ (the New Testament).

"There is a way that SEEMS right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

"They worship Me IN VAIN, their doctrine is merely human rules."

The Bible speaks of "faith" but it also speaks of more specifically "Thee Faith". "The Faith" is not only belief in God, but in the doctrine of Christ's one and only church- rules we have to follow. "In latter days some will abandon The Faith, and follow deceiving spirits." These people didn't abandon belief in God, the abandoned following Christ's doctrine to follow mankind's twisted version of doctrine.

What we all MUST do is actively obey what Christ commanded the apostles to write down (the New Testament). It is not enough to believe in God and to obey any wind of doctrine, and it is not enough to believe God and His proper doctrine but not obey it. The VERY Elect of God know HIS doctrine AND obey it. "My sheep know My voice (teaching) and they follow Me (obey Me).

Do not be deceived- by your own thinking, or by others.

Righteousness is not about right conduct.
Wrong! More lies from false teachers like Joseph Prince.

1 John 2:29
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1 John 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

Promoting the lies and the doctrine of the Devil is also not righteous. :)

I have found a pretty simple way of spotting a false grace message.

The false grace message says sin (works of the flesh) still has dominion over you when you are born again of the Spirit and under grace. This means by definition that you are still a servant of sin.

But the true grace message says when you are born again of the Spirit and truly under grace sin shall not have dominion over you. This means you are now made free from sin by Christ and are now also made a servant of righteousness.

So when the false grace camp say works do not matter, they also include the works of the flesh=sin in the whole mix of works as they say do not matter.

Sin is a work people, and sin does matter, that is also why Jesus came and was crucified. :)

Looks like it is time for "scripture" again in the area of righteousness. Why do we fight so much against the work of Christ and instead live by our own humanistic thoughts about "creating and maintaining our own righteousness?"

Why don't we believe in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection? Why are we continually denying Him?

He is our righteousness - there are fruits of His righteousness that are manifested but we need to get established in the "gift of righteousness" first. Rom. 5:17

The understanding of the new creation in Christ and the new identity of the believer is paramount to living the true Christian life.

Here it says our spirit ( the inner person that is a new creation in Christ ) is alive because of righteousness that it is it.

Romans 8:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Here righteousness is a gift - you don't earn it.

Romans 5:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

We have grace reigning in our lives because of righteousness in us.

Romans 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21[/SUP] That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here righteousness comes by faith.

Romans 9:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

Here when we believe - we are righteousness.

Romans 10:10 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We are in the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17[/SUP] For the kingdom of God ( Jesus said that the kingdom of God is within you..He might know a thing or two ) is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Here it says that God made us righteousness in Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

This says we have become the righteousness of Christ ( this is called a dependent clause in the greek - it is determined as fulfilled because Christ became sin )

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; thatwe might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Believers are called righteousness.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Here it is saying that "righteousness comes by Christ".

Galatians 2:21 (NASB)
[SUP]21 [/SUP] "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

Here we have the breastplate of righteousness - which is the armor of God that we are to be strong in.

Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

This talks about the new man in Christ - the new creation.

Ephesians 4:24 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ok..that's enough..there are tons more....

I would hope that people simply not make a fuss over who made a statementby posting their name in big letters above the statement...If the statement is inspired by God then the message is from God and not from the named person who stated it..

When people make a fuss over who wrote the statement that is being shared,, either negative or positive fuss, they are undermining the position or their opposition to it...
