So my son and I were having this conversation and thought I'd share.
His friend works at a day care facility and is about to quit over the policies that are enforced.

The use of anatomical correct dolls used to educate the children if questions arise.
Gender neutral bathrooms where his friend have witnessed both girls and boys partially or fully nude being changed in front of one another.
Play time where boys wanting to play dress up encouraged to apply makeup and girls dresses, (at the dismay of a few parents seeing this the reply was "he needs to find himself and we cannot discourage him).

Just a few of many things going on with our young people today. How our society has stooped to a new low as evil leads the way as a form of acceptance vrs hate.
These are all mandated it seems by the state as acceptable practices and policies.
So those of you that have to depend on child care please beware....who's baby sitting your kids?

I don't see a problem with a boy dressing as a girl, if you make a fuss over that you are hysteric (does dressing as a pirate mean they will end up as pirates?) and that in itself could later lead to a rebelling teen wanting to try it out just to provoke.

However I would definitely not want any group of kids being changed together, even if they were the same gender.

I've also heard parents say "children need to find themselves and we cannot discourage them as well. Which is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard. What's worst is more & more parents are being conditioned to raise their child that way. A child needs to taught the difference between what makes a boy a boy & what makes a girl a girl. A child is not mature nor experienced enough to "go find themselves". A parent as to instill in a child what is right & what is wrong. As the scriptures says in Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Children need rules and boundaries...,boys can "pretend" to be pregnant or princesses but someone will have to tell them why they can't give birth and the differences between men and women...it's more than clothes.

Is the preschool Christian?

If not then what would you expect but worldly morality?

I don't see the problem if it happens naturally because you can always deal with it naturally without going hysterical.


But this is a daycare and the boys aren't doing this naturally, the day care encourages the boys to apply makeup and wear dresses. It sounds to me like they're buying into this neutral gender philosophy that encourages everyone to accept people choosing their gender and ignoring their God given gender. Today they can choose to be a boy one day and a girl the next.

I'm way pass the age of needing daycare, but if the need was there, I certainly would not use this day care or one like it.

Yikes! What a different world we live in from when my kids were growing up.

I have wondered if the women and men both are becoming less than the role models they should be to young children. Do the little boys see their father as what a man should be - and also the little girls, their mother?

Parents are to do more than install what is wrong and what is right. They need to be!

Not saying that this is the only reason for distorted values in our young ones. The media does not help at all. It permeates into language, visuals and values.

Dressing up as girl to "find yourself" is not normal play... it's somebody's agenda.

It's really twisted to foist that on little kids.

I work at a place where we are to encourage people who have intellectual disabilities to take part in activities like sports, music, drama and art. We do activities at a centre in groups and also work one-to-one to encourage people to access activities in their community.

This isn't a christian organisation, so the philosophy is humanistic. So when looking at clients needs and goals, if the client wants to practice their hinduisum or buddhism or whatever.. then we can't prevent it.

We also have the indigeneous people's rights being put into social policy. This hasn't just got to encouraging their language to be preserved and traditions.. but the Maori people's polytheism is subtley in a lot of the policy, by using Maori terms to talk about what spirituality is and what mana is .. what values we should adhere to.

It hasn't been too much of an issue for me personally working in the place because most of the activities I take have so far had little to do with these things.. like fishing, sports, self suffiency, computers.. but I can see a similar thing going on.

The rights and needs of the individual trump what God is directing us in.

As a young adult in college, this is a topic which I have quite a bit of exposure to. It is quite interesting (and concerning) the way society seems to be tending towards getting rid of the idea of gender altogether. It certainly makes you wonder what the world will look like in a few years time...

when I first heard about this I was speechless. Then my son said to me his friend spoke up about these so called policies and they asked her if she was a hater...can you believe that. This is what has been done to our society view points. We have freedom of speech to a point till we're deemed a hater.
Children today are tomorrow's leaders....now that's frightening.
Let's just encourage unnatural behavior to see what effect it has people. Start with the kids even though we all know they love to explore and have no reasoning of there own and see what develops.

Not saying the dress up thing is unnatural but to be encouraged could be looked at as unnatural.
Undressing in front of opposite sex is not natural. I mean sometimes we even shy away from our spouses.
Not a good thing.

Some private schools still educate boys and girls separately through all the grade
levels, not coed. I still remember when coed was introduced into the separate
school I was attending as a young girl. Encouraging people to go find themselves
is a wrong approach, me thinks. People should rather be encouraged to look for God.

Even though we have been set free from the penalty of the law I am fairly confident that God's word covers this concept concerning men dressing as women..........and women as men....

These things must change (prayer, ect.)----common sense must prevail--- because our society has departed from its foundations ( God's Word)-----things will unravel--- but God...

Your example is right up to a point but because a child dresses as a Pirate it doesn't mean that they should all dress as Pirates or dress permanently as such. When I was about 10 I dressed as a Pirate in a fancy Dress competition. Im glad to report I am not carrying on the role In Elizabethan times women were not allowed to perform in Plays so men and boys
dressed and played in women's roles. I doubt that they all lived the role off stage as well

They've been teaching junk for decades now. I simply adapted what I was taught to teach into a more realistic approach.

My first job out of college (1978-1979 school year) was to teach "effective education." The idea back then was "no idea is a bad thing. Make decisions based on your choices." If people felt confident with their decisions, they wouldn't turn to drugs and alcohol. (I worked for a drug rehab, after all. So, of course, it had purpose.)

Sooo, okay then.. This is what I was supposed to teach, and,, taught right, it's not a bad thing.

The first lesson had a scenario. "Someone in your family is very sick and needs a prescription NOW. It's night time so the drug store is closed. Do you wait until the next morning, or do you break in to fill the prescription?"

I let the kids talk it over. Obviously, many thought it was okay to break in, and I listened to them (actively, since I was also taught "active listening." lol) And after 20 minutes of back and forth, I asked the question no one even considered. "Are there other options?"

No one could think of any others because the course was set up as either/or with the "right answer" always set up to be the wrong answer.

I gave them another choice. Call the doctor or the police station to see if they can find out who the pharmacist is, so they can call him at home and find out if he is willing to come in after hours to fill this prescription.

THEN the wheels started twirling again. One kid taught me hospital's pharmacies are open all night. Within five minutes we had a good answer everyone was willing to accept. AND they felt more confident because they did think out the problem with the scenario given. It taught them what I wanted to teach them -- think for yourself, for Pete's sake!

(My boss loved it, since he ran the rehab and kept seeing how many came to the place because they kept thinking all choices were either/or.)

Could I work in a nursery that taught all that crap? Nah! But not because I can't stand the crap they're teaching. I'd go nuts with that many little kids over the course of three hours. I'm just not that kind of person.

BUT, if I were, I'd be educating the educators. "Why do you have to teach a little boy to put on makeup and dresses? What happens to the boy when he goes home and gets into Mom's makeup? Are you going there to protect his little hide? Are you cleaning up for the mother who has her child in daycare to work all those hours, still needs to find time to keep the house clean, the kids well fed, and spend some quality time with the kids, but instead has to clean the eyeshadow and foundation off the walls and her favorite dress? How about letting the parents off the hook and let the kids do what they want to do, IN REASON, so they don't learn they can do whatever they want when they're home?"

There is always a third choice!
