I have had a practice of posting a few verses from a psalm each morning in my clash of clans chat. (Yes, I am a gamer. Some people might think it's a waste of time, but my husband and I find it stress relieving. Plus we have other fellow Christians in the game who will fellowship and pray with us. We work together to achieve a win. God is our loving Father. Would you tell your kids they couldn't play games and must work work work always?)

I thought if I had time I would post a psalm and we could discuss it, if anyone is interested.

I won't promise to do it daily because I visit this site when I feel the need for deeper discussion of God's word but everyone around me is busy or my life makes it so i can't attend the weekly Bible studies I love to go to.

I love coming here though.

I would write a warning to new members to check and put on your armor before engaging in some threads because it's a battle zone. However, I like meeting people and getting their perception of how the Bible has influence their thoughts and lives.

I wanted to share this psalm because it reminds us of what is important and maybe it will change the atmosphere of this forum if more mature Christians not only read God's words but live them.

Below is not all of the psalm, just what I posted to my clan this morning:

Psalm 101
I will sing of mercy and justice;
To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not know wickedness. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy;
The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure.
My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me;

Point 1: sing of God's mercy and justice and His praises.

Can you share your favorite song that does this?

I am going to have to pray and come back...might have to post 3 different ones: mercy, justice, praise.

Point 2: we try to walk perfectly and yet sometimes like the. Psalmist feel that God hasn't come to us yet. That He is far away.

Why do we feel this?

I don't know but my heart wants to make the same plea....

God if I promise to do this, will you come for me?

Sometimes I feel that God answers "I am already here. I never left you. Open your eyes and dry your tears,"

Have you ever dealt with a small child who got in trouble and curated out crying in fear that you no longer loved them? This verse reminds me that we can be that small child making promises to win God's love and get His attention.

I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;

Point 3: don't dwell on the wicked

Apply to forum: don't focus your attention solely on threads created by people you disagree with. I would submit that we shouldn't post on them because most people only read the first post and you are helping them get more attention by posting on their threads.

If you know they are contentious and unwilling to listen, then don't post on threads they start.

I am not saying don't refute or rebuke them if they post in other threads.

What I suggest is that if we want to change this forum, we need to promote and foster threads started by people who truly seek conversation.

People complain about the lack of moderation on this site.

However I look at this way.....if you start a thread, you are more likely to check it. You can help guide where the conversation goes.

Personally, I post in threads of people I respect or want to k ow more about.

My default is to respect everyone. However some people we should read the rest of the psalm and listen to God's advice.

I will not know wickedness. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy;

Point 4: if we see slander, it is right to destroy the lies with Truth and stand up for the brother or sister. To remind the brother or sister of the truth and God's love.

I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me;

Point 5: (yes it's out of order, sorry)

Some people will fall away. We should put them far from us....

Aka. Ignore or avoid threads they start.

The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure.

Point 6: if someone tells you how sinless they are and so much better than you, you dont have to endure it....we have the Ignore button. You don't have to leave a good thread. Just mute the prideful boast of some members.

My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me;

Point 7: surround yourself with people you see as faithful. Engage in conversation with them.

I know it's a lot and I don't know if anyone will take the time to read any of this, but I was bothered by some things I read in this forum and I feel this psalm was like an answered prayer.

God's way of showing me through His words how I should act and what I should do.

I share in the hopes it will help others.

A prayer before I go.

Dear Heavenly Father: we thank you for your many blessings. We thank you for giving us the time to spend in prayer, fellowship and conversation about You and Your Word. Sharper than a two edge sword it divides our thoughts. Show us what is right and true. Bless us today to be Your light in this dark world. Give us courage to step out in faith and stand for Your Truth. Help us to speak in love and gentleness. Focus our eyes upon goodness. Surround us with faithful people seeking Your will, living in love and peace and joy that only You can provide. Thank you Lord. In Jesus Holy name we pray, amen.

So I will just post songs that pop into my head as I read some of these threads or websites that I want to share.

If you have a song or sermon, you think would edify me. Please post. I will try to listen to it.

God bless and keep you this lovely afternoon,

Revelation 5:5
Verse Concepts
and one of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals."

When under spiritual attack, I listen to Christian music and read the Bible and pray. Will be back later, my phone battery is dying.

Yep. He never leaves us ... we are drawn away from Him. When we finally realize we've left Him, all we have to do is turn our hearts back to Him. He'll always be there.
