The latest miracle in my life is a houseful of newly met Sisters and Brothers in Christ thirsting and hungry for the Word and teaching of the Holy SPirit...joining for a bible study every Thursday
I'm awed beyond measure. I would never have been able to orchestrate this myself...not in million years.

KewL... now, be sober and vigilant knowing the enemy is going to do his best to mess it up.

You guys should pray in the authority Jesus gave to His people and tell 'ol slewfoot he's not allowed in yo bible study and get the others to agree in Jesus Name for this... so be it!

It's probably best not to refer to the Devil as 'old slewfoot'. You know, Jude 9 and all that.

I was recently introduced to the ministry of Curry Blake and highly recommend it to you all.
There is a lot of "meat" and not milk in his teaching from the Word.

rockrz- I have found it best to avoid quarrels and quarreling persons as it works counter to how He works in us and through us.
We are to live quiet and peaceful lives.
Your walk with Him is genuine and I appreciate what you have to share.

No, I don't... neither did Jesus

You don't reckon teeth is something God is powerless to take care of???

Good point, thank you for the reminder!

I need to remember to just say my piece and get out... since we know arguing about it is pointless.

In the end we'll see who ends up where and we'll see those that stood on God's promises rewarded by Him.

Why Don’t We See Miracles Like the Apostles Did?

Are we not Spirit filled like they were or is it from lack of faith, prayer, or fasting?

I believe we experience some miracles but nothing like they did.
I have been miraculously healed twice with one being a month ago at a Christine Caine event. God still miraculously heals!

Hi PrettyBelle., I've heard some good things about Christine Caine but have not seen her or heard her sing yet. Praise the Lord!!! Some astounding kind of wonderful amazing things occur when a bunch of believers are in one place together worshiping and praising Jesus. Thank you so much for sharing what great and amazing things the Lord has done for you!! Amen!! I love to hear the witness of those in the household of God.
It gives encouragement to the others and glory to the One Who saves and heals us from all our oppression in it's many forms. Our Savior is "mighty to save!"

Well., here's a thought here for us to think about. Sure., we don't always appreciate the style of some in the household of God but Jesus loves all of us even in our quirky personalities. And even with our sometimes "grating" ways., the Holy Spirit still heals us and still works in our lives because of the faith we put in Jesus. It's not due to the personality of the individual or how appealing we may or may not be. It's about faith.

I've heard of believers who don't get insurance and that to some is a "holy grail" thing. Yet a man like George Mueller who had orphanages in England in the 1800s or early 1900s prayed for all the needs they had when they had them. And God answered the man's prayer due to the faith he had and not due to his "quirky" personality. A good Christian business man would argue with George's lack of life and health insurance but the Holy Spirit didn't.

It's awesome the diversity in the household of faith. We are not all the same and yet He loves us. How awesome is that!!??

One verse sums it up.

Act_5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

The Holy Ghost is given to those who OBEY Jesus. As long as people are obeying satan and committing sins who can the Holy Ghost reside in? The Holy Ghost is given to them that Obey Jesus, not to them that disobey Him. He commands " Love One Another" Those who do not Love others, are NOT obeying Jesus.

Heb_5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Who? Who are given Eternal Salvation according to this verse? Those that Obey Him. Woe to those who disobey Him, and still think they have Eternal Salvation, this verse teaches those who OBEY HIM, have Eternal Salvation.

Luk_6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Do you call Him Lord, but obey His enemy and commit sins? Your Master is to whom you obey.

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Do you keep His Words? He COMMANDS us to Love One Another. Woe to those who don't all the while claiming that they know Jesus.

Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And His Words are "Love One Another"

It had to be so... The Gospel was to be shared.. and those miracles moved so many.

We may be expecting too much from some of the gospels, it never adds , "while they were going to ......... , Philip broke his sandal and they had to stop....." none of that "nittien-noit " stuff of daily living, and He modeled what we could have in Him.
Blessings

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
[SUP]18 [/SUP]They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

There is the problem. Too many, far too many Christians do not believe the Bible is true....I make this the entire bible. Why? If you do not believe only one point in the bible, how can you trust the rest of it. If God lied on only one single point, how do you know He is not lying on more? So.....They do not believe the bible is true. How sad!

My question for you is, what do you define a miracle to be?

Miracles are everywhere...we just have to choose to see it :)
This is an excuse for not believing the Whole Word of God

Obviously, these Jesus-style miracles are not going on today. The age-old answer given by us who view the Charismatic beliefs as false doctrines (with all due respect) is...that these 'over-the-top' miracles were used during the transition phase in the first years of the Christian era...as a means of Christianity getting its foot in the door (so to speak).

For example, if the "Charismatic" gifts were still in operation today...then we should be able to see wave after wave of hundreds and thousands of Charismatic missionaries going off to all the lands of the world and BEING ABLE TO INSTANTLY SPEAK ALL THE LANGUAGES without going to any language institute. That isn't happening.

In dramatic contrast to all these pseudo-miracles we can see on our Sunday morning cable channel TV church shows, Jesus' miracles had a number of distinctive features not being seen on BennyHinn TV (or several dozen others like him);

Jesus would walk into a community and (read carefully) choose someone to heal WHO WAS PREVIOUSLY KNOWN TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. And NOT necessarily a 'believer'.

That would mean...someone claiming a gift of healing would need to select a well-known handicapped person -- Stevie Wonder, Joni Eareckson-Tada, famous wounded war veterans...who have missing eyeballs, severed spinal cords, etc..

THAT...is a Jesus-style miracle. Not this nonsense you see on a Benny Hinn show or other televised "healing" church services...where they find some guy completely unknown to the audience, pay him $20 to hobble into the sanctuary with a walker, he then gets his 'healing touch', and proceeds to dramatically toss the walker across the stage as though there has been a healing.
[h=1]Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)[/h] [SUP]17 [/SUP]And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
