I one of my favorite places to go is to a family members river house. What a peaceful and relaxing place to be. Away to escape and forget about life problems. Whats even better and than that is God, we can seek refuge in him. He will give rest when we are tired and burdened. He will bring a peace and calmness away to escape from problems of the world. God thank you for giving us a place of rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Amen....I like The Message bible paraphrase of this verse.

Matthew 11:28-30
The Message (MSG)

[SUP]28-30 [/SUP]“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Yoke, learn - It is easy for people to miss these points.

Jesus is our Lord, we must submit and be obedient.
Learn, we must put effort in, think, work, fight, be passionate.

Do our emotions rest on the promises and on Jesus actions and words?
When we dwell here everything comes into perspective.
Many storms are calmed and what is to come, is to come, because
we walk with the King of Kings, a thin veil is all that separates us from
the ultimate reality, and true freedom, Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 - Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord [be] with you all.

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1 Peter 5:7
- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

I've learned that you can pitch your spiritual "tent" anywhere. And be in a place of rest.

When I stand alone, I feel abandoned, bereft of life, when I search out the Lord
and His presence I feel like I am home, and nothing can shake me.

It is easy to think it is us who are at rest, but we are sharing His peace and
presence that changes everything.

We do not have to do anything, it is our passion to share and serve, because
love reaches from our hearts out to others. To know this is the love that
drove Christ to the cross to call us friends, when He could have done nothing,
but so great was His love, He did everything, Amen and Hallelujah.

I think Paul is a true master of this faith rest life. And shows what God means when he speaks of rest.

Rest is not sitting and relaxing in this view, Paul hardly ever sat and relaxed. He was a worker. He went on and pushed, Even suffered so many things for the cause of Christ, Yet he considered it a momentary light affliction. Why? Because he rested.

1. His focus was eternity not this life. He considered everything in this life but temporary, and meaningless (and he was a very well off man as a pharisee who had everything he could ever want, Fame, Position, Power. Money etc etc yet considered it all rubbish)
2. He considered Gods promises that he will take care of him, in all situations, That he will provide him with all the tools needed, and a support group (paul never did things alone, it was when he was alone, he begged for people to come)
3. ALL of this was possible because PAUL Knew, God as an abba faith, not a spirit he needed to fear. because no matter what happened, (even if paul messed up) He knew God would never leave nor forsake him.

Paul was secure, because pauls faith was in God. Not in himself or his life circumstances, and because of this, he could rest, even while being stoned

We can rest assured our faith in the proper object will always bring us the grace of God. The Name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe. Retreat into faith. Trust in who Jesus is and what He has done.

God is not the responder to man, man is the responder to God. It is God's grace that elicits our response of faith, not our faith that brings about the grace of God.

Faith can only receive what grace has already provided in Christ. We can rest in all that Christ has already done for us. If grace has not already provided it in Christ - we can't "faith" it in by our own effort or works.

If a Believer Faith is not placed in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, I.e., The Blood of Jesus, you frustrate the grace of God. You are committing Spiritual Adultery.

Hebrews 10:38-39 King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]
38 [/SUP]Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

That's another subject.

So, when Joshua told the sun to stand still, he didn't get a response from God?

When Joshua told the Sun to stand still, that was him responding to God.

Habakkuk 2:4
New American Standard Bible
"Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith.

Romans 1:
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

Galatians 3
10For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT ABIDE BY ALL THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW, TO PERFORM THEM.” 11Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”12However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM.” 13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”— 14in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Hebrews 10:
35Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. 37FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
38BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;
AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.
39But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
