BELIEVING IS RECEIVING

You have heard people of the world say, “I will believe it only when I see it.” Generally, that is the way the world thinks. But God’s ways are not like the ways of the world. The world says, “If I can’t feel it or see it, I cannot believe the miracle is here.” God says, “If you believe it before you feel it or see it, you will see your miracle.”

Believing first before seeing the evidence of what we are believing for is called faith. Faith is like a spark and Jesus is the dynamite powder.
In the story of the healing of the woman with the issue of blood, there were many people who touched Jesus (Mark 5:31), but nothing happened to them. They didn’t touch Him in faith. But when the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years came to Him and touched Him in faith, He felt power leave His body (Mark 5:30), and it sparked off an explosion of healing in the woman’s body!

Hearing about how good, kind and loving Jesus was fired her faith to believe that He could and would heal her. So convinced was she (even when the condition in her body was still evident) that she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Did she experience her healing first before she believed? No, she believed first in Jesus’ goodness and power, acted in faith and only then felt the healing in her body.

In the same way, God wants you to believe in His goodness and love toward you. He wants you to know how willing He is to act on your behalf to bless you, and how, with Christ, He will freely give you every good thing. (Romans 8:32)

He wants you to declare by faith that all is and shall be well with you, and to expect to see just that. And then, no matter how long you have had the problem, no matter how bad the experts say it is, an explosion of healing and restoration will take place, and you will receive what you are believing for!

This messag in todays devo speaks to me today especilly. am healing frm a brokn wrst and althou not serius, i had to put myslf out there and trust and believ Jesus 2 care 4 things i cant 4 myself in more ways than usual. as a woman on her own Jesus is my husband now. in the operatng rm and recovery He watchd out 4 me.

i want to confes the good care He has over me. He cared 4 things i didnt even know about in this situation. He promises 2 when we stop worryng and takng on life ourslvs. He wants me 2 trust and walk it out without looking back. in doing so He took the problm and i rested.

now im recoverng at home and no swelling or issues. pain meds working and listening 2 messags about His love 4 us indivdully. He wants 2 care 4 us even the things that seem small but r a matter 2 me, He is fixing and showing me He really is aware of all my issues. and its because He loves me. these r ways He shows His sheep. He takes care of my 'sheep' concerns even thou they r not major issues they matter to my comfort and He actually knows and cares 4 them becaus it mattrs 2 me His sheep.

He could let many of the things go and id b ok, but He didnt becaus He always goes above and beyond what i asked. and this is showing me He will answer the other prayers ive prayed over the last few yrs that hav yet 2b answerd.

Jesus is the true lover of our souls and He will not let our foot stumbl or fall.

No recruiting to believe in what Jesus has done for us because of His blood and to live by faith in Jesus?

Hard to believe eh?..lol..Hey there is a pun on "believing" as the OP is encouraging people to do.

Devotionals are not advertising unless they are advertising to believe in and trust in Jesus and His love and grace towards us.

Joseph Prince has been at the root of much strife here.

It is believed by some that he preaches heresy.

Others vociferously defend him and other WoF teachers.

yes, devotionals r encouraging and thought/prayer provoking. i had 2 put the name of the writr of the devotional up or it would look like i wrote it and that is against the rules.

Which is why we discuss what is written in OP's because to others everyone is a heretic if they don't believe the exact same things as they do.

If we all stick to what is written then we can discuss truths as we see them in scripture. This stops all the contention and useless strife which is what the mods want.

hi magenta,
:) as a born again christian i have seen the need to be challengd by othr christians, not to fear or be angry at them. this is how we learn to distinguish what is heresy or just plain difference of opinion. labels r often harmful imo and it is so much better 2 get 2 know each other.

some christians dont believe there will b a hell 4 humans who dont receive Jesus as their personal Saviour and some would say that is heretical. (i dont) but i do believe there is an eternal hell 4 all who dont have Jesus. this does not change my mind or bother me at all if other christians chose to believe differntly than me.

and so it goes. we believers need to be able to agree to disagree and let God be true. do u agree?

It's easy to see that having faith and believing are crucial to receive.

Was their faith in his ability to heal them or in him being the Son of God?
Or both?

Matthew 9:28
“Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

Matthew 9:22
“Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.”

Matthew 9:29
“According to your faith let it be to you.”

Matthew 15:28
“O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.”

Matthew 17:20
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Matthew 21:21
“Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt

Mark 5:36
“Do not be afraid; only believe.”

Acts 14:9
This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,

I agree that talking about those things that are near and dear to our hearts often bring out character traits that may otherwise be hidden, and we all seem to be passionate about our beliefs concerning God and the Living Word of God as revealed in the Scriptures through the revealed written Word of God. This as much as anything else in our lives may be a testing ground to show us how well we can be or are loving of others, which is one of only two legs of the commands Jesus gave as the greatest. It is one thing, then, to proclaim you have been healed according to your faith, but to say others are lacking in faith because they have not been healed becomes a bone of contention, especially when so many see a purpose to their suffering, just as Paul was told that God's grace was sufficient for him, when he cried out to God to remove the thorn in his flesh. That seems to be one of the major complaints against such teachers. I generally stay out of it as far as JP is involved :D I was just clarifying for your benefit what has been a problem here, since you just joined earlier this year... unless you are a returning member. In either case, welcome to CC :) I hope you enjoy your time with us.

hey :D magenta its ladylyn here! i asked them 2 cancel my old acct back in oct. but then came back after some re-thinking of the matter last week but the acct was gone into cyber space so i decided 2 use my own name instead so robo set me up. thanku 4 being so welcoming w/ your trademark pretty purple. :D

there r lots of reasons 4 not being healed instantly and those of us who believe in "biblical" healing would never venture 2 say or guess or judge someone else if they r not healed. not 2 mention the fact that some healing comes some 10 fold- 20- 30 fold..,,50., 55 fold some 80 etc... i've seen my own gradual healing over the years. even now i'm healing from a broke wrist.
there is just way too much 2 learn about what healing is about so i would never judge others on the matter.

but i do believe in healing 4 sure. also on the matter of paul and the thorn ., i've since learned the thorn in the flesh were pain in the behind 'people' sent by satan to continually haras and frustrate pauls teaching the new believers. they followed him from place 2 place. total pains in the butt as they confused the new believers that paul just finished teaching. very frustrating.

Jesus came to give life, heal up and mend ., satan comes to kill, steal and destry. there is alot more but typing w/1 hand slows me down. thanks again 4 your welcome sis!!!

Hello Lady Lynn, you know I actually wondered if it was you, partly because of the subject matter but also because of the font you used haha we are such creatures of habit, even though it was smaller than before, it is still the comic sans ms you use :D:eek::) I am glad you came back. I have always appreciated the way you present your views, level headed and caring but not backing down in the face of any opposition. I understand why people leave and why they come back, also. Did I say I am glad you have come back? When I first noticed your previous name listed as a Guest I was saddened. Warm hugs to you :)

joaniemarie, I'm so glad to hear that your surgery went well and you're on the mend. I was driving Monday and Tuesday (long trip), and found my wrist (the one I shattered three years ago) to be uncharacteristically achy (we drove through some WILD weather!), and it reminded me to keep you in prayer for your wrist :). Rest well, my friend, and I will continue to pray that your bones knit back together quickly and well!

Love you,
-JGIG

Thank you for your prayers JGIG (((hugs)))) :) what did u think of the dead weight of your arm after surgery? did they give u a block? i got blocked from the shoulder down and it looked and felt like a manikin arm when i got home and tried positioning it on a pillow or walking., felt kind of like the hunchback who swung his arm when he walked. couldnt feel the arm but was aware of its dead weight. soooo weird and heavy. after 2 weeks in this hard cast., then they remove the sutures and do an xray. u were very young when u had your break JGIG.

No block for my surgery, they knocked me out :). I did have an epidural with my first baby, though, so I know the weird feeling you're talking about!

The surgeon I had for my wrist did dissolvable internal sutures and external tape sutures and I had a splint, so I didn't go back for my follow-up until after 4 weeks, I think? The splint was nice; it allowed for showers :).

Just keep moving those fingers so your tendons/ligaments stay limber! Continuing to pray for you ❤!

Gotta scoot,
-JGIG
