I wanted to do something a little different on my post tonight. Share our favorite bible verse and if you want give the reason my its your favorite. Mine is John 3:16, It shows how much God loves and was willing to do for me.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This one shows me that if I trust the Lord with my heart - He will do the rest as I acknowledge Him in all things. I can rest in His faithfulness and not to try to create my own Ishmael.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

[SUP]6 [/SUP] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Ephesians 5:25- Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I used to have a shirt with that Scriprure. I'd wear it to the gym and enjoyed several conversations because of it.

My favorite is Matthew 11:28-30. "Come unto me all you who are weary and carrying heavy burden. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." I call it, The Invitation.

Mark 9:24 "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." Part of a verse, not the whole verse. Even my belief must come from Him. I want this verse on my tombstone.

The other day I took part in a memorial service and in my open prayer I asked God to increase our faith and strengthen our relationship with Him and with each other, to His happiness and glory. :)

but the word of our God will stand forever”

Here's one of my favorites!

Psalm 91:7-11

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them Your servant is warned;
In keeping them there is great reward.

I have so many, but I guess my top three are...

"He is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows."

"They in Me and Me in You, that we may be one."

"And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes."

KJVRomans8;16-17, 16.The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; 17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

30 But the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I been in the habit of treating you this way?” And he said, “No.”

Balaam reasoning with his donkey.

1 John 2:27
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
